Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Is adding "What will the fate of Dorukan and Lirian be?" be feasible, considering they are still very much in Xykon's possession?
If the Kroger thing is true, no wonder any of the planet's denizens returned.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
But when Dorukan's gate krackooooomed Xykon's body was destroyed and he regened in Redcloak's holy symbol. We don't know what happened to the gem when Xykon's body was destroyed and I don't think we've seen it since.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
That's Celia's memory of Xykon when he first moved into the Dungeon of Dorukan. We don't know if Xykon retrieved the gem after the krackooooooooom and Celia would have no way of knowing either.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Ah crap, I can't read. My apologies.
I really hope it isn't lying around in the dungeon's ruins, though. That really would be distressing.
Considering the first gate's explosion is implemented long before the plot solidified around saving the Gates and SOD, I'd bet good money that Xykon still has the gem with him in some way. If he could keep his robes and cloak after exploding, and even hold onto Dorukan's headband, maaaaaybe there's a chance the sapphire's in his phalanges.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
On this line of thinking, the Order assumes Girard and Serini are alive (up until they verify Girard's corpse and his clan's deaths). They know Soon has died from Shojo's exposition. Celia infers that Dorukan is dead, due to Xykon's sudden residence.
So how did they know Lirian's dead? Why don't they try to contact her to help them with the other Gates? Or at least have her tell them more information? (regarding the oath, Lirian had already broken it to visit Dorukan)

They know her Gate was destroyed. It's sensible to infer that she died.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Something I've been wondering about.
SpoilerWill Roy ever learn that Eugene gave up the chance to pursue Xykon because he had a family? I've wondered for a while what he would make of that bit of info. Of course, there's no real reason for it to come up in the story and there's not a clear way for it to even be mentioned given that Eugene and Right-Eye are both dead and Eugene doesn't seem to want to tell. Unless once Right-Eye's niece re-enters the story after being revealed as a time-traveller who was polymorphed into Serini who was polymorphed into Thog who was polymorphed into a tree, she ends up telling the order about her father and that story comes up...

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Maybe Eugene will accidentally give something away.
SpoilerIn SoD, a one-eyed goblin who worked for Xykon wanted to betray him. In the coming arc, the Order of the Stick want to convince a one-eyed goblin who works for Xykon to betray him. Something about the similarity of the situation might trip Eugene up and cause him to mention something about his meeting with Right-Eye. Then Roy would force him to spill the rest.
If you're going to bring the daughter into it, here's a bizarre one: maybe she still has that copy of Wizardry Today with Eugene's face on the cover that he gave to her father so long ago. Her dad had it, and most of their other possessions all got destroyed, so she hangs onto it as a keepsake despite having no idea who the man on the cover is.Last edited by B. Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
True - but the headband itself is still in Xykon's possession months after his body was destroyed:

which suggests that at least a few of his most important things are kept with Redcloak, ensuring he still has access to them.Marut-2 Avatar by Serpentine

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
How will Durkon and Hilgya’s co-parenting arrangement work out? Will they learn to work together? Will Durkon try to win custody in a court of law or in combat? Will Hilgya conveniently get killed off so Durkon can take him without any messy conflict?

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
But he also used the headband in the Dungeon of Dorukan for the first cloister.
So it'd make sense he'd keep it on him or RC on all times if he wanted to renew the spell.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Trading Places. Two ultra-wealthy financial firm owners make a bet about nature vs nurture, and set up one of their best blue-blooded brokers to be fired, homeless, destitute, and cut all his ties to his family and friends. They then take a homeless conman, give him the brokers former life and job, and see how each one works out their new situation.
The bet was for a dollar.

I've read through all of the first post, and I find that the one question I'm actually asking myself, out of the bunch, is "what happened to Playgrounder 'Sunken Valley'?"

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
Yeah, I wanted to throw it up so you could see if you'd like it, but it morphed into "if youd rather watch the cliff notes version." Also, if you like it, I'd highly recommend Coming to America afterwards. Both have a few 80's attitudes that don't age well, but those add up to maybe a minute or two total between both movies. Other than that, it's Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy in TP, and Eddie Murphy and a criminally underrated Arsenio Hall in CTA. I don't know how Arsenio Hall's career didn't skyrocket like it should have, the guys a comic genius, and he and Eddie Murphy kill it with the barbershop scenes (they play all the characters, Saul being my favorite. They could have made en entire movie off those guys).

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
If this becomes a series of threads, I propose Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited II: Redux or Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited II: For Real This Time or something corny like that. We can move onto actual puns on the third one.
Here's my question, what happened to Shojo's Wizard? Presumably he or his body was lost in the Battle of Azure City, but was there really ever an explanation?
For all we know, he's still alive, following the party and plotting his revenge. An explanation of why MitD being any larger than Huge is implausible.

Re: Unresolved Plot Point Collection Thread Revisited
In all likelihood, he's still dead; the resurrection spell he needed was probably appropriated for the attempt to resurrect Shojo, and the specific use of resurrect (rather than raise dead) kinda points towards death-reversing spells not being readily available without advance notice...and the Azurites kinda needed their spells to defend the city the next day. Redcloak hates humans and Tsukiko prefers the undead; so the odds of Shojo's wizard being resurrected after that are pretty slim.
The sequence of events wherein his plucky low level cleric niece absconds with his body, hiding it from the rest of the ship's crew with a combination of gentle repose and invisibility, until she gets a hold of a scroll of resurrection somehow...and then, when she tells him Azure City was lost because of an uptight green stick in the mud, he doesn't quite grasp the reference and goes after Roy Greenhilt and the Order of the Stick for revenge....Is probably too specific to qualify as a plot hole when it didn't happen.FeytouchedBanana eldritch disciple avatar by...me!
