Most likely carried for symbolic/ religious purposes. Maybe it's their holy symbol or something.

    Höðr

Höðr (Old Norse: Hǫðr [ˈhɔðr] (About this soundlisten); often anglicized as Hod, Hoder, or Hodur)[a] is a blind god and a son of Odin and Frigg in Norse mythology. Tricked and guided by Loki, he shot the mistletoe arrow which was to slay the otherwise invulnerable Baldr.

Hodr is associated to bows, since that is what he was tricked into using to kill another god.

And that's all I will say, because Religion.

Yes, the acolyte implies as much, the blindfold is worn for religious purposes, they're not actually blind (his High priestess is, though).

Huh, for some reason I came away with the impression that he and the other gods were throwing things at Baldr/er/ur, not using any kind of launcher. I suppose being used as an arrowhead makes the lethality of it that much more plausible.

So yeah, I guess "ceremonial object" makes as much sense as anything.

Depends which version you read. In some versions the object was a spear, thrown by hand. So you're not wrong there.

The name Andromeda can suggest the idea of strain, an apt association for an airship's engineer, particularly this one.

If her surname were actually Strain, that would make her uprising the Strain Mutiny, although I wouldn't lay any stress on that.

In the normal comic, there are 4 rows of panels per page.
In comics where the gods are the main focus, there are only three rows per page.

Or as an alternative, V was bluffing and was trying to extort more money from Miko.

I never noticed how different V's attitudes are between this Miko scene and when he is on the Azurite ship. Here he's all "I don't want to squander my power!". Later, he's turned into a capitalist that will gladly invest his power to gain XP, and, therefore, more power.

Even if V was bluffing, being V, I believe the distance's estimation is reasonably precise, because that's how V rolls.

In another thread, we've discussed the possibility of a few plane-shifting survivors from previous worlds (probably descendants from the original survivors). Just now I realize we had proof of that in this strip's last panel.
