Your favorite Marvel film
Hey all,
Don't know if anyone else has seen this site yet. It allows you to rate the Marvel moviews (and others as well).
One change I suggest. It asks you which you would rather watch RIGHT NOW. That can change based on your mood. I change it in my mind to "You own neither movie. A friend is buying you one for your birthday. Which would you rather have?"
My order:
The Avengers
Thor: Ragnarok
Captain America: Civil War
Black Panther
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Doctor Strange
Iron Man
Captain Marvel
Iron Man 2
Captain America: The First Avenger
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 3
Avengers: Infinity War
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Ant-Man
Ant-Man and the Wasp
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Thor: The Dark World"That's a horrible idea! What time?"
T-Shirt given to me by a good friend.. "in fairness, I was unsupervised at the time".

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Sure, but if you know that the site is ranking them for you, then you can just choose to read the question as "Which of these do you like more?" rather than "Which would you rather watch right now?"
Anyway, here's the list it generated for me. Movies will drift up or down a few spots depending on my mood, but for the most part I think this reflects my tastes pretty well:
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers
Guardians of the Galaxy
Thor: Ragnarok
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Doctor Strange
Captain America: Civil War
Iron Man
Black Panther
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Captain Marvel
Ant-Man
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Iron Man 3

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Iron Man
Honorable mentions:
Captain America for getting Captain America to work. As a non-American, that is amazing to me.
Avengers for being the greatest victory lap ever made into a film.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War because damn.
Thor Ragnarok & both GotG for being fun rides.
Black Panther & Captain Marvel because better late than never, I suppose

Into the Spider-Verse. I've seen a few other Marvel movies, mostly the standalone ones (Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange), and they were all good, but nothing phenomenal. ITS-V, though, totally was.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
That is a wierd way of asking the question.
It is mostly right, but there is some wierdness in there, like it places Captain Marvel near the bottom because I just saw it four days ago and dn't want to watch it again right away, but it is still one of my favorites.Looking for feedback on Heart of Darkness, a character driven RPG of Gothic fantasy.

List I got:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America: Civil War
Avengers: Infinity War
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Thor: Ragnarok
The Avengers
Captain America: The First Avenger
Black Panther
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Iron Man
Captain Marvel
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Doctor Strange
Ant-Man
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 3
Iron Man 2
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Thor: The Dark World
And yeah, pretty accurate to my favorites. Though the bottom three pretty much all share a slot in "why would I ever watch this again?" ranking.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Didn't we have a thread like this not long ago?
Anyway, I got:
Guardians of the Galaxy
Thor: Ragnarok
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Black Panther
Captain America: Civil War
The Avengers
Captain Marvel
Avengers: Infinity War
Doctor Strange
Iron Man
Thor
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Iron Man 2
-----------------------------
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Ant-Man
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Incredible Hulk
Which I guess is roughly accurate for me, though I haven't seen any of the films below Iron Man 2 (I have no interest in solo movies with those characters), so those are just a crapshoot of what I randomly picked when they popped up against each other and should really just be excluded entirely (hence the dividing line I put in). And I really wouldn't ordinarily put a specific order on some of these - for instance, I know the Guardians films and Thor: Ragnarok are my top 3 personal favorites, but deciding between them is near impossible for me, and I wouldn't say that the order I have here is necessarily true.Toph Pony avatar by Dirtytabs. Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Well, won't go through them all, but my top 4 would be -
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The Avengers
Iron Man
Thor: Ragnarok
After that... well, I can watch any of the others if they are on (well, except for maybe the Hulk movies) I can't really classify after that.

