Why does "--- Updated --- " Occur?
Occasionally when I post something, it will post with the text duplicated underneath a line containing "--- Updated ---".

Why does this occur, and what can be done to prevent it?

If you try to post twice in quick succession, whether deliberately or accidentally, it will append the second post to the first after the "Updated" line. You're probably accidentally double-posting, and the forums are automatically consolidating it into one post.
