Björn steps up. "Same formation as before. Let's move out..."

And he begins heading back towards where they beat the men.

Bangs follows along with the others, eyes alert for another attack.

Okay, then ... the group follows their tracks back and airdrops into the hallway that led you to the personal effects room (see last map).

Now what?

Björn approaches the door opposite the one they opened last time and looks back at the group...

"Same tactics as last time..." and he prepares himself with drawn sword and readied shield.

Flair hefts his crossbow. He really didn't like these cramped corridors. These were only good if you had a heavily armored man in font with a pikeman and archers behind, and they didn't really have that. However he gets to the first door heading south in the corridor and sets himself up between the doors. After making sure his compatriots were ready, he quietly instructs Corbin to opens the door.

Clockwork Corvid, do you open the door, stepping to the side as you do so for Bjorn to be at the breech?

Uh oh.....

Corbin gives the door a once over for any suspicious devices, opening it and stepping aside if it's clear.

No matter how many times and how hard you get ready at the door, it seems that those on the other sides of these doors seem to be quicker and stealthier than you can manage. As Corbin opens the door and hops to the side, a woman in the same greasy yellow robes as the others you've fought is behind the door with a broken off piece of wood, and swings at Björn, clonking off his armor.

Begin Round One ...

R1T22: Corbin, what do you do? If you attack her, she has cover from the doorway.

Corbin is momentarily startled, before jumping into the fray with claws and beak.

R1T22: Corbin is momentarily startled before jumping into the fray with claws and beak. He manages to get a claw around the corner to graze the woman's belly for 4.

R1T21: Gaye rushes forward, and as she goes to pass the door to move northwards she successfully ducks out of the way of any hit. She gets behind Flair and looks forward to get a sense of things.

R1T19: Björn, a lone cultist in front of you with a makeshift weapon. You have shield and sword ready. What do you do?

Björn bellows "Surrender!!!" and lunges with his sword.

Spoiler: You wish to surrender to me? Very well. I accept.

R1T19: Björn bellows "Surrender!!!" and lunges with his sword and hitting her in the left upper leg for 16! She screams terribly.

R1T16: Zoo, what do you do?

Zoo extends his claws and swipes at woman trying to subdue her.

R1T16: Zoo extends his claws and swipes at woman trying to subdue her, slashing her along the side of the chest for 9 NL. This is enough to knock her out.

What now?

Björn holds his sword in a threatening manner... But then begins to control his breathing and slowly backs away allowing the healers to approach.

Maeni approaches and starts examining the sigil on the woman's forehead.

"I will heal her when we're ready."

Unfortunately, the sigil is not "whole" anymore. Blood and sweat and her arms smearing it on her way down ruined its "integrity." Still, it doesn't seem familiar to Maeni.

Bangs

Bangs after hearing Meani's offer, stops himself from moving forward, but shakes his head silently. Another mouth to feed, and another potential snake we are nurturing in our bosom. Bangs considers darkly, but doesn't speak up against healing the woman or escorting her back if that is what ultimately ends up happening.

Zoo kicks the woman's club away and checks to make sure there aren't any other people lurking in the room. Once he's satisfied he won't be clubbed again, he checks the woman for hidden weapons.

Flair had a frustrated look on his face as he pulled Bangs aside. "How tapped are you power wise? I want to be merciful, but keeping my team safe has to be my primary objective and I don't want to risk leaving us in the lurch in case something more powerful attacks. How do you weigh in on this?"

Bangs

"Meani said she would cover the healing this time so I won't be weakened further, but I am below half already." Bangs replies to Flair, Bangs then has a conflicted look on his face and says in a lower voice for only Flair to hear, "I do have a way to... extend... my healing ability. However, I would need to reach out to other minds in combat and... borrow... some of the energy that escapes on death."

Bangs shakes his head and says, "Best not to rely on that method too much in an emergency, but every little bit helps in a situation as tenuous as we find ourselves in."

Flair furrowed his brown at Bangs' confession. While the soul itself almost certainly wasn't harmed in such a process, it wasn't the most ethical way of charging power. "Yeah, it's probably for the best you keep that on the down low. We don't want people to think you're after souls or anything." He pauses for a half second before adding "I know you're not, but people talk. I'm not judging you though" He put his hand on his shoulder before heading to Maeni.

"You ready to wake her up?" he says to her. As soon as she gives the heads up, he puts the woman's weapon between him and them and gives her the same choices he gave the last guy.

Seeing Flair prepare for the interrogation, Bangs will drop Corbin temporarily from the collective to add their prisoner. Just in case she attempts something suicidal when she awakens.

Maeni, what do you do?

Meanwhile, concerning the room itself that you've found yourself in ... the handles of dozens of drawers frown from the faces of numerous matching cabinets. Many of the drawers are open and their contents - volumes' worth of stray parchments - blanket the floor. The room is 25' E-W x 15' N-S. There is a door to the west. There is a lot of superficial damage on the door, as if someone had been beating on it to get in.

What does everyone else do in the meantime?

Björn will cross to the door to examine it more closely sword at the ready.

He doesn't notice anything special about the door.

Maeni?

Anyone else?

Corbin starts picking through the parchment, grabbing some undamaged pieces for his personal supply, before heading over to listen at the door and examine it for locks and traps.

Is Corbin just looking for paper for paper's sake, regardless of what's on it, for his "personal supply?"

He listens at the door and doesn't hear anything, and a search doesn't reveal any traps.
