    Sisterhood of Silence
    Spoiler
    Show

The Sisterhood of Silence has no grand final broadcast they are simply gone like a whisper into the Core of the Same. Their maddened dashing of their own forces against the rocks they knew would end them had at last reached its natural conclusion. Some hold out hope that they were still out there in Same space somewhere fighting the good fight but most realize when the months and then years tick by since their final check in around the old Monasteries turned CPC bases that the Mother Superior and Abbess Dorinth along with the crew that followed them on their grand fool crusade were most likely all dead. Chewed up and turned into more Same drones by one of the versions. Core Patrol officers, especially the older members who had formerly served in the Sisterhood, hold a vigil for the lost order and promise to avenge them in the final destruction of the Same.

    Core Patrol Corps
    Spoiler
    Show

[Military] Recon K11 with 4 CPC Units - With the fleets bolstered back into fighting shape by recruitment and the incredibly generous donation of Droccen warships to the cause another push is rallied to recon the Core. This time however the Corps opts not to seek engagement with the Same but to corral and scan the horde’s positions in a sector. There was little point running engagements with the Same without sufficient likelihood of inflicting significant casualties upon their number. For now, gaining information on the Same versions along norwards edge of the Core was more important than fighting the drones.

[Military] Recon I17 with 4 CPC Units - The southwestern corner of the Core was sorely behind in eyes on targets and Core Patrol seeks to remedy the lack of insight into the area with another reconnaissance push. As in their recon to the north lives and information are valued over inflicting wounds upon the Same and a sizable fleet is dispatched to conduct the exploratory sweep into the region and cow Same defenders from getting involved.

[Diplomacy] Request a new base in Jotunheim (P24) - It was well known in Axiom that the biggest ships and most impressive military shipyards lay in Celenian territory. Following a few loud meetings with Admiral Khatri CPC leadership sees it in their best interest to gain a toehold among the valiant republic. The Consul is petitioned for permission to establish a formal CPC training outpost in Celenian space. The request comes alongside a reminder that the Revolution could place the Celenians alongside the Core and the need for Core Patrol to field an armada capable of supporting a multi-sector galaxy sized war. (Request: CEL permit construction of/construct themselves a CPC base in P24. Reward: +1 Rep, +1 Favor for CEL to allocate. Expiration Date: Round 13)

    Cosmic Couriers
    Spoiler
    Show

[Diplomacy] Put a bounty on information to identify the culprit behind the J4 murder - A Relay mother has been murdered! The Couriers are deeply distraught over the death of the Relay formerly at galactic sector J4. Moderately educated Maturated races knew that Relays were “female” Couriers and the males, the general Couriers dealt with day to day, are in an uproar over the loss of a female. According to the Couriers a Relay cannot die from “natural causes” leading them to conclude a malicious or ignorant cosmic force was behind the Relay’s death. The Couriers offer a bounty of food, drink, and quality service to any Stellar Power that can provide evidence leading to the culprit believed to be responsible. (Request: Any Stellar Power present concrete evidence into the identity of the murderer who destroyed the Relay at J4. Reward: W13 Daytime Whiskey TP1, Katarsa (M27) Dipanan Cuisine TP2, & Amurrin Sector (T24) Tabine Warriors TP1. Expiration Date: Round 13)

[Economy] Buyout Dreamscape (D32) Black Sapphires TP1 - When a wormhole opens between Rass ocupied and Symbraum dominated space the nearby Couriers in W15 are quick to jump into this interstellar transit warp for fun and profit. UPT space had been rather immune to Courier commerce until this point and the Couriers seek to flood the depressed markets and acquire the powerful psionic crystals being left untapped.

[Economy] Buyout Puot System (R16) Biotumblers TP2 - While the Syndrome were perhaps the most well known and high profile genetic engineers in Axiom they were far from the only ones. The Biotumblers found in the Puot System in Duenem space, newly made accessible by Relay, were thinking machines of exceptional genetic and biological knowledge. Genetic engineering was bound to grow more popular as traits came to be identified as more useful from across the much varied genomes of species scattered about Axiom. Investment in genetic engineering now was sure to pay off some time in the future.

    An’Null’s Eradicators
    Spoiler
    Show

[Military] Purge C7 LC of the One - The attitude well known to followers of the One was in opposition to the Eradicators and this was only made more clear by recent maneuvers by the Union in the northeast. Hoping to rally some support for an underdog against a dominating centralized ideology from among the struggling ideologues Eradicators tentatively reveal the possible location of another base as they strike out into C7 to attack and drive out proselytists of the One.

[Intrigue] Raid I5 Tiny Cats TP2 from CmC - While not taking credit for the disappearance of the Relay at J2 outright the Eradicators do take advantage of the lapse in oversight from the Couriers. Raiders seize hold of Tiny Cat shipments and the animals begin to overrun the remaining Eradicator bases. Courier agents who attempt to interfere with these seizures are executed. The Eradicators say the Couriers were hiding in the center of the galaxy doing Source knows what and it was one’s duty to An’null to take radical action against the “benign” Cosmic Couriers.

