I had Love scomming a lot, but she was doing something! She was getting some food.

Love is so hungry. She heads down to the galley. She barges into the room with energy. She isn't trying to make a scene, but she is being a little loud. Her mind more on food than being quiet.

She looks for her good friendly escort because she made him a deal. If she can find him, she approaches and says, "Hey, do you want to grab some food with me?" If she can't find him, she'll have to do this alone and get some gruel. Either way, she is getting some food!

Wait, are we still thinking about the same type of ship? Love would be pretty excited about working on the Tyrant.

If we're talking about the other type of ship, I'm not sure why Love would try to fix a RoseXChrysalis. Rose rejected that ship.

Red Tape is probably happy that Rose chose him.

That sounds pretty adorable. And, dangerous! Heavy and actually dangerous things are in these bags. Null would probably love Love's computer. And, flying! Who doesn't like to fly!? Love has always dreamed of flying and she got to experience that for the first time during downtime.

I recommend not giving Null computer stuff. She might do something bad with them. :o

Can't wait for Rose to make use of her flying spell.

I hope she has cast it off screen! A first casting can be a bit bumpy.

Take it from someone who had been to a shrink for some time--everyone changes at very different speeds. Especially for someone like Null who knew nothing other than the little plugged-in world she was born into.

That sounds boring though! Should be an on-screen test!

Love is working on expanding her world. Of course everything wouldn't have changed! Some things might have changed though. If there is one thing the Charges do well it is adapt and learn.

    I'll wish you luck.

Yeah, even normal failure with teleport is really bad. The spell says the person ends up somewhere, but doesn't limit the location. The crit failure says to make it interesting. There are some nasty spell failures. A failure on a time slip can get real interesting!

It's a bit odd that there is just one word differentiating regular fail with crit fail. I would have assumed regular fail puts you somewhere in the general area depending on how much you fail by, and you have to orient yourself from that, but I dunno.

The scary thing is that I have to take Timeport to make a prereq for something else I want. I'll try not to have Rose mess with the time line and give The Doctor a headache. XD

Love has had some good interactions with Blank! Hey! Treat him nicely. Love: "He is family!" Blank made excellent progress over the trip in the wasteland. Three months might really surprise Rose!

I think the spell gives the gm a lot of leeway on any failure. If the pony wants to go where they want to go they should successfully cast the spell. Luckily, Rose didn't end up in a different dimension or somewhere else on the time line.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the group having easy access to time travel. The group can't even handle teleport. It'd be nice to change the prereq or something. That spell will dramatically change the game.

Rose had what may have been the best interactions with Blank last mission. Part of the time they actually had a calm, intelligent discussion. :o

I don't think Teleport can cross time on a crit fail. My assumption is based on the wording in Timeport where crit failures can land you in different eras. Not sure about dimensions, though I think there is a separate Gate spell for dimension-hopping.

I enjoyed their interaction. Rose didn't murder him!

Maybe! It seems very open to interpretation.

We can dismiss our armor then re-summon it. We can put our armor on very quickly that way. I think there should be a conversation before anyone gains easy access to time travel. Time travel would be very open to abuse.

Rose hasn't killed anyone on-screen in a long time. :?

Maybe! It seems very open to interpretation.
I checked the spell list, and there are separate time and dimension spells. So yeah, my own interpretation is that each holds their own crit-failure dangers separately.

Also, I might be able to get the spell I want without taking the Timeport spell.

Even if Rose had the spell, she'd likely not use it with any of you. She also wouldn't abuse it herself, for obvious reasons as demonstrated with the Teleport spell.

And we never heard from Rose again...

Actually, Rose's biggest temptation to use time magic would be investigative--view recent past events in a room and learn who the killer was, or what was stolen.

That sounds like it could be done with History? That'd allow Rose to view the past without being in the past?

That's good! I guess Rose talks about killing people a lot.

    I think that's a very reasonable interruption!

I think that'd be good? If we're going to time travel, that should be like a focus or something?

I'm not sure it's possible to use time magic without abusing it.

Well, yes, but... that's the safe and easy way to do it. Where's the danger and fun in that?

...okay, maybe I'll add History to the list of possibilities.

