Ok. Anyway I don't like Fathers Day because my father did a lot of bad things in my family.

Aw, that's really say. I really like Father's Day now, because my dad died way back when I was a teenager and I missed him like crazy, but now I have my own little buddy to love on and try to be as good a dad to as mine was to me.

Yes he was a drug addict. He vicious beat up my older brother when I was very young. He's definitely wasn't father material.

Nah, that's just an average session. The trial by fire is when the players start to be more evil than the campaign villain.

    Spoiler

My players once tried to resurrect a dragon in modern day London to help them take down a politician they all hated. The plan seemed to be to threaten to burn the city down unless he resigned*.

Only one party member even had a lead on what was going to be the actual result of the ritual (the next human to die within several miles of the Thames gets turned into a spirit of the river and given a serpentine form. This results in a flood a couple of hours after the ritual is completed, followed by the party suddenly being on The New Inquisition's **** list, an incredibly powerful monster being very interested in them, and the Dipsomancer's bar suffering serious damage). Unfortunately the game fell apart before we got that far.

    * To be fair, he did have the ability to control the minds of those under thirty.

On that note, Unknown Armies draws out the worst in GMs. Then again the players decided to rob multiple museums without bothering to hide their faces (although that was them actually being on-script for once, multiple plot coupons were historical artefacts).

There was also the time I was playing Unknown Armies, and we traumatised an Urbanomancer by sticking him in a cell and putting mud in the lock. Players aren't the most moral bunch of you remove the protagonist centered morality.

Second game. The first one was too linear with too few interactions to actually go off-script. But now they had to find a way to convince someone to do something.

But these aren’t the vilains, they were just supposed to be an excuse for the other guy to be hard to convince to lend his men to the project the PCs are backing.

Edit: the bad guys were supposed to be a random gang of orcs and wargs.

Ah, another DM experience you got!

I remember this very short-lived campaign I ran, the main villain for the first part was a guard captain who was working the long con and set himself up for the big score, with part of the plan being to cover his escape by blowing up a warehouse of fireworks for the city's huge festival the next night. Big enough explosion to take out an entire city block, at least, with a huge amount of expected splash damage and fires outside the initial blast zone. He ended up going down easy, while the fuse he had going was surprisingly difficult. That rope ended up being the final boss, to everyone's mix of amusement and annoyance.

Fair enough. The lament was the fact that I have to spend a weekend afternoon in a basement in front of a computer instead of outside with a book.

    Yeah.

Still didn't end the day where I wanted to be for work, but ce la vie. That's the problem when you are running something with a 5 minute run time, and need to stop and debug it. I'm not skilled enough to say that I can generate a smaller test set to have a faster run time to test things.
