The party decides time is not on their side and rushes forward along the wooden fence toward the gate. As the round the corner they find four raiders, three in leather armor and wielding swords and crossbows, one in robes with a crossbow. They are attempting to set fires, but stop as soon as they see you.

Orolou Third Level Dream Circle Druid HP: 28/30 AC: 19 Buffs: None "Hmm, seems we'd be well rewarded with dividing their attention, as well as flanking them." He chuckles to himself quietly. "I have an old friend who would be perfect for the job, but I'll admit, he's quite... energetic. You two would get along, I imagine." He finishes, gesturing to the gnome. Orolou sighs... "40 years of shaping and it doesn't get easier." The druid reaches into his pack, grabs a handful of stark black granite, and throws it in the air, spinning his staff in the process. All at once he's surrounded with a large globe of green and blue lights, eventually swirling in and adhering to his body with a dense white light. With a small shudder, another form seems to appear, also clothed in white. The form keeps switching back and forth, more sporadically on the new form until it rests on what seems to be a mess of limbs and fur.

Six people quickly emerge from hiding up in the loft, one of which is wearing robes with the same insignia you saw before.

As they rain down javelins toward the dwarf, the robed man speaks.

"Only fools would dare challenge the might of the Cult of the Dragon!"

The Dwarf uses his reaction to Deflect Missile, lowering the damage of the first javelin to hit (R9) by (1d10+5)[9]. This lowered the damage to 0, so you may use a Ki point to make a ranged attack with the javelin. This attack deals 4 damage to R9 (see OoC).

"This is what happens when you raise your weapons against us! We knew you would rush to the defense of this building. You cretins will suffer for what you did at the church!"

Katharos Third Level Brute Fighter HP: 34/39 AC: 17 Buffs: None After quickly felling an enemy, Katharos thinks to herself how easy of a win this will be with only three more foes hiding behind the wheel. Perhaps it’s a little too easy... She hears a creak in the floorboards above her, looking towards the loft, she can see the bottoms of boots in between the uneven cracks of the floor. Just then the dwarf charges forward to fight. ”Wait! It’s an ambush!”She cried, but it was too late. Before she knew it she was pulling a javelin out of the exposed area between her breast plate and right pauldron. She winced as she yanked it, but it was not so deep. She walked forward to where the leader of this ambush was standing on the loft. As he droned on about how they were going to pay for what they did at the church, Katharos took a look around the mill. After he finished she looked up at the leader. “Wait a minute...You only brought ten guys to try to kill me?” His grin dropped as she pulled on her bow. Spoiler: Rolls Show Move to R10. Katharos' arrow hits the wooden walkway with enough force to nearly completely pierce the thick wood. The robed man looks smugly at the goliath.

Raj, atop the steeder, bursts through an upstairs window, surprising the cultist. The tabaxi tries to get a shot off from atop the energetic mount, but has difficulty aiming due to the arachnids quick, jittery movements. Raj almost falls off, accidentally firing his bow while trying to hold on. To both his and the steeders surprise, the leader falls to the ground with a heavy thud, a crossbow bolt sticking out from his forehead.

Meawhile, downstairs, a dart of fire flies past a raider, fizzling out before it hits the back wall. The Dwarf continues his beatdown on the injured raider, landing a solid uppercut.

The raiders press their numbers advantage, ganging up heavily against The Dwarf. The ones who can't reach him move against the rest of the party, one toward the mounted archer and one toward the mage.

The Dwarf does valiantly, but the whirlwind of swords all around him proves too much to navigate safely.

Bilxif takes aim at the bloodied raider and a bolt of fire streaks across the mill. Xif is so focused on moving into a better spot to take his shot, however, he accidentally drops his guard, giving the raider next to him a chance to strike. The raider lands a solid blow aginst the mage, though the preoccupied gnome seems to not notice his new gash until after he fires off the spell. The fire blast connects, taking the enemy down.

"COME CAT! OUR ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED TO FREE MORTAL COILS BELOW!" The Steeder moves, dragging the grappled enemy - he yells, wiggling, trying to free himself of one of her legs Spoiler: Move Show Move action: S11 "IT IS THE SPOOKIEST MONTH! The Dwarf

Though he is surrounded by foes, the Dwarf seems unfazed, as if he barely notices the mortal danger he is in. But while his face is showing serenity, his body is in action, attacking the foes with near supernatural speed. The monk lands a flurry of hits, culminating with a sudden and savage headbutt. The Dwarf retains his stoic look the whole time.

As the raider falls, you see a faint energy pulled from his body. It seems to empower the monk.

The party strikes back into the ambush viciously, causing numerous raiders to fall. The situation is much more even than at the start, but the danger has not yet passed.

