    You could try it, but you'd need to describe your approach, who you were trying to charm and how, that sort of thing. It's pretty unlikely to work unless you can come up with a really good argument or offer to buy the shuttle or something.

    This is 40k. The space fighters have a crew of three. Might be a tight fit for the Astartes, but you could all squeeze onto one without much trouble.

    Also, in regards to talking our way to a landing, I should say that while Zahariel is a pilot, he's not a great one. He has Operate Aeronautica to be able to use the jump pack, but his agility is only middling. So if we can avoid having to rely on him to make tough piloting rolls we're much more likely to live.

    And that's what you get for failing a stealth roll twice. A big loud idiot marching in and mucking up all your plans. Right now you've got surprise, so if you have a way to kill them quietly this would be a good time to use it.

    Right. NPCs are surprised, so nobody gets to dodge.

    Zahariel hits the tech adept, and does 12 wounds. She's not dead, but Amon did say he'd finish her off if needed. Since Janwin didn't roll, here it is: (1d100)[58](1d10+12)[20] (correct me if I got damage wrong. Force Sword is 1d10+1 base, then +5 SB, +4 Unnat Strength, +2 psy rating) - that's a hit, with the +30 from Surprise. 15 wounds. More than enough to kill her.

    Elisanth hits the shuttle guy. He takes 17, which is a 5 crit to the body. Power swords do energy damage, so he gets knocked prone and has to pass Ag or catch fire. (1d100)[43]. He also has to pass Toughness or be stunned 1 round. (1d100)[6] - failed AG, passed T. Not that it matters. He bursts into flame, gets punched, and expires.

    Paline punches the same guy, and hits twice. Does a 10+ crit to the leg. He dies, and nothing special happens.

    And a roll to see if the guards in the tower notice. They don't get a bonus, because nobody used any especially loud weaponry. (1d100)[30] - that, on the other hand, does matter. The guard post passed Awareness, and has realised Something's Up.

    Looks right. I missed that they had a +1 damage, so my sheet's damage was off by 1. Updating it now.

    Also, if that hadn't been enough to kill, I could have followed up with an opposed Focus Power vs Willpower for extra d10/DoS just to make sure.

    Fuel's about half full. There's probably enough to get to the ship, but it could be iffy because of the short range Sharks usually have. If you want to be sure you could wait to get a little extra in there.

    Alright. You only delayed a little, so the best the defenders can manage is a few potshots as you take off. The lead vehicles are armed with multilasers and heavy stubbers.

    Laser: (1d100)[27] - full auto is -10, +30 size (the Shark is big) +10 range. they get four degrees of success, meaning four hits.
    (2d10+10)[25](2d10+10)[20](2d10+10)[22](2d10+10)[21] - Shark's rear armour is 30. AP on a multilaser is 2. They're not going to do much more than scratch the paint unless they roll really well.

    Laser: (1d100)[85]
    (2d10+10)[23](2d10+10)[14]

    Stubber: (1d100)[77]
    (1d10+4)[12](1d10+4)[13](1d10+4)[5](1d10+4)[8]

    Edit: You're not quite out of the woods. Zahariel can take vehicle actions (such as Floor It! or Evasive Manoeuvring) to attempt to evade fire from the defense turrets. They'll get two round of shooting before you're out of range, at current speed.

    Yeah, it's for work. I passed, so huzzah, I get to keep my extra couple bucks an hour.

    So the turrets start shooting. They've got -20, thanks to that pass. They've also got heavier artillery: these are autocannons.

    Semi-auto is +0, Range is +10 this round, -20 for the evasion means these are all vs 25.

    Oh, I'm back, by the way. Went on a short vacation.

    Some more rolls for autocannons, just to get them out of the way. After this you'll be out of range of the shipyard's defenses. They don't get a range bonus anymore.

    The best idea I have right now is to hand over the documents we got from the captain and hope them and our "mates with astartes" status is enough to buy us passage to a good double-crossing planet. If you have anything better, go for it.
