Look, if we boil 'em it'll probably take all night. We should just squash them and be done with it, so that we can cook them properly at a later point.

I know this may have been addressed before, and that she died over 700 strips ago, but I have a query about the lack of an Int listing for Miko. If we are listing Lien as having Int of 10+ due to her statement of "Good, not dumb" in http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0584.html , then should we not list Miko as also having Int of 10+ for her statements about her valid strategic plan in http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0215.html ? The FAQ seems to indicate that a character's own statements about their intelligence are valid evidence.

I think the problem is that “I have a valid strategic plan” isn’t a direct statement about her intelligence, but is closer to the sort of inferring mental stats or alignment from actions that we try to stay away from because they’re too subjective.

In game terms, it would be hard to pin down a stat because that’s the sort of strategic decision that you generally let a player make rather than saying they need to make an INT check before they can flank someone, etc...

Yeah, I get that point, it just seems inconsistent alongside Lien, who provided no stat-based or numerical evidence, just stated that she wasn't dumb (Lien also demonstrated reasoning capability in that strip, but I agree that that's a subjective call). Lien says she's not dumb, gets a stat listing, Miko rhetorically asks Roy if he thinks she's stupid enough to not have a valid strategic plan, she doesn't get a stat listing. I know Miko REALLY wound some people up, and still does, apparently, but I think this is evidence that she's of not-below-average intelligence, thus at least 10 Int!

I think this is a better argument to remove 10+ Int from Lien. She could be referring to her Wis score as far as we know.

So I realized today that when Xykon cast maximized energy drain he either needed to use sudden maximize on that, or have either improved spell capacity three times or some mix of improved spell capacity and improved metamagic spread over 3 feats. Both of those feats are epic, which could give us a better idea where his level falls.

Are there any instances where he used multiple castings of maximized spells that would bump them up to 10th or higher spells in a single day?

Or have the Metamagic Specialist alternate class feature. Blarg, forgot that one talks about casting time and one talks about spell level.

Xykon uses Maximized Lightning Bolt on O-Chul a bit after that, so he can't JUST have Sudden Maximize. Could have that *too*, yes, but not just that.

maximized lightning bolt would be 6th level, so at best that tells us Xykon has both sudden maximization and regular maximize spell. I find it much more likely he just has maximize spell and the feats needed to be able to cast what is effectively a 12th level spell though

well, we know due commentaries in the books, that she was intended for romantic interest for Roy, so she had to be intelligent (to match wits with him) before she was offed and replaced by celia (which also is intelligent having studied Law) So yes she has probably more INT than wis.