That was pretty close for me. Strange at the top, I have liked all the sequels better than the originals, and Cap/Hulk/Ant-man 1 at the bottom.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
I don't think I can rank them all in order of preference but I can probably split them up into groups.
I do note that there is a relatively serious recency bias in these. This might be because they have more recently perfected the formula, or it might just be because these films had better budgets and I've seen the films more recently.
Hence also why I've considered them by entertainment value rather than perceived cinematic quality. There's an open debate on how good any of these films actually are, as films, but I have always maintained that their principal purpose is to be entertaining and I've judged them mostly on that. This makes fitting in Infinity War a struggle, because I do think its most remarkable quality is that they managed to make it work at all and any consequent assessment is in the shadow of that - also because it's explicitly the first of a two-parter and therefore while it can be judged up to a point I feel that the verdict is still somewhat open in a way that it isn't for the others.
Those I thoroughly enjoyed and would happily watch again:
The Avengers
Captain America: Civil War
Thor: Ragnarok
Spiderman: Homecoming
Guardians of the Galaxy, vol. 2
Those that I enjoyed at the time but might not bother watching again:
Ant-Man
Thor
Iron Man
Avengers: Infinity War
Those that were fine but I'm not fussed about:
Iron Man 3
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Incredible Hulk
Doctor Strange
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Black Panther
Those that weren't quite up to the mark:
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World
Those I haven't seen yet:

Ant-Man and the WaspGITP Blood Bowl Manager Cup

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Ranking things is so much fun.
I had a few issues as I have not seen Captain Marvel or Ant-man and the Wasp yet, but I rank the MCU movies as such:
The good (watch whenever I want easy entertainment):
1. Spider-man: Homecoming
2. Infinity War
3. The Avengers
4. The Winter Soldier
5. Guardians of the Galaxy
6. Iron Man
7. Thor: Ragnarok
The meh (would watch again if interested):
8. Civil War
9. Ant-man
10. Black panther
11. Captain America
12. Iron Man 3
13. Iron Man 2
The not-really-interested-in-seeing-ever-again:
14. Thor
15. The Incredible Hulk
16. Doctor Strange
The really-bad-regret-seeing:
17. Age of Ultron
18. Guardians of the Galaxy 2
19. The Dark World

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
In fairness, I've noticed no matter how you ask the question, there's going to be some change based on mood. I've taken it once a day for the past several days, and noticed that my top 5 and bottom 5 stay consistent (same films in the same slots). The other films can move around, sometimes quite a bit.
So even if I follow my "Someone is buying one for me, which one do I want" idea, I still get variation. Age of Ultron is probably the biggest change. I've seen it go from 7th to 15th."That's a horrible idea! What time?"

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
Favorite Marvel movie? How can I possibly make such a decision? That's like asking me for my favorite flavor of ice cream or my favorite genre of porn. I can't choose just one.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
There is a similar website called flickchart.com that does every movie ever made, and breaks it up into groups. I'm not sure if this does that, or is just for the MCU. Checking, I've ranked 733 movies on that site. The list it gives me is basically the same order that I got on this site. It comes down to Guardians and Avengers movies at the top, Ant-Man and Captain America movies at the bottom.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
My list:
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther
Captain America: The First Avenger
Iron Man 3
The Avengers
Iron Man
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man
Doctor Strange
Captain America: Civil War
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Thor
Captain Marvel
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World
The Incredible Hulk
Pretty accurate pertaining to my preferences. Honestly, the first five all kind of have the same preference in my mind. And the last few aren't exactly bad, I think, but are on the scale of 'meh' to 'lame'.

Re: Your favorite Marvel film
I replied with my favorites rather than with I'd watch right now (otherwise Captain Marvel would have ended up lower, as I saw it a few weeks ago). I already knew the top and the bottom of the list, the middle makes sense... though maybe I've been a bit too generous with Age of Ultron, just because I like team-ups.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Avengers: Infinity War
Captain America: Civil War
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The Avengers
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Captain Marvel
Iron Man
Captain America: The First Avenger
Iron Man 3
Ant-Man
Thor
Doctor Strange
Black Panther
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World
The Incredible Hulk

Logan. Hands down.
Also look at this paradox I just created:
"I only like good movies, and I like every MCU film."
Because the two statements contradict each other!