Has she? There was a mention in the beginning of the current mission, but I don't think she said much at any other point. Unless I forgot.

I'm not sure if examining a room should be full of danger! I think History could make for a good spell choice. Information spells are always great.

I remember... Rose mentioning it 3 or 4 times during our meeting with the Commander. I think she really wanted to drive home how much she was going to kill everyone.

I don't think I've ever been in a game with time travel aside from this one. I've seen a few games pop up with time travel as a focus though. Time travel seems so messy. That statement does not fill me with confidence though.

*snerk* Although not correct in this instance, Longshot holds zero blame for thinking Rose bamf'd back to Canterlot for food. If she had that kind of skill she would certainly make such inane attempts at some point. The questions for her when Rose teturns will probably clarify what happened, but the embarrassment will be forever. XD

Longshot begins gathering Rose's equipment. Perhaps he can find a blanket somewhere to fashion a bundle or something.
The medical bag has one of those shiny mylar blankets if you want to use it. It might look like you're carrying a giant baked potato, but it'll work.

Longshot was attempting to give Rose a gracious-ish explanation for her absence and cover up her teleportation to the bathroom of all places. He doesn't really believe she went for snacks.

Good to know about the mylar blanket. We can baked potato her stuff easy enough.

I had a good run with our time travel game. Admittedly, however, that was because we ran on rule of cool and agreed on the onset never to create hard and fast mechanics for the time travel aspect. It would work however we needed it to work at any given moment. The trade off was that we'd never attempt to go back and change our own actions. It worked pretty well.

Oh, well that's even better. Glad to know that Rose can count on LS for an alibi next time she gotta bury a body. :3

    On the other hoof, if Rose finds out that LS knows, she's gonna have to invest in some anti-scry magic. ^^;

I wonder if another way of doing things is to limit the travel to specific time periods. For example, the rpg Chrono Trigger does it that way, and there's some time inertia where time that passes in one era also passes at the same rate in another.

Just a thought. That was a pretty brilliant gsme, Though.

I do like my dnd (not 5e). A decent chunk of my high lethal games have been dnd. The older games were pretty brutal. A character dies at 0 hp, has 1d4 hp (I mostly play wizards), and a sword does like 1d8+(1 or 2) points of damage. It was expected characters die. Dnd typically involves a lot of fighting and dying though.

Nah, Rose mentioned wanting to kick tail, militarize, and bring weapons to bear during our meeting with the commander. There was a lot of focus on how she wanted to hurt people. Mostly to Star. Love: "Don't be a bad influence on my waifu!"

That's pretty awesome. That's a good rule as well. Time traveling would have been for 'adventuring' not fixing the group's mistakes.

That was advertising. Rose wanted the griffons to know they got the right team and not a bunch of tree huggers. XD

I've tried really hard to like 5e. I don't mind a light system. One of my favorite systems is Fate Accelerated. I wish I liked it so I could enjoy playing it with other people.

    Ah!

Love would like if Star was with us! It'd probably be easier to handle the situations with her around.

Soooo... Does Rose have to make an IT check to correctly remember the map?

Depends what the GM meant when he said Rose committed the map to memory earlier.

I mean, if the GM wants Rose to wander a bit before rejoining the team wearing nothing but a towel and illusion... I won't complain initially. XD

Honestly... at this point, I think I'm going to drop out of the IC until we've reassembled and are ready to continue.

Unfortunately, there is only so much 'interesting' stuff I can have happen and still move the story forward...

Is there a side-thread idea you'd like to start in the meantime?

Rose: "Note to self, take Longshot with me on my second stupidest teleporting idea."

Which I get and can respect. There's really no option I can see. Flying to the island means that everyone else will have to play catch up later and staying on the ship provides no alternative conversation or plot thread.

The timeline has advanced far enough that backdating a side thread could cause problems in the here and now. Any such thread would be filler at best as I have no idea what to do with Longshot since a variety of factors ruined my plan to set him up with Ruby.

I'm just stuck in a waiting game right now.

Well, Rose is apparently back. Now with added moisture.

Comms probably would reconnect now that she's in range. So... LS could go question her on why she has to be such a unicorn.
