You can probably guess, by this point, that I would legitmately watch the unholy fracking crap out of that if that was A Thing.

(And "Dalek Who" as a concept has crossed my mind more than once, to be honest.)

If you wanna go extra-creepy, dozens of Angels in varying states of erosion staring down a single Dalek. "An image of an angel [captured in a Dalek's eyestalk-camera] is an angel," after all. The Dalek would just keep making, and arresting, more.

You know the number of times the Doctor Who thread has died because the conversation dried up between series and someone has just made a new one when the show returned to our screens? Enough times that I've lost count.

Since I was starting the last set of DW threads (which I believe was the first time we got past 1 thread before dying), I did consider this question, but I never decided what I was going to do and the conversation dried up in thread 6 anyway.

Hey, this Doctor's got some moves! Nice!
Overall, I liked it. I especially liked the twist of not actually sacrificing Aaron to defeat the Dalek.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't some level of regeneration and durability already been established as part of the Dalek package? Remember those Daleks in the sewers of Davros' new Skaros during Capaldi's run?

ETA: I'd say there is a payoff to the flashback scene, only it's thematic, not plot-related: what defeated the Dalek, both in the past and in the present, wasn't higher tech or superior firepower, but humanity banding together.

What's amusing to me is, whenever I see someone replace a ceiling light bulb I do feel the compulsive need stand near them and watch regardless of how objectively irrelevant it is to the process.

Finally got to see the New Year's special, and I liked it. Yes, there are some things you can nitpick, but overall it was pretty good IMO.

Just found out Twitch is running a mini-marathon of Dalek episodes from Classic Who starting this Sunday. As far as I can tell it includes all the Dalek serials that survive in full, including some like Remembrance of the Daleks that sometimes don't get screened due to rights issues - I don't think the full Twitch marathon in January included anything after Genesis of the Daleks.

Sadly it doesn't include any of the reconstructions of missing episodes, so several First Doctor stories aren't included and there's nothing at all from the Second Doctor except for his appearance in The Five Doctors. Still, well up for it!
