Deva and Supernal
I have a Deva Bard with Traveling Missionary background. Supernal can't be learned as one of your starting languages, but since Traveling Missionary background allows me to learn an extra language I decided to pick Supernal. Rules allow it, and my DM agreed. Now, if a mortal learns Supernal they don't get the ability to be understood automatically, but Devas have Immortal Origin. Does that mean I get to use Supernal to it's full potential?

"Immortals that speak Supernal can understand speech and writing in any language."
"When a god or angel speaks Supernal, it can choose to speak so that any creatures that understand a language can understand this divine speech, as if the speaker used their own languages. "
You are not a god or an angel. So you can understand speech and writing in any language, but you cannot make yourself understood. Nor can you speak the words of power.

At least I can understand all languages. That's sweet. Thanks.

There is a paragon tier feat, Remembered Mother Tongue, that gives you that ability.

I'm definitely taking that, it's too much fun to pass up.
