    Nice critical dodge!

If you are wondering why your damage rolls are so low, you rolled 3d6 instead of 6d6!

I'll admit I wasn't expecting the mare to beg for help.

Those are some pretty good damage rolls! Mostly above average.

Things turned hulk to horror real quick. I guess she might have lost control.

That's a pretty scary thought. If it provides any comfort, she was described as blown away. That's a good sign.

Reality isn't working as normal. It's hard to say. Hopefully, the book has some answers.

I'd like second opinions/thoughts. Should Love try to dispel the magic on the book, or should she fight the zombie attacking her? I don't know if Love can dispel anything, and Brazen does seem to be hurting his zombie.

Edit I do like when people take advantage of auto-mapping data.

My philosophy has always been that if you cut off the head, the snake dies.

That said... given how strong this spell is, would dispelling it even be within the realm of plausibility?

@Digo, Rose could have tried to convince the Admiral to go investigate? No offense, she wasn't very proactive about convincing the Admiral.

It's a gamble, and Love is getting tired. It seems more unlikely that she can get rid of the spell than defeat/slow down her zombie. It seems less plausible that going after the chaos spell would work?

That's my gut-take reaction to the situation: that we'd have a more reliable chance of killing zombies than dispelling the spell. But I don't know exactly how the rules apply to this situation.

(Assuming, of course, that we stop taking it easy on the zombies.)

My concern with the idea is that we have the unconscious captain with us. I don't think Rose could convince the admiral to leave him or take him with us. I thought Love had a holo not with Rose, but I'm not sure what happened with that idea. I figured then LS would return to help explain the situation, because there's a lot of chatting but I wasn't seeing Rose's name around it. I did see that Longshot mentioned being unable to apprehend the assistant and... something about a creature? Yeah see, I'm out of the loop here.

It wasn't a holo boy, per se. There was a bugbot with Rose tied into the comm system so that Rose could hear and join in with all of our chatter.

I had LS tied the bugbot and comm systems together so that we were broadcasting about both simultaneously to avoid this exact problem and... I bolded the word 'EDF' in my posts so that everyone would know they were being addressed as I provided updates on the situation.

And, uh, I told everyone what my actions were IC. LS never said anything about coming back to talk to the Admiral. He said that he was heading to Brazen's location because he and Love reported immediate threats.

Yep! The BugBot was acting as a pseudo-earbud/walkie-talkie. Love used it to talk to Rose.

I wanted to get Rose a Bugbot and a HoloBot. The problem with the HoloBots is that they are larger and slower than BugBots. They aren't designed for stealth or sleuthing but being mobile holoprojectors. It would have been much more difficult to get Rose a HoloBot from the mess hall outta Love's saddlebag. The HoloBot not really being an option without coordinating a pickup, Love could only plant a local BugBot on Rose.

I guess the bugbot thing wasn't explained well for me. Like, why have a bugbot as a comm when Rose has a comm? I read the posts with the bolded EDF, but that's all I followed.

Still couldn't think of a logical argument that would deal with the unconscious captain though. That chained Rose down in place.

He would have downed that potion, and everything would be very different. I doubt him being an air elemental and talking bad about us would have been beneficial.

I thought Rose had a really strong start with the Admiral! I liked the idea of showing him the video/evidence as well. I wasn't sure if the plan was for Love to enter the conversation with the Admiral/Rose to show him the video or to talk things out a different way. I asked a couple times if Love should show him the video or do something else to help, but I didn't get any replies. I didn't want to interrupt Rose's scene without permission.

    I don't recall seeing those questions. :(

I thought that Love wold be listening in on Rose's conversation when she went to deliver the package (again, I genuinely thought that the bug Love put on Rose was one of those types that create a Love hologram like from the Nightmare night party, so she can interact with Rose's side of things). Rose did tell the admiral that the team tech has the video evidence to show him, and that was Love's cue to get into the conversation, but either you missed that or Love is too busy in combat to reply. I don't know. So now I'm officially frustrated with this game because I don't know what Rose is supposed to know and what others know about Rose's situation.

Ah, that would be why I never got a reply.

Love could could have heard everything; that was the point of the BugBot. I wanted to do a BugBot and HoloBot, but I felt that plan was opposed/didn't have any support. So, I did the BugBot thing on my own. And, my hope was that Rose had her HoloPhone if needed. I saw Rose tell the admiral that Love was on the way. My next post in the OoC was asking if that was a cue from Rose for Love to talk to the Admiral.

Well, for the record I was fine with that plan. I added a "" to my statement about getting caught up in conspiracy with Rose to help flag that comment as not serious.

I am confused about why you mentioned the team had no way to communicate with Rose other than texts? Rose has her cell phone (for texting), but she also has her commlink on her and it is running (in fact, Rose has TWO commlinks on her to communicate with the team. The second one is implanted in her head). Anyone could call her at any point. She even used it to tell the team she was making the delivery to the admiral. Rose was texting because it just seemed casual and quiet to anyone who might of been spying on her and Brazen while he worked a bomb. But Rose could of went voice if asked.

