Well, that's unfortunate.

I don't suppose these runes look like numbers in Primordial, and I realize I lit them in the wrong order?

Anyway, Deon looks down the drain to see if there's anything interesting there.

The runes don't look like numbers to you. However, as you look at them they are familiar to you. You think for a bit about how you recognize them before realizing these are the same runes that were circled around the basins each time there was a tablet.

As you stair at the drain, it looks damp, but just a drain. It is a bit more narrow than your arm.

(Sorry for the delay, I will do my best to post every weekday but that is difficult to keep up in the summer for me as I'm not always near a computer and able to do so.)

Do I remember what order the runes were in on the pedestals? Or can I make a Wisdom check to remember, if I don't automatically?

You don't remember the exact order. But you do remember they were grouped into sets of 4 based upon the 4 colors, red, green, blue, and white. The runes before you are laid out in a 3x4 grid.

How smooth were the walls in the 10x10 room I found under the pool? Is there any chance I could climb back up them? (Although with my luck that might be a horrible idea.)

(You didn't really pay attention.)

You give up for the time being and wander back out of the room you are in, back down the long hall, and then along the winding path. You find yourself back in the room where you started, underneath the pool. You examine the walls and see they are rough, seemingly natural rock. You look up to begin plotting your climb, only to see a ceiling 20' above you.

I sigh, and go back to take another look at the wall with the runes: the whole wall, this time. Do I see any weak spots?

And does it appear to be oddly smooth, or any other thing that would be hard to pull off in any physically possible way?

There don't appear to be any weak spots, it seems this wall is seamlessly integrated with the walls around it. There is nothing to pry off.

(I'm away from the computer I use for more advanced images, and they are hard to draw. They are the zodiac symbols, so I'm going to list them in their layout in the spoiler for you so if you want to look them up, you can visually see what is going on.)

(You recognize them as symbols, but no you can't make a check to know them as such. It isn't really part of the lore per say, just something I'm using.)

Here's a question I wish I'd asked a while ago: did they all glow with the same color light?

[Deadlykire]

(In which room? You've encountered these symbols 3 times now. I'm going to assume you mean the most recent time, in this room. In which case: yes they all glow with the same light as you touch them. Although given your playtesting, I'm thinking perhaps they shouldn't. But for now we'll stick with yes same color.)

I guess Deon presses the two that are shaped kind of like Ms with added shapes on the right, and sees if that accomplishes anything.

(OOC, I'm talking about Virgo and Scorpio, but Deon wouldn't know that. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure Deon is supposed to hit the three water signs, but I barely know enough about astrology to know that there are such things, and there's no way Deon would.)

You press the runes, and nothing happens as they again fade. Although you notice this time, after pressing only two the runes faded slower as if they were waiting for more.

I press the top row, and see how quickly those fade.

Do they fade as quickly as when I pressed all of them? As slowly as when I just pressed two semi-randomly? In between?

[Deadlykire]

(I'm headed out of town for a week to work. The internet will be hit or miss, but I'll still try and manage my daily postings as possible.)

As you press 4 runes, they quickly dissipate like when you pressed only a single rune or all of them.

I press the first three on the second row. Do those fade as quickly as when I'd pressed four?

As you push the first three in the second row they almost immediately go out and you hear the faintest double bong, in a low tone.

[whiteflash]

I press the first three in the top row and wait for them to fade. Then I repeat the process with the first three in the bottom row, the three in the first column, and the three in the second column. Do I hear the bonging sound pressing any of those four sets of three?

You get the same response for each of the sets you press.

As you press the runes, you swear you heard three of them emit a slightly different tone as they were pressed, although after the series of three you still got the bonging tone. As you study the symbols again and think back, you think you remember cancer, scorpio, and pisces being the signs with the funny sounds.

I press those three.

Any particular order? Or just randomly?

I press them from left to right.

(They are in different rows, so I'll assume you press the left-most one first.)

As you press the three runes you hear a faint clinking sound. Immediately followed by an almost deafening siren blare. As the sirens go off, you notice water seeping out of the wall around all of the runes. The room you are in begins to quickly flood.

I catch some on my fingertip and taste it to make sure it hasn't been poisoned.

If it passes that test, I catch a small handful and breathe it in to make sure it doesn't have any properties that interfere with my water breathing ability.

[Deadlykire]

It is regular water. As you test it's taste and your water breathing ability, you realize it is already ankle deep, out into the hallway as well.
