    Skill Research 6/15
    Power Research 8/15
    Food 6/20

    Colony
Power Chamber- Holds your Power Source. Actions can be spent to do Research on the source to unlock new Power Traits.
Central Hive- Includes the Queen's chamber, the resting areas, and the central tunnel leading to the surface. All other sections of the Colony branch off from here.
Soldier Warren- Soldiers rest and train here, located higher up along the central tunnel to allow early reaction to attacks on the Hive.
Food Storage- Can currently hold 20 food.
Pit Traps- Protective traps dug around the entrance.
Watch Posts- Regular patrols of the immediate area are based out of these.
Treehopper Nymphs- You have 1 size of recently-hatched treehopper nymphs. Feeding them requires either a hive action or 3 hero actions until you figure out a way to stop them from leaving.
Garden Space You could grow plants here, if you figure out how.

    Discoveries
Power Source- A perfect, bright golden orb that emits strange magical energies, located in your Power Chamber. Allows you to research Power.
Great Tree- The colony is built underneath an enormous, beautiful tree, larger than those around it and surrounded by undergrowth. The entrance to your colony is between two of its roots, with the main trunk to the north of the entrance. Apparently has the potential to boost magic effects using your Life powers.
Treehoppers- Small creatures that look like leaves at a distance and move around by jumping. They live high on the tree, as well as on the smaller plants around it, where they drink sap by piercing the plant with their mouthparts. They secrete a sweet fluid sometimes.
You have now discovered that baby treehoppers (nymphs) look exactly like smaller adults, unlike ant larvae.
Walking Sticks- The other type of insect that lives on your tree, these are far larger than you or the treehoppers and are indistinguishable from sticks while they stand still.
Stream- Wider across than the length of a hundred ants, this stream is south of the Great Tree. It flows from west to east, and was discovered to turn northward after a while by Fiona and Antigone. You have now marked its banks with pheromones.
New discoveries by Antigone show that it flows northeast for quite some time, farther than a turn’s journey.
Sloth- An enormous creature that is located in a neighboring tree. It has four limbs with three claws on each, gray-green fur, and does not like to move very much.
Weaver Ants- Another hive of ants that live in a tree far to the north-northeast. Antigone discovered them, but has not interacted with them yet.

    Biological Traits
Appearance: You used to look like most other ants, with black chitin and three rings of golden yellow around the abdomen.
After gaining Life powers, your black chitin has started to turn more towards green. Your golden stripes, however, remain unaffected.
Swarm- Doubles the outcome of an action, positive or negative. 3 turn cooldown.

    Skill Traits
Rudimentary Tools- Some workers have begun using small objects (sticks, rocks, etc) as tools to help them work more effectively.

    Power Traits
Life (lesser) - You have an increased rapport with the growth and form of the life around you - and this jungle is teeming with life. You gain a 50% bonus to all food gathered or produced.

    Heroes - In Hive:
    JoJoAnt: Soldier - Health 6, Attack 3, Armor 2, Speed 2, Skill 1, Power 1
    Ant-Eye Aircraft Weaponry: Power Seeker - Health 5, Attack 1, Armor 1, Speed 3, Skill 2, Power 3
    Antimony: Power Seeker - Health 5, Attack 1, Armor 1, Speed 3, Skill 2, Power 3
    Fiona: Speedster - Health 5, Attack 2, Armor 1, Speed 4, Skill 2, Power 1
Dave Foreici Espimoda: Pit Boss - Health 6, Attack 1, Armor 2, Speed 2, Skill 3, Power 1
    Antitan: Guardian - Health 8, Attack 1, Armor 3, Speed 1, Skill 1, Power 1
    Theoanta: Generalist - Health 6, Attack 2, Armor 2, Speed 2, Skill 2, Power 1
    Zektak: Power Seeker - Health 5, Attack 1, Armor 1, Speed 3, Skill 2, Power 3

    Heroes - Outside Hive
    Antigone: Speedster - Health 5, Attack 2, Armor 1, Speed 4, Skill 2, Power 1 - Weaver ant hive, 2 turns travel north-northeast

Oh, sorry about that. The answer is that you will have to wait until the hero level-up, but power-related hero traits are available to create now.

    Turn 4: Power Failure

    Actions
    -Research Power
    -Research Skill
    -Gather food
    -Begin domesticating the hatching treehoppers

All hero actions relating to power fail due to the problem with your power source (see the actions). This includes JoJoAnt, Ant-Eye, and Antimony and Zektak.

Theoanta and Dave help with skill research.

