Mispelling? What misspelling? You have no evidence.

    Kidding aside, yes I was.

I wholeheartedly recommend it if you haven't read it already. It's finished but the authors are doing a rerun (one page per day with added commentary).

Yelling usually has exclamation marks. All caps with no exclamation marks isn't very common, but it does happen (last panel of this strip):

I'm not sure that qualifies as yelling. He's in another font, too, which implies a completely different style of speaking. I'd go with "otherworldly" for now.

I can't believe that we haven't yet talked about the fact that Thad is an actual name. (It's short for Thaddeus.)

I've met people named Thad. I've never met anyone named Durkon, Hilgya, Minrah, or Sigdi. Thad is the only dwarf with a recognizable name in English.

I think there was a seamstress named Hilgya in Morrowwind ... but I guess it's not on English names lists.

How do you know he's a dwarf? The guy she got engaged to after him has horns and a white-on-blue speech bubble, so I think "she's a dwarf who wouldn't date outside her species" is an unlikely assumption.

With as curved as those horns are, and not facing in the same direction, putting a helmet over them sounds like one heck of a challenge.

Unless the helmet is magical, which is of course well within the realm of possibility....I'm still slightly annoyed that my Argonian/Khajiiti characters in Morrowind couldn't wear full helms...or shoes.

    • how can someone have broke up if that person is still be fiance? Or does it means Thad is in the family and the celestial now dates a relative of Thad? omg, I hope they made a lots of family meeting to manage this.

"She" would be Durkon's cousin's brother-in-law's niece, while Thad would be whoever Durkon's cousin's brother-in-law's niece had been together with the last time Durkon had heard.

Pretty sure those horns are just on the helmet, rather than protruding out of it. It's not an uncommon design in the comic. Tarquin had a horned helmet at one point. Hilgya has one now.

Hmm. I can't think of any dwarves with more traditional names off the top of my head, either. Humans in OOTS have a mix, though, of real names (Roy, Haley, Girard, Crystal) and fantastical names (Dorukan, Nale), so it's possible other races (species?) do as well.

    You’re missing the point.

Durkon didn’t know about him — so neither did Durkula. The evil plan didn’t consider him (or if it did, it didn’t consider him because of Durkon’s independent knowledge).
The Giant says: Yes, I am aware TV Tropes exists as a website. ... No, I have never decided to do something in the comic because it was listed on TV Tropes. I don't use it as a checklist for ideas ... and I have never intentionally referenced it in any way.
