Trawyn

As the tiefling tries to dart past him, the bard swings a vicious chop at its legs with his longsword....materializing in the doorway as he does so.

The tiefling yells as Trawyn cuts into him, and spins to try to stab Trawyn. Another tiefling appears in the doorway and stabs at Trawyn as well. Irabeth moves into the building, drawing her oversized orc axe from her back, and takes a swing at the wounded tiefling, cutting him in half with a massive slice. Another tiefling bangs on the north wall before running south and also trying to stab Trawyn.

Semult was fortunate to avoid the tiefling's attack before it was quickly cut down. The party's warriors quickly moved forward to battle. The conjurer was in the way so he stepped back but still knew the alarm had been raised. He turned to face the other door and prepared to defend against that other direction.

Battle?! Now? R-right! Alamryn shakes off her surprise and steps forward to swing her quarterstaff at the tiefling in the doorway.

Trawyn

The bard grimaces as a wounded is opened on his leg by one of the tieflings, but moments later Tellos lands a devastating blow and the wound miraculously closes. With a glance over his shoulder, Trawyn is relieved to see his allies have moved in so he steps back and allows them to do what they do best. He withdraws across the room, taking up position in the opposite doorway.

In a daze, Alamryn steps forward and swings her quarterstaff again at the remaining tiefling.

As Alamryn runs into the room and drops the last assailant, Jemus rushes in behind her only to realize there isn't anyone left standing. Putting a finger to his lips, he listens intently to hear if their short but intense battle brought any unwanted attention upon the group.

As the others file into the room and Tellos takes up position at the other door, Trawyn moves back to the front door and sticks his head to see if he can see Wyne and the others.

The door swings open, revealing four identical tieflings standing to one side of it. They immediately cast a spell, going through identical motions and prompting Irabeth to slash at them with her axe, hitting one of them, who promptly disappears. The others, unimpeded, finish the spell and a roaring wave of flame breaks over the room three of you are in.

Trawyn sees the mutants returning from their mission, but the fire to his east commands his immediate attention.

Jemus, hearing the ruckus in the other room, turns and rushes in, headless to the damage already been dealt out. Rushing past Tellos, he enters the far room, look for their assailant.

The bard motions toward Wyne, and as he's about to speak he flinches and ducks as flames engulf the room he just vacated.

"Holy hell! Wyne, get yourselves in here...set a couple to watch the front from across the street, and hold this room!" Trawyn ducks back inside and darts over to the doorway to see if the flames subside...

Irabeth avoids the worst of the flames, which quickly fade, leaving three rather charred people. Jemus rushes into the room with the tiefling, seeing a bare hall with an open door at the north end. Bloodstains streak the walls.

Irabeth slashes twice, hitting another tiefling, who disappears. Two identical tieflings are left.

The fireball had hurt and Semult didn't think he could survive another one. As a fellow wizard he knew getting in a wizard's face was decent protection from another fireball. It was also the best way to keep them from stepping back and casting anything else. Semult threw a small magical glob of acid at the enemy wizard. It doesn't take much to take down a mirror image. Semult then rushed in past Irabeth to surround the tiefling.

Acid Splash. Using Cloudy Conjuration (CM p40, also on my char sheet under Additional Information) if I can center the 5' radius at the bottom right corner of o's space, thus only hitting o. If not, skip the cloud. Then move to N9. M11 has cover so leaving that space should skip an AoO. Leaving M10 would provoke AoO but will try Tumble to avoid it (if the tiefling even has a weapon in hand to attack with).

Cloudy Conjuration (CM p40): When you cast a conjuration spell, you can have a 5-foot-radius cloud of sickening smoke manifest. The cloud can appear in your space, adjacent to you, or in the space of or adjacent to your target (if any). Lasts 1 round. Any living creature is sickened while inside it (but not after exiting). Acts like a fog cloud spell (no save). Creatures immune to poison are immune to the sickening effect. The cloud appears in conjunction with the spell taking effect (not before or after). Any creature you call or summon with the spell is immune to the sickening effect of the cloud.

I'm not clear if Inspire Courage helps here. If not let me know and subtract 3 from each.

Semult's orb hits one of the tieflings, and then Tellos cuts down the same tiefling with a massive slash. The other tiefling disappears as that one falls.

Seeing the mutants enter, "Two of you stay here at the door and secure it. The others are with us."

Leading the others into the room that was fire-balled, he motions to the doorway, "One of you can relieve Tellos there and keep watch on that room."

With a nod to Tellos, then the others, "How's everyone doing? That was unexpected."

The bard winces as he takes stock of Semult's burns and begins to sing softly in notes that evoke images of spring time, sunshine, and renewal. He then raises his hands and places them lightly on his friend's arms.
