    Default Incorporeal Barbarian?

So if a PC gets the incorporeal subtype, they lose their STR score and basically pass through just about anything (like a ghost). So how can such a PC wield anything (weapons, armor, items, etc) if they'r incorporeal?

Also, how does such a PC damage enemies?

A ghost can wield a ghost touch weapon and savage species has some rules for making any magic item usable by incorporeals.

I've got a new fantasy TTRPG about running your own fencing school in a 3 musketeers pastiche setting. Book coming soon.

Check out my NEW sci-fi TTRPG about first contact. Cool alien races, murderous AIs, and more. New expansion featuring rules for ships! New book here NOW!

For a barbarian in particular, I'd suggest going with the whirling frenzy variant, instead of rage. And since incorporeal creatures tend to lose both their Str and Con scores, unless the character has some way to supplement (or outright replace) those stats for attack, damage, and time spent in a rage (/frenzy), said effect will only last for Con+3 rounds, or 3 rounds total.

Then again, with the Ghostly Grasp feat, he should still be able to apply the Str score he used to have, as he still has a corporeal body on the Ethereal Plane, which still has a Str score there. Assuming he's a ghost, that is.

Ghostwalk's Ghost template is a pretty easy fix to maintain your Con score, (and Str for that matter, but it's irrelevant 90% of the time due to incorporeality)

Fun fact: Ghostwalk (already mentioned for other reasons) tosses a bone (pun somewhat unintended) to Undead Barbarians:

Because undead are immune to fatigue, an undead barbarian is not penalized when a rage ends.
In regards to the OP: how did the character become Incorpreal?

The Phantom Template (MM5) offers the benefits of being incorporeal without most of the associated drawbacks.

    There is one more possibility:
Tremendous Charge feat (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) allow to use your mount's Str score for damage bonus
Shared Fury feat (Races of the Wild) allow to share effects of your Rage with your Animal Companion

So, dip in Beastmaster, ride your Animal Companion, Rage...

It's kinda roundabout way, and feat-heavy - Tremendous Charge, Mounted Combat, Shared Fury, Skill Focus (Handle Animal), very possible Ghostly Grasp, possible Natural Bond - but still works