Antigone walks along the stream bank for days on end, becoming the first Vannethian ant to ever spend a night outside of the hive. She manages to forage enough food for herself. The stream follows a rather complicated path to the northeast, turning between east and north every so often and even going south for a little while at one point. Antigone keeps walking, but never discovers an end to the stream.
Antigone is now far northeast of Vannethia. It will take her another turn to get back.

Antitan and Fiona’s actions are detailed under the related hive action.

    Research Power
Failure! Your Power Source’s glow dims down and all attempts to interact with it just bounce off. It takes the better part of the turn to get it to come back, and during that time the power of each individual ant drastically decreases. You still get your food bonus due to the large number of ants participating, but all hero actions relating to power fail this turn.

(This was almost, but not quite, a critical failure. If it had been critical, it would’ve lasted past this turn.)

    Research Skill
    Success, Skill +2

    Gather food
    Failure

    Begin domesticating the hatching treehoppers
Antitan, Fiona and a number of other ants gather around the eggs as they hatch. To great surprise, the hatching treehoppers aren’t larvae at all - they look very much like smaller versions of the adults. “Smaller” is a relative term, though, as they are about the same size as an adult ant. The ants bring them food, and they seem rather docile at first, but after some time it becomes apparent that they feed exclusively on the sap inside of the plants, which you have no method of extracting - and if you let them out of the colony to eat from plants, they would just escape. Fiona and Antitan spend the rest of the turn trying and failing to come up with a method of harvesting sap.

    2 Food consumed
    +2 Size from Growth

    If so!

    - Research Skill

    - Research Sap Harvesting by trying to chew through bark until sap is found?

Zektak tries to find a way to make Research Power failures less bad! Or just find a way to make them more likely to succeed, whatever works.

Antigone heads north, from the north, to the northern north.

I think Antigone is going to be traveling for a while so I'm going to be doing some mapping.

Please make that document public. I can't see it right now.

Edit: I didn't see the Bill Wurtz reference at first. You probably won't be finding two types of land to (not) name accordingly, though. This is quite a large jungle.

They can drink the sap of pretty much any plant that has it. Young ones like the sap of the undergrowth plants, while adults like tree sap more.

Could we just cut off parts of undergrowth plants and bring them in to the babbies? They can extract the sap themselves if we just bring in the plants.

I'm very sorry, but I have been very busy and tired the last few days. I'm going to have to postpone the update to tomorrow.

    Turn 5: New Knowledge

    Actions
    -Research Power (Swarm)
    -Research Skill
    -Gather food
-Make a space to grow plant for the treehopper nymphs

Antimony and Ant-Eye try to help with power research. It doesn’t go so well.

Dave stands watch over the Power Orb, helping to prevent what happened last turn.

Zektak cannot work on reducing the chances of failure because he is too busy fixing this failure.

Due to the power failure, JoJoAnt does not make any progress with augmenting his own abilities.

Fiona leads a treehopper nymph out of the colony to feed on the undergrowth, and holds it in place while it eats. It takes all of her patience and concentration, but she manages to keep it from hopping away, and even gets it back into the colony.
Then she realized that she now has to do this a hundred more times.

After Antitan realizes that he doesn’t know how to build things, he and Theoanta help Fiona feed the hoppers. Together the three of them manage to get each of the nymphs fed.
(Until you figure out a way to keep them in place, this will either take 3 hero actions or 1 hive action each turn.)

Antigone heads north, slowly diverging from the path of the stream. She travels for more days and nights, and is now very far from the hive. It will now take her two turns to travel back.
Near the end of the turn, Antigone notices a strange shape in the canopy of a tree. She climbs the tree to look at it, and is amazed to see that it is a gigantic bundle of leaves, with small red ants going in and out!
Then one of the ants notices Antigone, and suddenly it feels very awkward.
    “…Hello?”

    Research Power (Swarm)
Failure! The orb dims again, lowering everyone’s power. However, by this point Antimony, Dave, Ant-Eye, and Zektak know how to fix it, so it only takes part of the turn. All power-related actions have a reduced chance of success due to the limited time that your power is available for.

(I seriously don’t know what’s been going on with these rolls. Two near-critical failures in a row.)

    - Research how to get the power not to fail as bad
    - Research Skill

Zektak tries really hard to get more grip on the power of the Power Orb, so it's not failing so badly. As Power Seeker, this can't stand!

    - Research Power!
    - Get those plants in to feed the babby treehoppers.
    - Escort the Tree Hoppers to food (without allowing them to run off)
    - Gather Food

Fiona, upset to have been grounded for so long, takes off to the south to undertake the next of the Fantastic (F)journeys of Fiona.

Skill Vote: Growing to do these things in the proper order.

Antimony helps with trying to figure out how to stop getting so much power failure so that maybe some day she can actually have a single hero action that accomplishes anything. (Because so far not a single one.)
