    The elf unfreezes and notices himself surrounded. His eyes widen as he scrambles to his feet and attempts to flee, though he isn't getting anywhere fast with his current wound

    D'urkhan muttered his incantation and reached out grasping.

    Next to the elf on the road, a spectral appendage appears, reaching to grab at the escaping elf. He then sent his familiar circling in the direction the arrows came from, maybe once he had time he'd be able to spot the hidden assailants through sharper eyes.

    Tidnets, for a moment you aren't sure if your eyes are playing tricks on you, but in the distance you see it. On the far side of the road from the camp, maybe 40 feet away from Berr, Lhurusk, and the crouching Many Eyes, there's a shimmering in front of the tall grass. In a moment, you realize the illusion and fire your blast. Though it seems to not hit its target, it passes through the grass without disturbing it, unmasking the falsehood.

    Tidnets has spotted the enemy. Talking is a free action and on the assumption he would inform his allies, you can make an Investigation check as an action on your turn to see through the illusion and subsequently attack without the enemy having bonuses to AC

    Many Eyes scans the grass, then sees where his companions are pointing. He can smell something behind the fog. He mutters under his breath and rakes his hands through the air towards the hidden foes. He pulls the grasses, roots, and branches together with his power, grasping at anything moving in the area. He rushes forward, holding the spell in the back of his mind as he shifts, collapsing onto all fours as hair sprouts from all over his body. His mask shifts into that of a wolf, growing and twisting to accommodate his new snout and jaws. He howls, sniffing the air as he rushes into the thicket he had created, sniffing for the enemy.

    Berr and Many Eyes rush where Tidnets pointed out the enemy, as Many Eyes' spell entangles the area in vines. Ayris rushes forward, calling on the blessings of the goblin deities to grant you victory. Lhurusk squints at the area, readying an arrow, but can't quite grasp past the illusion.

    Ayris, Bless only lets you target three individuals at once. When you got into position, everyone was in range of your spell, so I need to know who you decided to bless. Your Shield of Faith can't be active at the same time as Bless (both are Concentration spells), so I'll assume you didn't cast it.

    Strength check from your foe (1d20+1)[13]

    Ill have the enemy's turn up later after this roll is resolved, and we'll be doing group initiative from there. If you want to strategize a bit, that's fine by me

    A distressed shout can be heard from within the illusion as the sounds of struggle are heard once more. There is a snapping sounds as something breaks and in an instant, you see another hooded figure break from the illusion, bow in hand, running from you as fast as it can

    Berr's axe grazes the back of the fleeing enemy, ruining their cloak and setting them bleeding. Many Eyes' jaws close for a moment over the figure's leg, but they manage to pull away, at the cost of a serious gash in their leg.

    D'urkhan manages to spot the figure through the illusion and runs forward. He was heavily considering casting misty step to cut off the figure but instead barks out in goblin as he comes to the rest of the group. <Cut off his retreat, make sure he doesn't escape.> After he gave his order, the hobgoblin would grip his staff, preparing for his next assault. <keep him slow and wound him, then I can bring him down, unless we want to interrogate him.>

    Meanwhile his familiar drops down, flying around the figures face to distract him.

    Many Eyes charges forward, barking an acknowledgement at their nominal commander. He snaps at the fleeing elf's heels, trying to bring him down. He bites to wound, not kill, though.

    Aryis should be able to move to the collapsed elf, and I think its possible to bind it with rope so we can interrogate / intimidate it later for info., so use rope check

    Seeing the elf collapse to the ground in fits of laughter, Many Eyes snarls in delight. With three bounding steps, he charges forward, feeling the blood of the Horde rushing through him. His fangs close on and shake the elf roughly, not trying to kill even though he could.

    Despite the savage beating he has endured, Tidnets spell keeps its hold and the elf (his face now visible from his prone position) keeps laughing even as he bleeds. A testament to his fortitude, he hasn't fainted, from lack of air... or blood. It might haunt your dreams for a few nights, seeing his mad cackling face in contrast to his damaged body. Moments later, however, his laughter dies down and he seems to come to his senses.

    Lhurusk, you don't spy any other figures, but you do notice one thing. A hawk, on the edge of the treeline, which has not fled like the other birds, is watching your battle with a keen, almost intelligent gaze.

    Dhurkhan, your familiar sends a similar impression through your link. The other hawk is behaving oddly.

    Lhurusk shifts to get the best shot he can, and looses his arrow on the strange hawk. He wasn't one to believe in coincidence, not after having battled elves long enough to know they were capable of using animals to their advantage. "There may be more," he says curtly after the arrow has left the bowstring.
