My dad vaguely remembers a parody of the Banana Boat Song (Day-O), in the sense that he remembers a couple lines from it:

Do you have any idea of the era or context of when he heard it? That might help with searching.

Probably with his gaming buddies or something? I don't think it was at a concert or anything like that.

I guess I was just wondering if it was likely to be something more likely to have been printed in an old gaming zine or in an old filk zine to help think of new places to search. I have some ideas of where to look for indexes to old filk zines, less for old gaming ones, but someone else on this board probably has a better idea about old gaming zines than I would. Knowing roughly what decade, and which country and region he was living in at the time, might also help if it was something he picked up at a con or through the local geek scene generally.

(I spend a lot of time listening to and archiving recordings of filk at cons. My focus is mostly the Pacific Northwest with occasional excursions to California. I don't happen to know this particular song, though. I'll keep an ear out.)
