    Not exactly, that would be "dictor". "Dictator" means "he who dictates (both meanings of giving orders and talking aloud for someone else to write)" or "prescribes".

    EDIT: while we are at it, tyrannos also changed meaning over time. It first meant "lord" or "suzerain", but later took on the meaning of absolute power (a lord who is above the law), and, from there, gained more sinister traits.

    Well that's just good sense, it gives a basic grounding to make learning French, Spanish, Italian, etc. easier, as well as grounding for Darth Tryocidine.
