Did something behind the scenes happen to Zehir during 4E Faerūn development?
Before 4e launched previews for the NWN2 expansion Storm of Zehir talked about Zehir being a new 4E god as though it was something big. Come 4E he's just kinda there as the Yuan-Ti god. Was there some direction change with 4E's deities mid-development or was Obsidian just over hyping/estimating him?

Re: Did something behind the scenes happen to Zehir during 4E Faerūn development?
It seems like WotC had more plans for Zehir at the time, "despite the fact that his plan was ruined, he revealed that it was but one of many schemes that he was sponsoring all over the world". But as things have gone for 4e, sadly WotC might have had to drop future projects they had planned.

Re: Did something behind the scenes happen to Zehir during 4E Faerūn development?
Something to remember is WotC at release of 4e had:
Wildly overcommitted to material, particularly LFR
There was a murder-suicide by the head of DDI
Something that seems like it might have been a relevant detail needs to be taken in context that the central theme of 4e was points of light everything is going straight to Asmodeus's backyard, but the heroes are standing in the way. And yet for the most part, that's not how 4e played out at all.
They were really way too ambitious given what was going on.

Re: Did something behind the scenes happen to Zehir during 4E Faerūn development?
I thought Zehir was shoehorned in because Bob Salvatore, characteristically, couldn't be bothered doing any Realms research and slapped Zehir into something he was writing as part of the development of a computer game.
