Re: Whispers Bard + Rogue? (Help)
Rogue probably isn't going to supply too much beyond it's first level, unless you find yourself getting caught with adjacent enemies constantly.
So my recommendation is to grab 1 level into Rogue fairly early (maybe next level, or at level 4), and then ignore Rogue until after Bard 5. Then only consider having more Rogue if you are regularly getting caught out of position. The additional casting, and the Short Rest refreshing of Bardic Inspiration, will provide more for you as a manipulator than a few levels into Rogue will (unless you really need the extra mobility/stealth).Last edited by Man_Over_Game; 2019-05-21 at 05:16 PM.

Re: Whispers Bard + Rogue? (Help)
Level 2 is a big level. I would suggest taking at least that much, as it supplies a lot of mobility and makes sneaking easier.
My big question to the OP is what their objective is? Expertise in everything?
Probably good to have Stealth, Deception, Perception, and Insight to start with, maybe followed by Thieve's Tools and Sleight of Hand.Avatar of Rudisplork Avatar of PC-dom and Slayer of the Internet. Extended sig

Re: Whispers Bard + Rogue? (Help)
Maybe? But as a ranged caster, who's spells usually have about 60 feet of range, what's all that mobility going to do for you? Casting while Hidden doesn't do much when most of your spells are Saving Throws. I guess you can Dash across the battlefield every turn?
It's a lot of awesome for someone who plans on Hiding or weaving through melee combat. But how does that help a Whispers Bard? I guess he can hide before he attacks, but the Whispers Bard is less reliant on Advantage (and attacks) than other builds.
