Viktor smirks "Men, try and avoid killing the misty one. It's offered to tell us some interesting information. And leave the TRAITOR to me" he says, and he makes a pointed stab at Ecnerwal's location as he says so. And with that, combat breaks out!

The Seeker's Squire is first, and she rushes forward, lantern clattering at her side. She runs up to Nowel and with a speed far faster than you'd expect, slices at her with two swings.

The Squire moves to J9 and uses her multiattack on Nowel.

Multiattack! vs Nowel: (1d20+4)[8] vs AC, (1d6+2)[4] and (1d20+4)[21] vs AC, (1d6+2)[3]

The first swing misses by a mile, but it was a feint! Nowel is stabbed in the side by a brutal blow!

Zefeurtryiff whips out a brass kazoo and plays a blindingly fast snippet of melody at the archer at E3. The sound is that of some bowed string instrument, and is somehow polyphonic. Confusing, magical sounds.

A pointy grin creeps across Ecnerwals face as Viktor designates him. He's delighted to be living in this guy's head rent-free.

By all means! I'll wait right here.
But first, I have my own idea.
If we're gonna have a duel, let's do it properly.
Call off your men, and then at dusk.
I'll draw my sword, and you'll draw yuh's.
And we'll find out who pulls out the victory.

And if you win, we'll make no fuss.
We'll surrender there, you'll capture us.
No need for us, or your men, to get hurt.
But if I win, you let us go free
For all they know you never saw me.
And still no need for your men to get hurt.

Now I'm sure that you must have your doubts
Can you trust me not to just run out?
Well I'm a man of my honor, but I'd say that either way
As collateral, I'll come with you
And then at dusk we'll have our duel
And decide who has the edge of the épée

We can settle this grudge like gentlemen
Or if you're scared and you think I'll win
Then I guess we'll just keep going here and now.
If you refuse, it can only mean
That you must not think your eyes that keen
And that I'll either sneak away or fence you out.

Whatever it is, if I were you
I'd hate to have to wear your shoes
When the boys that make it out of here ask you why.
    You've got a choice, and I think it's clear
You can prove yourself, or show your fear.
Protect your men and honor, or both will die.

Viktor definitely looks annoyed, and a little thrilled, by Ecnerwal's offer. He returns the smirk with bared fangs "Ah yes, a truly honourable man. The same man who killed two guards and disposed of their bodies, who escaped from prison by lying through his teeth, who intended to steal from Mistress Vona herself with the scum of the earth. A man who's defied his oath as a vampire. betraying queen and country." he gestures with one hand, as if revealing something of great import. "You shall have your duel, filth. Here and now, before the eyes of judgement. Perhaps you will entertain me long enough for your allies to make a suitable victory meal. Men, slaughter them all, baring the misted one and the traitor. He belongs to me and me alone." Viktor takes up a dueling stance, rapier held outstretched, his free hand curling in a mock lure.

Viktor accepts Ecnerwal's challenge, but on his own terms. All present but the cleric turn their attention to the others, their body language making it clear they're leaving the path open for Ecnerwal to advance on Viktor.

A starry tinted staff, slender and with a golden death-mask at one end, seems to come forth from the sparkling shadows. The cleric puts up a high and mighty face, attempting to avoid the first blow. She missteps, and the staff smashes into her shoulder, wounding her but not breaking her imperious stance. Then the eyes in the staff's mask glint, and with a resounding and VERY sudden "KER-TWHACK" recoils and slams the sanguine glorifier in the face. Her body crumples to the ground, a splatter of blood extending forth from where her head is. Or what's left of it.

Alexander, likely satisfied with the results of his spell, interjects himself between the squire and Nowel.

Alexander moves to K9. Now for enemy turn!

    ------

Viktor advances on Ecnerwal, and flicks his rapier in a wide half circle, attempting to slice past his defenses.

Rapier! vs Ecnerwal: (1d20+3)[21] vs AC, (1d8+5)[6] damage if it hits.

Viktor's strike hits, finding a gap in Ecnerwal's armour! A thin red line seeps through the light tunic underneath. "The first blood belongs to ME, traitor."

    ------

Vampire soldiers 1, 2, and 3 all knock arrows and rain them down on the party. Vampire Soldier 4 will attempt to break free from the spell like coma Zefeur put him under.

Bow! Vs Nowel: (1d20+3)[10] vs AC, (1d8+1)[2] damage if it hits.

Bow! Vs Zefeur: (1d20+3)[22] vs AC, (1d8+1)[9] damage if it hits.

Bow! Vs Alexander: (1d20+3)[8] vs AC, (1d8+1)[3] damage if it hits.

Nowel and Alexander are able to dodge the arrows, which clatter against the stone ground. However, the arrow aiming at Zefeur strikes true, jabbing into their shoulder, chunks of crumbling detritus spraying from the impact.

    ------

The Zombie Raptor's' turn, and it's hanging lower jay comedically sways as it looks at the archers, the black magics animating what remains of it's mind trying to figure out how to get it's way up to the archers. It'll move to I9, the squire unable to opportunity attack and Viktor not interested in the undead dinosaur, though he clearly makes a note of it.

    ------

The Squire is up next, and through grit teeth she'll swing her shortsword at Alexander twice, attempting to cut her way to Nowel.

Multiattack! Vs Alexander: (1d20+4)[12] vs AC, [roll]1d6+2p/roll] damage if it hits.
(1d20+4)[22] vs AC, [roll]1d6+2p/roll] damage if it hits.

Broke the damage rolls on this one, will fix. That said...

The squire's first blow is once again a miss, that she recovers into a stab at the stomach, piercing Alexander's side in the same spot as she hit Nowel!

    Con save: (1d20+1)[20]

    Wis save: (1d20)[9]

The blinded vampire manages to right himself, readying an arrow but not yet able to fire. The catatonic vampire continues to be tormented by the visions Zefeur's magic imparted to him.

Vampire Soldiers 2 and 3, continue raining down arrows, though they at least seem to be losing confidence. One arrow heads for Alexander, another for Nowel.

Arrow! Vs Alexander: (1d20+1)[9] vs AC, (1d8+1)[7] damage if it hits.

Arrow! vs Nowel: (1d20+1)[21] vs AC, (1d8+1)[7] damage if it hits.

The arrow headed for Alexander misses cleanly, thudding into the body of the dead squire instead. Rolling the result of the arrow headed for Nowel in my next post.

    ------

The zombie raptor dutifully heads towards the closest path it can find to get to the soldiers, as per Ecnerwal's orders.
