Ashyr feels the rush of the divine, almost like warmth makes the poison bubble back out of her wound, along with the spike. The pain is still there, but her speed is back, making the genasi grin. Vitharyan's valiant assault draws most of the enemy fire away from Ana and Jonir (thankfully, as they seem to just... stand there in the open), while Dorn, in his wonderful Dorn-y fashion, crashes into the kruthik in front of Ashyr, just as planned. The creature, just as predictably, wants to turn to this new and very painful threat, only for the blue-skinned woman to knock it with the edge of her shield, stepping back to dodge a quick haphazard reaction. Attention diverted away from the real threat.

"Give 'em hell!" Ashyr shouts, to the team, but to Dorn in particular. It appears she needs to be a little less subtle with her help, so he can very much feel the moment of focus and the heightened drive to just batter the kruthik into submission, pushed by the genasi's powerful voice. Sadly, even with the powerful strike, the creature is slippery, managing to avoid Dorn's wrath.

As he was swarmed, Vitharyan raised his shield, the two leaner, smaller, kuthak battered against his shield to now avail, their chittering and clacking increasing with intensity as they did. However, by adjusting his stance for their assault, he had only his sword to defend against the larger, more massive creature attacking from his right, he tried to parry it's jaws, but they brushed aside his blade, closing forcefully on his upper arm, while his mail protected against the mandibles had he not been wearing armor the bite would have severed his arm, slicing clean through flesh and bone.

He surveyed the battle field, Dorn was still covered in the caustic slime that had been spewed upon him, though Ashyr seemed to no longer be suffering from it's effects, given her voice still echoed through the field, giving direction to her allies, "How's our Dorn?!?!" He baited, as he spied an opening between the two smaller kuthak, turning through, "Surely you'll have some scathing opinion on our tactics once these bugs and squashed!"

His withdrawal provided him a better line on the larger insect-lizard, and he inhaled sharply, his frills puffing out. When he exhaled, a wash of brilliant orange and red flames spewed forth surrounding the form of the Kuthaks. As they reared back to protect themselves from it's intensity, he turned, driving his sword in a vicious arc at the second smaller creature.

OOC: Move action to shift to O8, Minor action to Dragon Breath [Close Blast 3, P8-R8, extending up to P5-R5, affecting YOU1 & KRU2. (1d20+3)[15] vs REF. If it hits it inflicts (1d6+3)[7] Fire damage. As per Draconic Challenge any enemy *targeted* (Not hit, thank Torm!) by Dragon Breath is subject to Divine Sanction until EoNT. I will then use my Standard action to attack YOU2, with Enfeebling Strike, (1d20+7)[26] vs AC, if it hits, (1d8+4)[5] damage. Since my initial DS lasts until the end of my turn YOU2 is still Marked, therefore if ENfeebling Strike *does* hit, YOU2 takes a -2 to all attack rolls until EoNT. But will remain unsanctioned once my actions resolve.

He lets out a battle cry to fight through it and takes another swing at the creature. With most worse for wear, the kruthiks show no sign of stopping their assault. As insect-like beasts, a drive for self preservation seems lacking.

Vitharyan's brows drew together, concerned with the Ashyr and Dorn were bloodied and battered from the insectoid's relentless assault, and he was tied up with two of the damn beasts. However the spray of thorns seemed to have unbalanced them, so he decided to take the gamble, with a deep breath he drew upon his faith, his duty and his devotion. A pure white light began to coalesce above his head and as he lashed out at the larger of the Kruthik's a fiery halo appeared above his broad head, blinding in it's brilliance.

Then he moved, chancing providing his opponents with an opening, as he charged to Ashyr's side, he reached out, his hand glowing with that selfsame light. "Do not falter in your duty Lady Ashyr, your companions have need of you!"

OOC: Yeah, probably going to regret this, however, blowing my Daily because two of us are getting our asses beat. So Majestic Halo it is, starting at O8, I will attack KRU2, (1d20+7)[8], if that hits (3d8+4)[11], Radiant. I will then move to L7, adjacent to both the KRU1 & Ashyr, drawing AoO from YOU1 & KRU2. Once adjacent to Ashyr, I will use a minor action to lay on hands, spending 1 of my surges and allowing her to heal for her Surge value. However, due to Majestic Crown's effect until End of Encounter any enemy starting it's turn adjacent to me is subject to my Divine Sanction. Meaning it drops off of YOU1 & KRU2, but will affect KRU1 at the beginning of his turn.

On a Miss, because it's a Daily, it does Half damage (5) & the end of encounter sanction effect is still in place. Man what a ****ty roll lol!

Yeah, this is starting to hurt. Ah well, the creatures have it worse, Ashyr just needs to get rid of the one in front of her, give Dorn a little shot in the arm, and with Vith having the rest pinned down, everything will be just pea-

In that moment, Ashyr sees Vitharyan barrel towards her, leaving the other creatures unattended, drawing fire, only to heal her a little bit.

"...what." Well. This suddenly got a lot worse. Jonir can still maneuver, but really needs to get out of dodge now, Ana can't retreat without stopping her glorious barrage.

Well... time to salvage this mess.

Suddenly, Ashyr whips around the kruthik in front of her, letting her sword deliberately clang on its plating to throw it off, having Vith attack it from the flanked position, but that strike also just glides off the chitin.

"Dorn!" Ashyr shouts, the half-orc feeling a rush of adrenaline at actually being adressed by her commander voice for once. "Mess 'em up!" And she points her sword towards the two creatures menacing Ana and Jonir, especially the one in front of Ana.

