New Dominions 5 2v2v2v2vX.... game signups

So in about a week I should be able to start a new game, so looking for signups now. I started playing with a few people on a different forum as well, so I'll add them in here as they signup, I'll have a thread on both forums.

Right now the basic info will be default, I am operating under the assumption that it will be MA, unless anybody on either forum has strong feelings about EA or LA?

This will be an unmodded game.

You can signup either solo, or with a partner as a 2x team and I'll put all people below:

Completely open to suggestions, although until we get a firmer idea of the number of people we probably can't pick one.

Most excellent. That brings us up to 6 so far, so 3 teams, hopefully we'll get a few more.

So currently we're at 7 people, and I'm waiting to hear back from a couple more. I have high hopes that we will get to 10 people, so 5 teams.

What is everybody thinking for a map - Peliwyr is probably the most likely one that comes to mind for me, any other thoughts?

If we are ending with 10 people, then i would suggest something potentially a little bigger.
Peliwyr only has 130 provinces. It would lead to a very early bloodbath.
I would suggest something with at least 150-160 provinces.

OK so we have another team, but an odd number of people so we'll still need at least 1 more.

I also forgot to mention - this is much more informal, so go ahead and claim nations as you know what you want to play.

People should not be able to claim nations before teams has been finalized. Or even for that matter before everyone has signed up.

Informal is good for me, but I think having every player at least present would be ideal.

In general, nation selection upon joining game offers a number of advantages and is a perfectly reasonable choice.
I see very little reason for the hybrid approach proposed by hellbug.
One of the advantages of dynamic nation selection is the ability to know that you will be able to play a nation you like playing. By waiting until after all players have registered to pick nations in a free-form fashion, you have removed that ability.

And upon consideration, I'm interested in being in if I can wear two hats.
Up to you folks. (And the other folks, of course, Olinser.)

What do you mean, wear 2 hats, play 2 nations?

Or were you just making a joke about physically wearing 2 hats.

Not super particularly. I think I know Thrantar the best, but I think putting me and him on the same team would just lead to a dogpile, if the last game was anything to go by.

Well if nobody has any preference when we fill up then I'll just RNG assign it when we have the correct number of people.

Sure, you're not locked into a nation.

Well what's everybody's opinion on how to proceed? It seems both forums are tapped out of people interested in playing.

So we could either make the last team a 3 man (Bin Xi Lao was a new MP player), somebody could volunteer to go solo, or I could brave the hellish depths of the steam/discord forums to see if I can pick up a rando.
