    Spoiler: Longsword
    Show
That should be the one that previously belonged to Drake. Robina has it now

    http://www.giantitp.com/forums/shows...&postcount=900

Oorth started carrying it when it was the only magic weapon we had, when he got his Flaming Greatsword under the Tor Drake's sword ended up with Robina

One of the reasons she took a level in ranger was the apparent ubiquity of longswords...

PS: They are 60' foot up in the air (I assume in the trees) so unless Oorth has a really good jump check...

    Turn order:
    Robina
    Oorth
    Enemy
    Jon
    Bertie

as robina rushes forward and yells out to them they do not respond to her, (Still trying to figure out the logistics if the obscuring mist will block their LOS)

Ok, so the obscuring mist does conceal the group behind the party.

since the enemy can no longer target them, they turn their attention to the only two they can see robina and oorth at the moment.

    Spoiler: Attack
    Show

    E1: attacking robina
    60' up, 15' away
    [rollv]3d20[rollv]+8 17-20 crit x2
    (1d8+1)[3]

    E2: attacking oorth
60' up, 5' away (oorth is standing at the tree)
    [rollv]3d20[rollv]+8 17-20 crit x2
    (1d8+1)[9]

    [2/5]

*it should be noted the enemy are in different trees on either side of the road, the road is 10ft wide, and the trees are 5' from the road, effectively placing the trees about 20' apart from each other.

*attack rolls are in OOC check there for that roll. use damage from here if applicable.

Jon and Bertie step out of the fog and launch projectiles at the enemy, Berties round misses entirely

Jon's attack lands hard into e1, and Robina follows up in the top of r2 with another blow, Oorth tosses a lit torch into the trees, and slowly but surely the trees begin to burn, as the enemies are quickly losing ground they attempt to flee inside the trees up top as the trees since they are fairly close together.

    Spoiler: flee!

If they fail a DC 10 jump they fall... And well they'll due because of the height they are at. Otherwise they move 20 ft a round into denser Forest causing the party to eventually lose sight

Let them go. Bertie can you check on the wounded please?

Each squad give me a status please? If you are in the mist walk out North.

    Lamba?

    Stills?

    Crosby?

    Nash?

Mist is only a 20' radius, so it won't have covered everybody. Do a rollcall of each squad and then search it for anyone down

the sounds of murmurs through the fog can be heard as the party makes their way through, or around (it doesnt really matter) and by the time the party circumnavigates the mist its pretty much disappeared, once on the other side the party can see a crowd gathering around a single lifeless looking body. upon further inspection it appears to be the mayor.

Bertie as you begin to administer first aid you notice that the mayor is indeed dead, upon closer inspection of the bolts that lay in his body you realize they are coated with a fast acting poison

Don't bunch up. Eyes outwards. There may be more of them.

Robina chides the troops to stop rubbernecking.

She'd also like to see if the fire is going to spread or it can be left to burn out

Impressive. Draco has some people who are competent. I should have hit them with magic but I didn’t think they were the major threat.

You have something that can fly or climb to summon when they show up again Bertie?

Question Re: A Test of your Prowers, The Endless Guantlet

Jon does as told and keeps a sharper eye out for round 2 to happen.
If I feel there is a spot that even I would set up an ambush, then a warning and finding a way around it would be advised.

They are trying to eat through people that would give our story more credibility...If I were them, who would I target next? X, Mayor, who else is with us that would give us clout?

    spot people that aren't ours: (1d20)[12] +4
spot an area that I would set up an ambush at (1d20)[1] +4
Concentration who among us would give the most credibility: (1d20)[11] +3

If I think of anything, then I will share my concerns with the party, but until then I will look like I'm eating lemons.

hippogriffs should do the trick. Poor fiorello, we'll get you to a proper rest, or maybe brought back. Thus was definitely an assassination. Oorth, watch it with the fire ok.

If it looks like it wont burn out quickly, I'll use the "rain cloud" form of create water, I only have a 35 foot range on it though
