Iím down for having golden stripes. Stripes are actually good for stealth a lot of the time.

Stripes (especially just on the abdomen) would be pretty realistic (in fact, who knows maybe there already are ants out there with golden striped abdomens out there).
Solid golden color would be more fantastical.
I'd be happy with either direction.

Yeah a quick googling showed me that as well as probably a better example in the golden-tailed spiny ant. Admittedly I was thinking of thinner stripes, but yeah. Totally a real thing.

Power Orbs again huh? Well I hope the details of how they work are different at least this time around. Like different power types or whatnot.

The mechanics are the same (as in, each type of power progresses through lesser-moderate-greater-final) but the individual abilities that you gain will be different, and I'll try to come up with some new power types to gain.

I like the system with the power orbs. Obtaining more power sources from your allies or foes is a useful goal to work towards, both for you and for the other groups.

However, this time around, don't expect that your power orb is exactly the same as the other power sources in the setting. I have some new ideas on that side of things.

Certainly part of the difficulty was having to think up new things. But I think the bigger part of it was that we'd tied ourselves into a mostly irl scientific approach for tech and we'd basically made everything we could really need by the end.
Which is why one of my proposed actions for this round was to try and early on establish working with non-irl human style tech this time around.

Zektak, truly a power seeker, is feeling especially helpful in this new dawn of an Ant Hive. So he seeks power by helping those who also seek mystical power. So far, the best candidate looks to be Ant-Eye, who is working to manifest a ranged attack. She he walks over and near the marvellous power radation of the Power Source, assists Ant-Eye manifesting a ranged attack!

    Turn 1: Vannethia Begins

    Actions
    -Research Power (Swarm)
    -Get food
    -Investigate treehoppers

Theoanta totally fails at investigation of the treehoppers.

Fiona tries to follow a treehopper to its home, but it quickly becomes clear that they donít really have homes. They just live where they can eat.

Dave, while standing around at the Power Orb, helps to avert a potential disaster that would have occurred while the research was going on. See the corresponding action.

Antitan discovers a few spots in and around the roots that would be good locations for guard outposts.

Even with Zektakís help, Ant-Eye fails to manifest any ranged attacks. This seems kind of pointless if you donít have any Power Traits yet.

Antimony attempts to grow wings; however, as she is not a queen, it would take a greater level of Power to change her anatomy around like that. (Although it would be easier than many other anatomical improvements.)

JoJoAnt finds great success in developing martial arts, but he doesnít yet know what the success actually was.
(Flappeercraft, I would very much like an explanation of what Hamon is. Iíve never actually read JoJoís Bizarre Adventure.)

Antigone digs a few pit traps with some help from a few other ants.

    Research Power (Swarm)
Failure. The Power Orb started to glow dimmer and make an odd sound for a few seconds, but Dave decided to touch it and it calmed down with the touch. That might be something to look into why.

    Get food
You collect some plant parts from the surrounding undergrowth, but itís not much.
    Food Storage +2

    Investigate treehoppers
You get to observe them, but not to interact with them much. You discover that they live on the thinner twigs of the tree (as well as the stems of surrounding plants), where they can drink the sap by piercing it with their mouthparts, and they are very good at jumping. Also, the liquid they produce sometimes is delicious.

The Greatest Threads Of GiantITP (in my opinion):
A story of the exact wrong way to run a campaign.
The best thread derailment of all time.
The "canonical" list of Mostly Useless Magic Items.
    A ridiculous campaign.
    Weird dreams.

    Hmm.
Fiona shall embark on a Fantastic (F)journey to the east to scout out threats within a half-dayís travel. At the first sign of real danger she will return to the Horde very quickly.

    Research Power
Capture some of the tree-hoppersí eggs to raise the children in captivity (like heroes)
Gather Food (Iím not going to ever feel secure with this small of surplus on hand)
