I've just noticed that the traditional dwarven blessing requires a beard but, unfortunately, female dwarves in OotS don't sport one. I wonder if there is a different blessing when you know the High Priest to be female? Maybe the pigtails?

Turns out "beard" is actually a trinket that is ritually given to dwarves upon coming of age, and has nothing to do with any sort of body part.

The article in the strip is "a" traditional dwarven blessing, not "the" traditional dwarven blessing, so your surmise about female high priestesses is almost certainly correct.

From that strip, I've just noticed that one of the reasons Durkon wants to come home is to meet his mother and grandfather since they're surely wondering what's been happening to him for all these years. We later find out from the return letter Miko fails to deliver that both the High Priest and Durkon's grandfather have been dead for some time.

However, we've recently found out that Durkon has been in contact with his mother - daily - for the past 18 years. Now, 25-100 words isn't exactly room for a newsletter, but he was clearly able to keep his mother abreast of what's going on with the Order and something as important as "your grandfather passed away last night" is surely something his mother would have told him in return.

Sigdi says Durkon has been Sending every week since he learned the spell. We don't know exactly when that happened. It might not have been immediately when the spell became available.
If I were to guess I would say he probably learned it after the fall of Azure City. Before then the team was mostly in the same place so the use of Sending would be limited. Can't recall him using the spell on page before Bleedingham at least.

Thanks to you linking to that comic just now, I noticed that Odin's representative says "I see worlds within worlds and yarn winding yarn." Hmm. HMMM. Especially since Odin looks puzzled when Durkon mentions the planet in the rifts in #1150. Lots to think about there.

Odin doesn't seem to remember all the things at all times, though he is probably alluding to using TDO to fix the rifts. "Yarn winding yarn" -> a prophecy (Durkon) whose goal is to prepare another scenario (Redcloak).
Or maybe it just sounds clever and mystical.

It could be all of that! Or none! Or most! Or a little! Or... you know what, I think you get the idea.

For me personally, I'm inclined to read "worlds within worlds" as a direct reference to the planet in the rifts, and "yarn winding yarn" as a Snarl reference specifically; the Snarl is... doing something? Creating something? So interesting to think about.

And it's true, Thor told us that Odin is not quite lucid at all times, so maybe his not-remembering is just that. But what if it isn't?
