Incredibly random "Have you ever?"
Have you ever had one of those above ground roughly 4 foot deep family pools where, as a kid you would walk around the edge as fast as you can to try and create a whirlpool? Get a couple friends together and you can actually create one heck of a current. Basically one of these pools.
I dunno why but somehow the topic of pools came up elsewhere and the memory just popped into my head of doing this stuff all the time growing up.Spoiler

Yeah, we had one when I was about 10-14. Stood about 4 feet above the ground and was about 3 feet full. And yes, we got some awesome* whirlpools going.

Hey it was enough that you could lift up your feet and be dragged along by the swirl lol. I dont think you ever moved closer to the middle but it was still fun. Im sure the parents loved it as a way for us to burn off energy too. Also fun was reversing it. Once you and your buddies had a good speed going, turn around and fight against it. It was like trying to walk upriver.

I didn't, but my neighbors did. They would do the whirlpool thing right before they got out because it would drag all the leaves and gunk to the center and make them easier to scoop out.

I remember that it made cleanup easier as well.

Work in basically any pool, the trick is to then stop and try going the other way.
