Alright! I edited in a reply to Rose. Everyone should be caught up. Love's text message was probably very coy, but Rose would be able to figure it out since the message was designed for Rose.

Sorry for the delay, guys. I think Brazen should get in on this bomb before it blows up in your faces, hopefully not literally.

Is love getting any off-putting vibes from this 'plan' with that solider roll?

It's not a common tactic, but some griffons do set elaborate traps for rivals. Vedina is not known for it though.

DKS, would you like Love to eye laser Longshot information on the group? If he doesn't have his collar, she could lend him one? A collar would allow him to get in on the BugBot action!

Go ahead and send the information over to him via laser eyes, sure. I figured that LS kept the collar since that seemed reasonably important and it's easily his. I'm just not 100% on the nuts and bolts of it yet.

Milt, I'm a touch disoriented IRP. Did we transfer to the ship proper between the past two posts or are we still on the docks?

I...don't know, to be honest. I thought that you all thought you had, though I never said you did. At the moment, the marines are at the foot of the docking ramp, checking all on and off traffic. After handing you your coats, one offered to show you your quarters. This would involve taking you aboard. However, I tried to word it in such a way that it wouldn't matter if you all thought you were already onboard or still on the docks.

    I can eye laser him!

I think a word was forgotten? The collar is a really strange item! I imagine it'll take some major mental adjustments. The collar is basically Love's ability without the extra Loves. Wearing the collar, Longshot is a living computer that can interact with electronics with his thoughts (via wireless/wire). He can share his mind and receive the same in kind with other digital minds! No earbuds or goggles required!

That should have been 'easily hid', not 'easily his'.

And, yeah. That's going to be nifty but a major realignment. Spiffy. For some reason, I thought it was only related to our armor teleportation.

That makes sense! Love tried to design the appearance in a way Longshot would like (aka feel free to describe as desired). It is disguised to appear as a normal collar.

I can see where that thought comes from. There were talks about turning our armor into a collar, but we got teleportation instead. The item is deeper than it appears! The horrible news. The collar mostly negates Love's need to shoot lasers into people's eyes.

    Neural Interface

Neural interfaces capture and amplify nerve impulses and/or muscle movements, translating them into digital commands for an electronic device or a computer interface. Neural interfaces let a person move a computer cursor just by thinking about it, or fire an interface equipped gun without having to pull a trigger. A neural interface also permits commands to be entered “with the speed of thought” ... which is often not much faster than speech.

The interaction is two-way: data displays, physical feedback, and other sensory information can be transmitted directly into the user’s brain. There is no need for a user to touch controls or see physical data displays. He can have the equivalent of a HUD (p. 24) overlaid on his visual field, so he can “live” in augmented reality (pp. 56-57). A direct neural interface is required for certain technologies, such dream teachers (p. 59), sensies (pp. 157-158), and total virtual reality (p. 54).

Sensies are recordings or transmissions of another person’s sensory experiences. They are sensory telepathy, transmitted through total virtual reality (p. 54) media. Users require direct neural interfaces (pp. 48-49) and experience full sensory input as if they were really there.

But see, the marines aren't ON the boat. They're on the dock, right in front of the gangplank that leads to the boat.

This is what I mean. Someone says they're one place, but everyone acts like everyone is in the same place. Which leaves me floundering, wondering WHERE everyone thinks they are.

Last I remember, Rose was watching them move cargo so I assumed she was on the docks, just distant from the others. This was because there was a time or two when LS addressed Rose and there was no response.

Yes, I wanted Rose to be on the docks to watch the crew load our stuff on the ship. She was responding to Love via text when Love told her about the bomb in the package.

If the secretary is going to try and force us above the radar then we might as well oblige her.

I edited my last post slightly as I have a better gameplan in mind.

To be clear, I'd hoped that spying on the captain would give us a more definite understanding of who was playing whom. But that's not going to happen so brute force it is.

It's kinda weird that carrying around a live bomb seems almost mundane at this point, but here we are.

We're giving up on the plan? Should Love watch their meeting then?

And, yes, Love is collecting evidence on the captain/bomb ponies. The plan was to present it to the Officer if he turned out to be above board in this whole thing?

If anything goes wrong, we're on the hook for it. We brought the bomb on the ship and we'd be the ones giving it to a suspected spy. Sure, Love's evidence would clear us in the long run, but it would still cause a lot of pain and embarrassment.

Whether we give it to the captain or the flunkie, we need to pick a side and force the issue. What's everyone want to do?

And whether we do or no, it would be better for the captain not to know we're watching.

Should I try to distract the officer so he has a harder time noticing what Longshot is doing?

Here are my thoughts: I might be making a miscalculation.

My worry is that if anyone in the trio is the spy, we did something with a bomb on the dock. We might trigger that looking bad outcome, and it'll be the trio against us? If they're not the spy, we might ruin the plan. If they are the spy, they'll know we have a bomb.

If the Officer is the spy and we continue onward, we might catch him. If he is not the spy, we have a headache, but may be able to get him to side with us with enough evidence. And, we'll have time to snoop for more evidence. Hack computers? Do a little research? Inform the military base? Get an idea of who the spy is?

What's the plan to get rid of the bomb? Evacuate the dock and disarm? Throw it in the ocean? It'd be better to throw away the bomb at sea away from the dock?

Edit If I'm being asked to select a side to force. I'll have to think about it. The captain is clearly more suspicious, but us confronting him could go real bad.
