Neither, sadly.What's really confusing is trying to figure out the connection between standard bananas and...whatever physical form I have now.

The largest conventional banana, the Rhino Horn plantain, can grow up to two feet long, placing them firmly in the Tiny size category; while I am still Medium...and also have limbs, speech, and class levels. And of course, genetics is a hedge science (whenever I ask geneticists questions, they throw their arms up in the air and say "sorry, our field still assumes polymorphing is fictitious" before catching them again...there's got to be a story there).

My best guess at this point is that this is another "Dynarri and Talking Pet" scenario: whatever Draconic-reading organization had built the temple complex thousands of years ago overthrew a musa-llaneous empire, decided killing them all wasn't enough vengence, and reduced their youth past sub-sapience all the way to non-sentience; intending to give them their just deserts by letting them live for just dessert.

So while botany is hedge science, it is not the only science that can be described as "hedge".

What I wonder is why V and/or Durkon have not prepared Dismissal or Banishment?

V might not have the spell, but Durkon does not need a spellbook.

V has access to the spells; they used scrolls of Dismissal in Battle of Azure City, and attempted Banishment on the Pit Lord.
It sort of boils down to whether Durkon knew about the scroll of Gate. And whether either of them can get through LDWs defences. And whether this fights going to be resolved by a single save-or-gtfo.
(dismissing the elementals would cause narrative problems if it happened too soon)

Mouth, just like Cone of Cold. Spell-Like Abilities don't have somatic components, and FoD doesn't actually have anything to do with a finger. Unlike Burning Hands, for example.

He should be able to: they're Large elementals, so 8HD +24-ish hp. Ac 18, and DR 5. Not total pushovers, but I'd think Belkar should be able to make with the stabby-stabby. When he gets this Hold taken off him, that is.

Spell-like abilities can't be counter spelled, but they can be disrupted. LDW has AC 35 and Concentration +32, (+36 counting Combat Casting) so it shouldn't be very easy to do, but both Roy and Durkon seem to have no trouble hitting it, and for a lot of damage, considering what they're using.

I'm not going to explain how the Elder Horror of Fakeania had 437 mouths, 67392 teeth and no actual body or limbs, no breath or sound based skills, and 5 different finger oriented skills.
Basically, vestigial limbs and someone shooting magic into chromosomes until they turned inside out.
