If this wasn’t clear, I’m gonna let one of the other PCs answer in the IC thread.

Edit: also, take a look at the recruitment thread because we may still be getting one more player

I have updated this thread with our latest player's character, Tessa, and may I introduce to you all Lionheart, the newest member of the game

@Lionheart: This is where you introduce yourself please. And my next IC post will have the Prelude for Tessa.

    Thanks for the introduction Bennosuke!
Hello everyone! Name's Lionheart, and I'll be playing Tessa Dubois, Wizened Chatelaine/Gardener extraordinaire! Judging from the distance between my and Bennosuke's posts, it looks like I'm in a bit of a different time zone to at least some of you, so apologies if this causes any delay. I will be posting at least once a day though, so hopefully it shouldn't cause too many problems.

Also, please note that Tessa will likely come across as unfriendly and stand-offish (at least at first), but please don't think that that extends to me!

Very much looking forward to joining the Motley.

Welcome again Lionheart. I do request we minimize the initial intercharacter conflict. Of course, this is a game of monsters, and everyone has a reason to be untrusting of new people, but I have seen a lot of CofD/WoD games dissolve because players couldn't get over this. I hope Tessa's relationship with Reggie will make her quicker to trust his Motley???

And no worries about the time zone. That shouldn't be an issue.

Oh, absolutely, I'm a team player! I think what I have worked out with Ladorak should make it easy enough to work with the Motley initially, and trust will follow soon after.

I'm gonna give the main group a little longer for the PCs to work something out, but will otherwise use the NPCs to interject and help move things along. But please let me know if everyone is starting to feel stuck. I feel like there's more the PCs can accomplish ATM.

I am going to use Famine’s Bulwark here, because I think I need a few answers based on what I’m hearing from the interaction between Songbird and Pengrove.

I’m going to roll here and see the results before I write out the in-game responses. I’ll also write my questions.

Spending a point of willpower, which should give me 12 dice on the roll of Wits + Occult + Mantle.

    (12d10)[9][1][7][1][10][2][3][1][4][3][2][5](48)
    10s - (12d10)[9][9][8][7][7][8][1][9][6][9][6][8](87)

2 Successes by my count. Fun!

    1. Is this person actually the Arthur Pengrove we are interested in?
    2. Does Songbird actually know Arthur Pengrove?
    3. Does Pengrove actually want to die?

Sebastian is down to 9 Glamour and 3 WP, updated in your character box. I count three successes with your 10 again, so you get one more y/n question. I am going to hold off on answering till you have asked the third question, as I will randomly choose which answer I give you the wrong answer to.

Also, just for fluff, how is Sebastian divining here? The book mentions reading answers in tea leaves, or bird migration patterns, but Sebastian is inside. Also, if Sebastian is trying to be discrete, please give me a Dex+ Stealth roll, otherwise, everyone can see what he is doing/trying to do ;)

I actually thought of that! I would have described it in my IC post, but I can answer it here first. Probably makes sense to. I was going to do something like automatic writing. I was going to have Sebastian write the questions and then for all three draw crossword answer boxes - 3 letters of course, so “Aye” or “Nay” could either fairly appear, rather than yes or no, and then let his true form kind of “wash over” the paper, leaving the answers behind. I thought it would fit him.

However, @All: I was stuck with a 13 hour shift today and my brain is fried. I will be responding to everything tomorrow. Thank you for the patience.

@Lionheart: I'm not sure what's happening if you are using[ rollv]Xd10[ /rollv] but typing it in without the spaces. I'll roll 6d10 for you here, and don't forget to include a roll for 10 again

    (6d10)[6][2][8][5][10][10](41) and 10 again (6d10)[9][9][9][9][7][6](49)

@Ohiska: I view Killing them Softly as a form of magical attack. The music is so powerful that it splits the eardrums and causes a massive headache, so I imagine it will hurt. I imagine Songbird's question as being posed to the motley and not to Pengrove, so I will hold off on responding.