As the creatures claws slashed deep, penetrating the shield, and savaging the Dragonborn's shoulder he howled, a roar of pain, and of fury. As he did so he drew back his long sword and plunged it deep between the exposed plates of the Kruthak's segmented chest. A spastic click of it's mandibles, followed by it's body heaving weightily to the earth told Vitharyan that his blade had struck true, and the monstrosity was finally dead.

He whirled his head, quickly taking in the situation, the second reptillian insect thing had attacked the elven druid, savagely tearing his blade free in an arc of thick ropy ichor, Vitharyan ignored the pain and fatigue that was even now settling in and threw himself across the battlefield at the groups final foe.

OOC: Move Action: Shift to K8; Standard Action: Enfeebling Strike against KRU1. +10 vs AC [includes +2 for CA; +1 for Dragonborn Fury] (1d20+10)[20], Damage (1d8+4)[12]. Jonir winces slightly at the bruising he had taken shifting into his feline form and then raking at the insect in an effort to shift it away from himself and Ana while keeping it within reach of Vitharian. This completed he fades back a pace or two, enough to open some distance, but carefully enough to offer the Kruthik an opening.

The last standing combatant. With its insectile wit and intelligence, it knows not to flee for self preservation. The hive can create more adults and drones to carry on, but it also needs food to grow. The Kruthik turns, uncaring of injuries, and continues its assault towards Vith.

With the one remaining kruthik still living, Ashyr starts to close in to seal the deal. This chance encounter has been rather costly. She should start preparing plans for a temporary retreat when assaulting the gobbo fortress.

"Ana!" the genasi calls out as she moves closer, the sound causing a rush of adrenaline, the sorceress firing a bolt of energy at the creature. Ashyr doesn't have the time or speed to flank the creature, but she can set something up for Dorn, to hopefully close things out soon.

Ashyr is quite impressed with the burst of fire slamming into the kruthik, courtesy of Ana (courtesy of Ashyr's command). "Oh my, I didn't know you enjoy my cues this much," she jests. A little something at the end. Morale is everything.

Vitharyan sidestepped the beast's lunging assault, supporting his shield against it's vicious talons with a broad shoulder. He staggered under the bulk of it's weight, moving to his left, shifting the creatures attention, providing Dorn with a clear path to attack. He then squared his feet, shifted his hips, and drove his sword downwards, fueled by the righteous fury of Torm, it sliced deep through the chitin, a black ichor seeping through the punctured carapace.

OOC: Move action to shift from O9-P9 to provide Dorn with a clear charge line should he choose. I will then attack with Enfeebling Strike, +8 vs AC (incl Dragonborn Fury) (1d20+8)[23], (1d8+4)[10] Radiant damage. As KRU2 is still marked if that connects, KRU2 takes a -2 to attacks until EoNT.

Dorn takes a breath, feeling the pain and heaviness of the poison easing. He stalks around Jonir, lining up a flank with Vith, and charges the final creature, striking from behind. With one final deep slash, the last of the kruthik falls limp and lifeless. A deep sigh of relief can be shared amongst the party as the tension of this hunting pack's attack subsides. Left after the small clouds of dust settles is the remainder of the dirt road, and the entrance to Rivenroar Castle, a downward slop of stairs leading into the dimly lit abyss of a once above ground temple to the long lost royalty of the Vale.

"Phew! Alright, quick breather and we're on the road again!" Ashyr goes and shakes the fatigue from her body, for the most part, becoming right as rain after a few minutes, idle chatting shared with the party having much the same effect.

He marches over to Morrik and grabs the hobgoblin, Come 'ere ya little ****! With one hand on his shirt and the other on the back of his neck, Dorn drags the hobgoblin to the dead kruthik, Think yer clever? Huh? He kicks Morrik's feet out from under him and pushes the hob's face mere inches from one of the kuthrik's spines, Marchin' us right into a bug's nest without a peep! Hopin' we'd be poisoned, hopin' the bugs woulda done what you can't?! He pushes the struggling hob closer to the spine, as if to impale him through the eye, Next time I get one o' these in me, you get one too. So you better give us some proper warning on everything there is to know in these parts, if you wanna keep both yer eyes! Without warning, he lifts the hob back up to his feet and lets him go, pushing him away from him, Stay useful Morrik. If ya aint useful, we got no need fer ya. Dorn says as he retrieves his sword. After wiping his blade clean, Dorn checks where the spine hit him, Yeah, mostly a scratch. Was that poison that did most the work. Spoiler: Short Rest Show Spend one surge.

Gethmara watched as Dorn abused their captive, part of him wished to struggle to his fight, the other though, believed that, perhaps, Morrik's guarantee's of loyalty were less than honest. He continued to bind his shoulder, before securing the pauldron over his shield arm. He shook his head as he approached the hobgoblin, lifting him from the dirt and brushing the mud from his ragged tunic. "Look at him Morrik," he nodded his head to indicate Dorn, "can you not see the blood of your brethren, the ork's, that run through his veins?" He paused, for effect, "Even I cannot control him when his blood is up, nor would I wish the attempt. However, I do not feel as though he is wrong, you claim familiarity with these parts, and this fortress. Consider each trap a test of your good intent, for should you lead us into another such ambush, your loyalty to us will have been one of convenience, and an oath, once sworn, is inviolate. You've been warned."

He dropped Morrik back to his knees before checking his companions, securing his gear in preparation for their venture into the ruins proper.
