Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
One of my friends was once shocked that I didn't ask a couple of Korean ladies for their phone numbers. I quite honestly hadn't noticed they were flirting with me*. In fact I'm still trying to work out if the girl I like is a) single and b) interested in me, although I'm strongly suspecting the answer is no for both.
* Apparently it's not that unusual, especially when I'm thinner. I'm apparently considered handsome, fairly sociable, and occasionally funny.

Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
I bet there's a way to find out.
Also, from-Korea Korean or from-elsewhere Korean? I only ask because traditionally Koreans date by having all her friends come along with. I don't know if it's getting less common or not, but I do know it's significantly less common if they're not from Korea.Cuthalion's art is the prettiest art of all the art. Like my avatar.

Try 120 pixels, that's the maximum size of the avatar before it starts clipping.

I don't think my project lead has realised yet that everytime they ask "Are you sure?" after I send them a detailed problem report, I'm going to spend yet another half an hour down the lab with my notebook and thick booklets of hardware documentation making absolutly sure I didn't overlook some detail or get something the wrong way around. Today I was made an embassador of the internal cabling of the test object. Have I mentioned that I was supposed to be the software guy on this team?Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
Oh, I assume they were single, seeing as quite a few people had their partners with them I honestly would have asked one of them out or for her number if I realised they were flirting, they were cute. But eh, that was like half a decade ago.
I think I've got the first one down, and definitely have the second one. Now it's just a matter of time

The real reason why I started dancing at the court is because that I made my very first shot and I was happy that I made the shot. I wasn't expecting that the cheerleaders wanted to see me danced but they did like my dancing. So I guess that huge props for me then.

Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
Did I ever tell y'all about my first D&D campaign? My siblings were my party, and my dad was the DM, and since we were all kids he did a lot of our character background.
My character was a sorcerer, part of a magicians' guild. This guild had a ranking system based on the idea that knowledge was power - so the highest-ranking member was called "University," lower ranks were called "books," and the lowest were "paper." Being the lowest, newest member, I was paper suitable only for restroom use - or, since this is a medieval setting, the "Garderobe"
My oldest sister was in a fighters' guild with a similar system, where the highest rank was the "Ballista" and the lowest rank was "Club." Being the lowest, newest member, she wasn't even a good club - more of a "Switch"
My other sister was a rogue in an engineers' guild - again, similar ranking system. I don't remember what the higher ranks were, but the lowest was a plumb-line - and as the lowest, newest member, her rank was just "Line," not even having a useful weight.
So we were the Line, the Switch, and the Garderobe.
That's a The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe pun if you didn't get it.

I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

It might just be my upbringing being saturated with Radio 4* comedy panel shows, but I've always quite liked wordplay with ridiculously lengthy lead-ups to the punchline. Wkipedia informs me that his is known as a Feghoot.
*For the non-brits, that's the BBC radio station that plays host to non-music content, mostly comedy, current events programmes and audio dramas.

Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
Random, silly thought I just had. What is your favorite word? In any language, not just english.
Mine is 'Righteous'. It feels awesome to say. It can be used as an expression of approval, it can be used as an expression of excitement. It's triumphant and enthusiastic. It doesn't sound weird when you say it multiple times in a row.
It's Righteous!

Re: Bartmanhomer's Ultimate Random Banter Thread #219
I've always quite liked the words "defenestration" and "cthonic", just because they're fun to say. I also have a degree of sympathy for "*****rd", due to it being so often confused with a certain other word of completely unrelated etymology (this one comes from the Old Norse "nigla", meaning "concerned with small matters" while the *ahem* other one comes from Latin) and thus having to fall out of use to avoid confusion.
Edit: My third choice appears to be suffering from S****horpe Syndrome, but I suppose that does rather serve to illustrate why I feel so sorry for it.Last edited by SZbNAhL; 2018-10-17 at 01:39 PM.
