    Pretty sure that's just Thog forgetting he's not supposed to remember scenes he wasn't in.

    He's not exactly good with that sort of things.

    This makes more sense
    Because Thog is afraid of girls. They have cooties.

    Vampire Durkon spacing out after becoming free-willed is eerily similar to his final moments of existence. I wonder what was going on in that head.

    Also from #907, basically everything Nale says in the third row ended up being true: vampires have a transitional period of absorbing all memories until the host soul becomes dormant (and siding with the Linear Guild actually would have helped, since he wouldn't have needed to absorb so many memories at once to impersonate Durkon), vampires are their own evil counterparts ("And that's who I am. Your worst day personified."), he drinks the blood of his former friends, and he makes thralls of his own. Perhaps the workings of vampirism was one of the things Malack taught Nale (first panel) or he had been obsessively researching them for as long as he wanted to slay Malack, since apparently the information does exist out there despite its obscurity.

    Z actually has pretty much nothing similar to Drizt Do’Urden. He really shouldn't even be considered a parody. Z's class and alinement are different, their characters and motivations are nothing alike. Z wielded scimitars at one point and that's about it.

    In Start of Darkness, the leaders the Dark One assembled were possibly the then-rulers of Nowhere, Somewhere, and Anywhere. One greatly resembles Eugene, so that's presumably the King of Nowhere since the Greenhilts can be mistaken for Nowhere royaty. The other male head of state has the same colour palette as the current King of Somewhere.

    Near the climax of Don't Split the Party, Vaarsuvius gets in the tangle with the Ancient Black Dragon because V was "so arrogant as to assume that you had not made any enemies," and near the climax of the next book, V helps take out the Vector Legion because Tarquin was so arrogant as to assume that he had not made any enemies.

    That's part of the joke. He is a parody of the idea that Drizzt is the standard that all N/PC tries to emulate, regardless of how far fetched.

    He's clearly taking advantage of it. Think Haley asks if Dark Elves aren't evil (while the LG are acting Good) and the reply is "no the whole PC race are really good aligned rebels".

    Okay, that make some sense.

    On the completely unrelated topic: Durkon mentioned that he wants to be buried next to his father (and his grandfather and his greatgrandfather and his....), but technically there is no body in the grave.

    "As far as church concerned, those are his remains", but still.

    You can see the hand of one of Sigdi's soldiers pulling her away by the shoulder. That's why she didn't die with Tenrin.

    I'd noticed one or two of them before, but I didn't put together that each of the dinner party companions, immediately after being raised, say something that speaks to what they do with their second chances at life:

    -Thirden does, indeed, go finish his bard training.
    -Shirra does, in fact, end up owning the copper mine;
    -We know Kandro trained Durkon in his use of hammer and shield, so presumably he himself got weapons training so he could head into (and eventually die in) battle;
    -The unnamed lady dwarf who says her family line almost ended with her has a son, Logann.

    Hoskin is the only one that doesn't say anything specific, but the only thing Durkon tells us about him is that he kept Durkon on the straight and narrow. (Also, Thirden tells us he's asked Sigdi to marry him numerous times.)

    So we know Nale really wanted to get out of his father's shadow, right?

    That explains a bit why he hates Elan too; he saw too much of their father in him, and it probably doesn't help that he looks a LOT like him too.

    Which probably explains why he got that pissed at Julia suggesting he shave off his beard - he very well might have grown one intentionally to look different.

    Also, the clothes that Tarquin are wearing strongly resemble the ones Nale wears during the "date" with Haley, minus the sash - so those were probably his old dress clothes when he was still with the Empire.

    Does this count?

    So, it is possible that Redcloak was acting as a father figure for Right Eye, until he grew up. I doubt someone else would caretake a random goblin child. If that's the case, that adds to the ending.

    What I hadn't noticed about that strip is that Amun-Zora's city is the Free City of Doom.

    Meaning that, when you think of the adjectival form (i.e., Azure City => Azurite, Empire of Sweat => Sweaters), Amun-Zora and her people are Doomed.

    And what I hadn't noticed until I started typing out this comment is that the Sweaters' name has a hilarious double meaning.