    Round 12
    The Guild Enterprises of Nyx
    Vassal to the Gelean Empire

    Nyx (Sector C23), C27, E25
    Uno Ophelo, Lord of Coin

    Actions
    1. [Diplomacy] Stabilize C27 using the Aeternal Emperor's Dip 10 20 - Having come to believe the policy that had proved effective with Lot 5 was unlikely to prove successful again so soon, barring a Revolutionary rearrangement of the Nyxian neighborhood, Lord Uno funds peacekeeper forces being formed from among mercenaries already under contract with the Guilds in security capacities. These peacekeepers take to the streets to quell demonstrations and protests and restore order. Cheap food and entertainment are flooded into the market to provide additional quelling of popular dissent.
    2. [Diplomacy 5] Establish Embassy with GLR - Emperor Xavier and his Gelean Empire have helped shepherd the aspiring Guild of Nyx into a wealthy seat among the well to do of Axiom. Lord Uno follows his father's policy of loyalty and extends it, funding the foundation of formal diplomatic relations between Nyx and the Geleans. The Lord of Coin is among the first to sign the Charter of the Gelean League of Roses, believing in the strong imperial hegemony built by the Geleans and Nyxians and willing to accept other strong and capable powers into their compact.
    3. [Economy] Buyout Sapje (C17) 9-Armed Surgeons TP2 16 - Looking to recoup on losses to the Eradicators and restore the cutting edge medical services available on the battlefield more Nyxian investments flow into Sapje. The Mier Formica were making a killing off of the Nyxians if articles published by merchants in Sapje were to be believed but the demand for 9-Armed Surgeons made many doubtful of the “losses” being experienced by those Guild sponsored enterprises buying and selling the medical devices.
    4. [Economy] Buyout Buoizai System (M9) Protocol Droids TP2 17 - Since their early purchase of killbot fleets from the Faivi Ascendancy the Nyxians had been fascinated by mechanical servants. While there wasn’t any true replacement to a well trained biological in many Nyxian opinions the reliability and easy maintenance of robotic servants made them popular accessories of the well to do. The Protocol Droids repurposed from Faivi killbots were an amusing conversation piece with their “NO REPRESSED MALICE WHATSOEVER” and true utility as laborers, translators, and calculators. The Faivi are petitioned to look kindly upon a fellow thread in the fabric of the Gelean Empire and aid Nyxian merchants navigate the economic waters of so far removed markets as those of the Buoizai System.
    5. [Military 5] Recruit ‘The Kingpin’ Flaco Jr. (Mil 7) - Claiming to be one of the infamous Flaco’s many sons this brutally efficient Lyraen enforcer from D24 rose through the ranks of the Bluenose Marchers before serving the cartels directly in his adopted home sector. Recognized for his efficiency in extracting payment from recalcitrant debtors and skill at organized squads of Marchers with a ferocious discipline the new Lord of Coin views the local terror as a potential candidate for elevation to formal authority. A battery of tests orchestrated by Nyxian interests in the region sees Flaco Jr. meet the marks and the Lyraen drug lord is extended an offer to take up a mercenary captaincy within Nyx. The power hungry if somewhat simpleminded fighter gladly accepts the terms of his proposed contract and is soon outfitted with the means to command vast battlefields both on the ground and in space in the name of Nyxian, or his current contract holder’s, interests. Flaco makes only one demand, that he be recognized as ‘The Kingpin’ in future documents, a simple matter the Nyxians readily agree to flattering the strapping Lyraen’s already inflated ego further.
    6. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Lopurnan Psychic Legion volunteers - The Lopurna refugees, required to maintain refugee status for obtuse legal reasons relating to various financial evasion techniques offworld, are still expected to serve a role outside that of market and additional font of inspiration and investment. Lopurnan psychics are recruited to be embedded widely across deployed forces as instant communication and coordination links.

    Non-Actions

    UPT Embassy
    • Wag finger publicly. Cackle and high five in private.

    • Some Lopurna note that very few Nyxians served in the armed forces, opting to buy out by paying a patriotism fee, and those that did all held incredibly high ranking officer positions. The fact that the Lopurna were now not only still legally refugees but required to defend their "refuge" of a home has prompted grumblings that perhaps the Lopurna deserved a more controlling voice in government. For now it is only talk but the psychics were an influential voice now and could cause trouble if left untended.
    • Leagues both Star and Rose are coming to dominate the galaxy. The Nyxians are pleased to be well placed near the top of the Rose League's pile and happy with the powerful forces being drawn into the League by the Emperor. Celenian engineering and military capabilities were legendary. Likewise the Wardens were stalwart defenders of the galaxy with a widely popular ideology and much prestige intergalactically. Soon the Rose League would overwhelm what petty weight Star League could gather to its pompous causes from the weak and meek of Axiom. Let the galaxy be united under the banners of its most rich and powerful!

