Saga Edition: which character sounds the most viable?

Basically as above... I got bored and wrote up three characters for an easy game and now I'm uncertain about which one to play.

Basically the Idea is to Snipe once or twice on Flat-footed enies with a Battlestrike primed Repeating Crossbow ( Battlestrike qualifies for Sentinel Strike, correct?) And then close in melee once they are in charge range.

I plan on levelling in soldier at least once for Armored Defense and getting a superior helmet package. Also Might be losing my eyes in story for replacing them with telescoping ones

I think I'm starting to understand the game a little bit better than when I first started but If I'm doing something incredibly foolish please let me know.