"You were all fools to attack us!" yells one of the raiders. "We have a god damn dragon on our side!"

The raiders on the ground level continue their relentless attack on the surrounded dwarf, while the last remaining foe on the upper level moves to end the life of Bilxif.

The Dwarf shrugs off a few of the lesser attacks before one of the raiders connects with a solid blow, drawing blood. The monks calm facade cracks briefly, but he is quick to regain his tranquil expression.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Bilxif is much less calm. He barely ducks under the sword aimed straight at his head. His hat is less lucky, however, and falls to the floor. It is undamaged, but now much more dirty.

The Dwarf is [Badly Wounded] at 16/36

Unbeknownst to all, two new people have arrived on the scene. One, a human, apparently unarmed and the other something other than human, well armed and armored.

Valacor Third Level Hexblade HP: 27/27 AC: 16 Buffs: Valacor quickly moved to follow Anorim, but as he stops to take aim at the raider in the window he smirked and crouched low to the ground. "I'll deal with him little mage." he said with a smirk before dark bat like wings spread behind him and he jumped into the air and stretching his right hand out at the Raider (R5). Dark energies rapidly gathered around his hand before coming together and shooting at him in a beam of Eldritch Energy. Spoiler: Actions Show Move to O4, 10ft in the air. Greenest, Round 4

Pushing into their foes, the party strikes fast. The spider slams two raiders together gleefully, seemingly forgetting about its rider entirely. Raj lets loose a bolt but finds it much too difficult to aim and nearly hits Katharos. Kath doesn't even notice though as she brings her formidable strength to bear and turns one living raider into two dead half-raiders.

The two newcomers join the fight with a bang, both blasting the raider upstairs. Bilxif is suitably confused as to what killed his attack, but glad nonetheless.

Now free to cast, Bilxif steps forward and launches a jet of fire down, connecting with the injured raiders head. The Dwarf, now no longer surrounded, seems to snap out of his serene disposition and locks eyes with his last remaining foes. He never blinks even once as he savagely beats his foes into the ground.

Ra'jodar Third Level Thief HP: 30/30 AC: 15 Buffs: None Not paying much mind to the man's words, Raj notices something is off while searching the building and the raiders, and informs the others. "Hmm..Ra'jodar feels uneasy about this. See the fires, yes? How they are placed? Nothing to burn, only smoke. The robed men and scaly ones were wanting attention. This one thinks we should head back." Enemies Slain: 13

Greenest, 1:48 A.M.

The group recognizes the newcomers from the group of mercenaries who came with them from the caravan and quickly and tersely reintroduce themselves. The tabaxis words have put them on edge.

The time passes slowly, and the party is sure every noise they hear is an incoming counter attack. But as the minutes tick by, it seems more and more likely that your foray into the town has gone unnoticed by the invaders. In the distance you still can hear the occasional group of kobolds or raiders, but none come by the mill. It seems the bulk of the force has began to fall back, and Bilxif spots many heavily loaded wagons leaving town under heavy guard.

It should be relatively easy to follow the tracks of these carts once the attack is over, since they're weighed down so heavily.

Greenest, 2:04 A.M.

Bilxif, still seeing through the eyes of his owl, spots a group of town guard moving towards the mill, hiding themselves along the riverbank. They move quickly and before long have arrived. The guards number over a dozen soldiers and ensure you they can hold the mill.

The keep is particularly vulnerable right now with so few men protecting it.

The party helps the guards prepare a few defenses. Afterwards, they wait for an opening and head back toward the keep.

Greenest, 2:27 A.M.

Emerging once again from the hidden tunnel entrance, the group finds themselves back in the relatively safe walls of the keep. The Dwarf is taken to the barracks for what sparse medical treatment they can provide while the rest of the party is debriefed by Governor Nighthill and Captain Escobart. The captain is happy his men made it safely and the governor seems overjoyed that the mill was spared.

"Try'n res' while ye can," Escobart says. "With luck, we're through tha worst'a it now."

Worn out and without much left to say, everyone goes about their evening trying their best to rest as the raiders finish ransacking the town around you.

Greenest, 4:17 A.M.

Time goes by slowly. Everyone in the keep is tense. Is the mill still safe? Was there more we could do to save people? The keep feels very unguarded with so many men wounded or at the mill.

Restless, the party finds itself in the barracks.

Suddenly, you hear someone shout out. An attack, maybe? Has the dragon returned? You move quickly to ready yourself for yet another battle. Before you can prepare, you hear an alarm bell ringing outside.

"Raiders are inside! They're commin' through tha blasted sally port!" you hear Escobart yell.

A sally port is a small heavily fortified side gate into a castle, usually used to launch counterattacks when an attacking force tries to set up a ram or other siege weapon.