If so, Love could/would have included Rose in every Scomm message. Scomm is just anything that is silent/hard to detect. Earbuds. Digital Minds. Neural Interfaces. Internal Comms(?). To me, it's like our 'general chat' for important topics.

Oh. I honestly didn't know that's what you meant by sitrep. I thought LS wanted eyes on him, like a bugbot to help him. That was why Rose didn't respond. I remember "sitch" being used to ask for situation updates, but I don't remember you using sitrep before.

Had I known that all three of Rose's teammates weren't coming for her, then I might have asked for help, but that needed some predictive powers I unfortunately lack. I expected LS to backtrack to Rose again before joining the other fight, so... honestly I was just trying to be patient that the team would either call her or come help her out of being held prisoner.

Didn't help Rose's situation that the admiral has no idea who we are. I thought he'd know something about us on his ship, but guess I was wrong about that too.

Naw. The joke meant that I fully expected us to get into trouble because earlier we were over-analyzing the bomb situation. I was not surprised when the admiral pulled a gun on Rose.

I didn't know Rose had her commlink on her, but she has her phone which is about the same thing(?).
Rose's cell phone and her comm are two different devices. The comm is the earbud military communicator she was given as part of her standard gear. Now, as I understood how the comm works, it does not inherently have storage capacity. This is why Rose carries a cell phone; she uses that to store recordings, images, and texts from her comm (both devices are linked). When Rose gave away her cell phone in the last mission, she started carrying her laptop around to record things. That was the intention at least.

And, Rose has an implanted commlink!?! Is it silent!? Does Love have the number/know about that?
Rose's internal commlink is pure mental-controlled. She just thinks and it'll broadcast to recipients. However, since Rose isn't physically speaking, I am assuming there is some kind of mental thought-to-speech program that makes it sound like Rose's voice when the receiver gets the message. Someone with a program that analyzes speech recordings could probably figure that out? And yes, assume Rose told Love, LS, and Brazen that she has that second comm in her head. The number is probably just a copy of her standard comm unit. I got the implant so that Rose would have a backup comm to her team.

If so, Love could/would have included Rose in every Scomm message. Scomm is just anything that is silent/hard to detect. Earbuds. Digital Minds. Neural Interfaces. Internal Comms(?). To me, it's like our 'general chat' for important topics.
Maybe you don't remember--last mission I had brought up the complaint that I had a hard time following comm calls because they often didn't have context on who was supposed to receive the calls. So we agreed to preface the recipient in bold before the call. At least, preface Rose or EDF if Rose is meant to hear the message since I was the one having trouble following calls. That way there would be no confusion if I needed to read them.

Since none of your messages during combat had that tag, I did not read most of them. I skimmed over some of them to get a basic idea of how the fight was progressing, but I assumed Rose didn't hear any of it.

Ah, If I had understood things that way, Love probably would have joined Rose as back-up when talking to the Admiral. I did like that idea, but I thought I was being shot down. Love has been preparing to convince the Admiral of our innocence since we got the bomb.

This is why Rose carries a cell phone; she uses that to store recordings, images, and texts from her comm (both devices are linked). When Rose gave away her cell phone in the last mission, she started carrying her laptop around to record things. That was the intention at least.
Ah. I assumed everyone took their earbud out because we were going undercover so Scomms were mostly disabled.

Someone with a program that analyzes speech recordings could probably figure that out? And yes, assume Rose told Love, LS, and Brazen that she has that second comm in her head. Ah! It is an scomm device. Nice! Love can help run security with that? Love runs security over the comm devices she has access to.

Rose has an internal comm device! That means she should receive every single bold Scomm unless I type Scomm to Longshot/Brazen/Etc (as a private message). Every bold text from Love since the start of the mission was to Rose (or anyone with an Scomm)!

I think getting the bomb package so early made me forget to mention it earlier. But in any case, Rose retained her comm device. It was the guns and survival gear she put in the crate.

But that's not what we agreed on. Bolding Scomm is fine to describe what kind of message it is, but my issue was with who the recipient is. So all this time I wasn't reading your messages. :/

I actually thought Seaworthy was our first/port contact to give us our disguises. Love didn't put much into the box. She is mostly carrying all her gear.

I didn't even know Rose had a device capable of silent comms. That's why Love BugBot'd Rose before Rose went into a room alone. Love and Rose could have talked through the robot, but the thing was I thought I was being requested not to chat with Rose. I was trying to be respectful by not talking to Rose/Admiral.

Well! If Rose has Scomms, Love will use them extensively. Love gets real skittish around security matters and defaults to Scomm when there are spies ahoof! She disguises everyone's comms as her pirating the latest hotest movies. She gets quiet and her language becomes more coded. I'll feel free to talk to Rose more this way.
