Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
No. The comic cited has upside-down images in a right-side-up panel, but not an upside-down panel. See this strip for an example:page 2, panel 3

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
It's not the illusionary half-orc girl in #66, right? How about Hilgya in the flashback panels in #83? Now wait, you said black hair, so not that either. I know! It's the daughter of the weapons merchant in #122 eighth panel!
Note: don't ask a question yet, we still have another one open, about the islands.Last edited by b_jonas; 2018-11-20 at 04:21 PM.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
The island is a small one in #551 first panel. (I actually found this one before reading the hint, but I can't prove that. No matter.)
Find me a hat used as a deadly weapon.
Update: yup, Joerg's answer is what I was thinking, Therkla killing a classmate in ninja school by throwing his hat, in the sixth panel flashback in #509.Last edited by b_jonas; 2018-11-21 at 04:53 PM.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
I believe you, otherwise you found the right island and gave your answer in under eight minutes (eleven if you include the edit), which is probably more impressive than finding it without the clue.
I found a bandana being used as a weapon, but not to deadly effect. And a bandana isn't really a hat. I'll keep looking.Last edited by Tarthalion; 2018-11-21 at 02:35 PM.

Kidnapping, Evidence here.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
Oh, a two-part question! I know that one. This bearded man in Azure City prison is standing on a bucket in #458 before Nale breaks out. (Nale uses a better footstool than a bucket.) That man has class levels, and was committed for kidnapping, as we found out in #420, when Hinjo releases Tsukiko, Belkar, and that guy who wants to assassinate Hinjo.
Update: Personification answered faster, so I won't ask a question. Personification: does the word "no" still count if Haley speaks it ciphered, such in #393? It's unlikely to matter, he doesn't say "no" enough times for what you asked, just wondering.
Update: Personification: nice tough question by the way. It's not #694, that only has eight instances of "no" in two panels together. Nor is it Miko's “NO! No more compromises, no more delays, no more backing down before the battle is won!” in #406. And Belkar only exclaims a single big “NO!!” when he realizes that he'll never kill Windstriker. It's not #894 either: that's when Nale says “No no no no no no NO!” as he sees the message on the gate in Girard's pyramid.Last edited by b_jonas; 2018-11-21 at 06:15 PM.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
There's a total of 24 instances of the word "no" in the stip with panels 1 and 4 on the second page having five each, to add up to the required 10.

Not confirmed, but it would appear Haley did. Also, if you count the free passes as "paying for it", or at least a portion of it, the gnome engineer did.

Not sure if it is correct, but Haley might have paid for at least some of it, based on her conversation with Roy about their funding.

8th panel of page 1 and 11 of page 2, 12th panel, 2nd, 7th, and 8th panels, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th on the first page, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th on the second. Don't know if any other purple pendants exist, but these are all the appearances of this one for good measure.

Re: Order of the Stick Trivia XIX: It's Always the Demon Roaches
I think that's after the Escape scene, when nothing dangerous pops out to kill O-Chul after he taunts fate with his words. I know this one because the Escape is one of my favourite story arcs, and I've re-read it many times, often to clarify the clues we have about the MitD. You might mean something else, but Elan saying “dun dun dun” when Trigak died in #21 doesn't seem to fit because I expect Trigak's dramatic return later, not right then. The other time that Elan says “dun, dun, dun” also doesn't seem to fit. It could perhaps be #855, when Roy expected a cutaway panel, but we didn't get one, because we already one in #844, and #843 showed that Vaarsuvus has fallen into a trap.
Ah, that might be it.Last edited by b_jonas; 2018-11-22 at 03:40 AM.

Each one of us, alone, is but a drop in the sea
Our powers pale compared with the great heroes
Our battles don’t hit theheadlines or shake the earth
But they are few, can’t be everywhere, and we, many
So, when the world or universe needs saving, they come
But when people needs saving, we are the ones to appear
We're underdogs, but we rise up to the challenge to be heroes.
