    Luvon patted down his tunic, smothering spots of still smoldering leather as he ascended the stairs away from the brute the other brute knocked down there. If you be so kind, please in the future avoid throwing hostile orcs at my person. He fired a bolt at Purple Orc.

    Both orcs hit the ground. The orange orc continues to roll down the stairs cursing the whole way, while the purple orc begins to bleed out on the floor.

    Luvon's clothes flare up like a trick candle as the last of the alchemist fire burns, dealing him 6 damage.

    Letting her friends deal with the orcs, Tetro quickly teleports over to where the helpless doggo is tied, grabs the bucket of water attempting to douse the fire all the while talking as she waits for the fire to sizzle out. "Nice doggy...please don't eat me..."

    Lelouch swings at and misses the falling orange orc as he rolls down the stairs. Meanwhile Tetro's use of the nearby fire bucket douses the flames, saving the dog's bacon. The smoke of the fire makes the dog sputter a bit, but overall it seems appreciative.

    Victorious, the party finds that the orcs were equipped similarly to ones downstairs (IE axes, javelins, scale mail, health potions).

    Now that the smoke from the fire is no longer obscuring the dog, you can see that his fur is stained faintly pink. He has leather barding covering his vitals and a well worn collar with the word "Bravery" engraved on a tag. He is fairly large for a dog and his tremendous tongue licks Tetro's face all at once in thanks for freeing him. He pads toward the stairs and whines.

    The dog does know where to go and he leads the group back down ten flights of stairs, past the statue on the ground floor, and to the stairs leading down to the basement. The chanting below has reached a fever pitch and the moonlight seems to be glowing brighter.

    As the party descends the stairs they see a basement with similar dimensions to the other floors. Within are 6 people in black robes and a large, bored looking orc standing around a recently dug pit in the center of the floor. From your vantage point you can see that there are 4 haggard looking people in the hole digging with crude implements.

    One of the black robed figures steps closer to the edge of the pit and holds a gemstone aloft in one hand and a sickle in the other. In a deep voice that cuts through the loud chants of those around him, he speaks in a tongue that sounds like gargling gravel. As he speaks the gemstone glows in rythmn with the chanting.

    Hapax leaps down the side of the staircase; the leader was speaking about a sacrifice, and as a general rule, things that require a sacrifice aren't beings you want to deal with. Perhaps the leader would be less willing to meet 'the ones below' if he was part of the offering rather than the offerer.

    What once was a triumph for the cultists quickly turns into a chaotic melee. The surprise attack from the party left the lead cultist in the pit, a massive wound on the orc's back, a bolt sprouting from another cultist's shoulder, and a very confused digger squashed by the falling cultist.

    In the ensuing chaos, two of the diggers swing their crude shovels at the cult leader while the other pulls himself free from under him. The orc swings his war axe into Lelouch's mech, leaving a nasty gash that exposes some of its inner workings (12 damage after hardness, you are Battered and have -2 CMD, and -1 AC and Reflex).

    The green cultist draws his (her? It's hard to tell) sickle and leaps at Hapax. As their arm swings out you can see that it appears to be covered in chitin, reminding you of a crayfish. Hapax easily ducks the attack. The purple and blue cultists move into position and fire bolts of black energy at Lelouch. Only one hits, but they score a forceful blow on the suit (6 more damage, and -2 to attack rolls).

    The red and yellow cultists fire their black bolts at Tetro and Luvon with Luvon taking a solid blow to the chest (6 damage, -2 to attack rolls).

    When the cult leader tries to stand, the diggers finish him off with more whacks of their shovels.

    Oof, 18 to the mech with some nasty debuffs, and 6 total to Luvon. Probably a good thing he grabbed that potion. In other news: Player 5 has entered the game.

    Eugene warps from the dug hole, halting briefly at the top to look around and gain some bearings on the situation. He smiles a wide, innocent grin, throwing up a shovel over his shoulder and warps again, leaving a silhouette of himself made of bright blue light where he was that vanishes within a second. He reappears behind the orc, drawing the shovel back and preparing to whack.

    Bravery's ears perk at the sight of the glowing blue. He dashes off the stairs, ready to fight his way through to Eugene. He takes a hard nip out of the leg of the first cultist he comes to.

    Hapax decided to focus on the cultist who just attacked him. After a quick pump fake distraction, Hapax slashed at the cultist with his mind blade, hoping to keep it off guard.

    Tetro and Luvon send out bolts but fail to find their marks. Bravery nips at the heels of the green cultist but only manages to distract them long enough for Hapax's blade to end them. With Lelouch and Eugene boxing him in, the orc can't avoid Lelouch's swing and he falls to the floor in a heap.

    The red cultist steps closer to Tetro and Luvon's position and make a series of arcane gestures. The stairs beneath them begin to rumble and... that's it. The same scene is repeated with the blue cultist and Lelouch's mech is unaffected by the minor rumbling. The yellow cultist, surprised at the sudden arrival of a hound as big as they are, steps back and fires a blast of black energy at the dog, but overshoots the target. The purple cultist runs forward as they draw their sickle and they bring it down with a surprising strength in to the elbow of the mech (Crit! 6 damage after hardness).

    Meanwhile, the three people in the hole begin climbing out. Two of them help lift the other to the edge of the pit and she climbs the rest of the way out.

    "WOWEE! I've never seen-" He gets cut off by a bark from behind him. He turns to look at Bravery, "Oi, sorry boy! Ima comin".

    Please, the stairs are an important feature. I do not wish to have to rebuild them. Luvon fired upon the red cultist with an almost disinterested air.

    Having missed twice and seeing two of her party members take quite the beating, uses scope to get a better shot on purple cultist, muttering under her breath, "bloody cultists..." Once sure she's got a good clear shot, takes a breath and fires off a bolt sending it soaring towards her target.
