His sword slams against magical protection, but Jean's dark focus carries his attack through to Ulver's left foot for 20.

R4T18: Zoo, what do you do?

R4T18: Zoo tries again to put Ulver down. He claws Ulver's chest for 9, and a kick to the head with a hoof for 7 is enough to drop Ulver to the ground, seemingly unconscious.

R4T15: Gaye does a coup de grace to Ulver with her rapier, stabbing him right in the heart.

R4T12: Lord Hanley delays ...

R4T7: Haru, roll a Fort save and define your actions. You take 2 NL bleed.

R4T7: In addition to multiple edemas that are getting larger, Haru is once again wracked by intense pain, taking 3 NL + 1 DEX + 1 CON.

"Help ... healing. Won't stand ... long," he coughs out, even as everyone senses the bloodthirsty effect they felt from Haru come to an end (totem of war has ended). Haru waits for someone to come to him to aid him now.

R5T19.5: Akbar continues his hairy eyeball on Ulver while asking, "Gaye stabbed him through the heart, but is he truly dead?"

He then adds, "I'm sorry. I don't know what Ulver did to Haru, and I have no medical skill."

R5T19: Jean looks up at the only one of the party known to have healing powers. "Gaye?"

R5T18: Zoo retracts his claws and tries his best to tend to Haru's wounds, but having knowledge of only his morphable form he is at a loss.

R5T15: Gaye studies Haru to try to figure out what might be wrong with him from what she has seen. She looks to Jean and the rest. "This spell effect is similar to some arcane casters and psychics - a powerful one called excruciating deformation. I might be able to stop the massive edema, but I can't do anything about the spell. If someone can boost his Haru's bodily defenses, that might help, but otherwise he has to ride it out."

She tends to Haru, and while not able to effect the very painful effect, she does stop the non-lethal bleeding.

R5T12: Lord Hanley pushes through and climbs over top of Ulver's fallen body.

Haru drop to the ground and lean against the wall, forcing himself to focus as he tries to throw off the magic through the pain.

R5T7: Haru drops to the ground and crawls towards the closest wall, forcing himself to focus as he tries to throw off the magic through the pain. As it is, the closest place to lie down is not a wall (for that contains sharp rubble), but Ulver Zandalus's pile of mattresses, whereupon Haru just releases his physical energy in hopes that that will help. So far, he is able to fight off the pain this round, his body glowing.

R6T20-19.5: The wounds Ulver suffered, and his natural orifices, all begin spewing clouds of thick, yellow smoke, covering a surprised Lord Hanley. Akbar gets his friends' attention. "We have a development...."

Everyone else is delaying and can go (except Haru, who is unconscious) ...

Now confident that Haru is out of the fog for the time being, Zoo pads back to the body of Ulver and begins searching the cadaver.

"Don't!" Jean shouts, though he's too late to stop Zoo from walking willingly back into the mist. Trapped himself between Bjorn, the mist and the wall, Jean backs further up into the corner of the room.

R8T16: Now confident that Haru is out of the fog for the time being, Zoo pads back to the body of Ulver and begins searching the cadaver. He sniffs out Ulver's body just fine, but there is another smell even as the entire area around him fills up with the yellow fog. A smell he has trouble recognizing. It seems strangely reminiscent of the Grays, and yet not.

R8T14: And there, in the midst of the mists stands a creature that reminds them both of a dream that Zoo and Jean once had .... and as Jean and Zoo both look at that terror, they are struck with fear and a sense that this thing should not be.

Meanwhile, Haru suffers from a seizure in the far corner.

Jean & Zoo, roll two Will saves. The first is a SAN check, and the second is fear-based!

End of Previous Combat, Begin New Combat ...

R1T20: Björn, the west is thick with yellow smoke and you can't see too deeply in. Yet, you hear an evil laugh that sounds familiar, like from a terrible dream you once had. What do you do?

"No... Not him... The... dre... the man from... my... Dreams! Rrrrraaaawwww!!"

And Björn charges into the mist looking for this foe to smite .

R1T20: "No... Not him... The... dre... the man from... my... Dreams! Rrrrraaaawwww!!" And Björn charges south through the mist looking for this foe to smite, his heart full of fear as he goes. Nestling into the southern part of the room, he finds his target and stabs at him with the oversized masterwork silver dagger, actually just scoring a hit in the Tatterman's neck for 12, but the Tatterman - against the western wall - cannot be pushed.

But even terrified as he is, and even despite scoring a strike in that terror, what Björn stabbed wildly truly is like something out of a terrible dream.

R1T19: Gaye steps over to Haru to give him aid, casting CLW on him for 9, and bringing the tiefling to consciousness. To her credit, her efforts to save her teammate keep her from succumbing to fear.

R1T18: Jean, you are still in leaping spirit stance, and you are still protected and buffed with both shield and lead blades. You may be dealing with your own demons right now (previous discussion regarding a failed check), but that means that fear for you is a strange, yet comfortable, bedfellow to which you show no more deference than accepting that like everyone else in this room, the Tatterman does not have your best interests in mind. Luckily for the heroes, first blood is scored for your side as the northman stabbed the Tatterman in the neck. What do you do?

The thing could bleed. It could bleed, it could be killed, it could be made to go away and he wouldn't have to see or hear or think about it ever again. But Bjorn had struck it. How could Bjorn have struck a nightmare? Held sloppily in a two-handed stance, he chopped at the thing's bandaged head.

Even though neither saw the casting, both recognized the verbal components of the vanish spell, which is a very short duration invisibility that last no more than 30 seconds.

R1T15: Zoo, you hear an evil giggle above your head, and you are already shaken. What do you do?

The dog form melts away leaving the man behind. He backs away quickly, whispering "No, no, no." over and over again, pausing only to speak the words to create a field of grasping vines.

R1T15: The dog form melts away leaving the man behind. He backs away quickly, whispering "No, no, no." over and over again, pausing only to speak the words to create a field of grasping vines. The effort from the various changes and the rare effect of bringing forth plants in the Dream Dimension when there is no viable soil causes Zoo pain.

R1T12: Akbar gets ready to toss a fire ray if the Tatterman makes himself known. He is terrified, but his answer to his anger is to burn the source of his fear.

R1T8: Lord Hanley, visibly shaken darts west to hide behind a wall between himself and the Tatterman's last known position.

R1T6: Haru heroically throws off the last bits of the excruciating deformation and is finally free of it, but the laughing in the mist makes him think back to something familiar ... and terrifying. Haru, you are prone and staggered. Roll a Will save vs. a fear effect. What do you do?