    Republic of Celes (CEL)
Under the leadership of Consul Milton Euler
    Round 12

    News and Rumors
    • CEL feels that the northern border is settled and entreats its neighbors to consider formal demarcation and nonaggression treaties in the future.
    • An impassioned refusal by RGH to resolve the situation in P22 diplomatically is met with violent shrugging from CEL. The Minister of Foreign Affairs intimates (via a hot microphone) that the plight of the Miracle Men is "really not our ****ing problem" and that "Aneb can rot for all I care."
    • Tepid calls to remove the Minister of Foreign Affairs from his post are forgotten as a rising star in the Azure party is accused of being an antiaeonist bigot.
    • Pending a massive offensive against the Same, CEL cautions the galaxy at large against incitement and provocation. It would be unwise to be the reason for the Celenian armada diverting from their mission to the Core.
    • The Star League's punitive terms for the UPT are condemned as predatory and draconian. While punitive measures may be appropriate, the League is advised to adopt more reasonable conditions. However, the whole affair is ultimately beneath the concerns of the Republic as their armada prepares to join the Core offensive. FCO is welcomed to contribute.
    • FCO is chastised for voicing complaints about NUT's military reconnaissance. There are no legal or diplomatic provisions that would prohibit NUT from exploring nearby space. Either agree to terms of demarcation or remain silent in such matters.
    • NUT is likewise reminded to act in a manner befitting their imperial stature and to demarcate with FCO.
    • The same goes for LYR and NUT. Everyone act like a proper bloody civilization and draw your borders.
    • CEL and RHG agree to settle their borders as they currently stand and to a provisional nonaggression pact.
    • Human interests and the pursuit of a lawful galaxy being paramount, CEL partners with the League of Roses. CEL affirms their commitment to the defensive treaty with NUT and mobilizes their armada. Fleet Admiral Khatri is rumored to be "extremely put out" with the armada being diverted from the Same offensive.
    • SYN will withdraw their fleets immediately. CEL would normally condemn such naked opportunism, but decades of galactic history has obviated that the Syndrome as a "people" are genetically incapable of apprehending even the most basic tenants of civilization. There is now some debate among experts that the Syndrome are incapable of higher levels of abstraction and merely emulate human-like levels of cognition by always choosing the more immediately treacherous option presented to them.

    Actions
    • [Diplomacy] Stabilize S25 (13, Success!) - The dimwitted "Supermutant" sub-humans of the region are easily pacified with airdropped care packages of ready to eat rations and oil pastels. With their warlords vaporized by energy conversion weaponry, many former combatants turn to their Celenian occupiers and are recruited as marines.
    • [Diplomacy] Build CPC Base 1/3
    • [Military] Build CPC Base 2/3
    • [Military] Build CPC Base 3/3 - Surprising many, the Office of the Consul shelves the construction of the RCS Zenith, leaving the skeletal (though not powerless) cruiser adrift near Relor's deep space shipyards. Apart from routine maintenance, all facilities are instead engaged to complete a commission for the CPC at cost. Provided with millennia old blueprints, Celenian engineers recreate and modernize the order's lost flagship, the Matriarch. The new mobile HQ, the Requiem, is a passable replica of the Matriarch to the millimeter with an identical hull shape and deck plan, though the guts of the ship are authentically Celenian with most major components being interchangeable with those found in a Lancer-class cruiser. Unfortunately, the staggering scale of the Requiem prevent the Celenians from turning the ship into a fully battle ready and GLD capable platform within two years. Given more time, CEL suggest they would be willing to outfit the Requiem with modern weaponry, like EC Lances.
    • [Military, Provisional] CEL intercepts the SYN fleet attacking T24 with 9 Units under the command of Admiral Khatri (10 Mil, Space Superiority TD, +1, -1 Combat Losses from Capital Ship Hulls). Contrite, the Consul contacts the CPC and informs them that the Requiem may not be completed as scheduled and that CEL will be unable to participate in the upcoming offensive because their galactic neighbors are just the worse.

Spoiler: The New Order of Things
    Show

    The New Order;
Marius took to the bridge of the New Dawn to deliver his first public address following the Civil War. He looked exhausted, as if the events three months past still weighed heavy on his mind. He stood tall, and addressed the people of the Dawnstar Dominion.

"To all inhabitants of this 'Dominion I say, with great relief, that the Houses are no more; that the Advisory Council is no more; and that the Scouring of Eriador has been, to the extent of my power, avenged. We shall not forget that terrible day, not for a thousand years, for the near-eradication of a society of intelligent beings is not an event that ought occur often. It should not occur at all, and not under any circumstances ought it be perpetrated by 'Dominion personnel, and Starfleet Officers at that. Change was necessary, of that there is no doubt. And change we have.

Today, this dominion encompasses four sectors of our glorious galaxy. Those sectors are equals in my eyes, and should have equal standing within our government. For this reason, the 'Dominion is no longer administrated from the Iron Halls. They are a relic of the past too long clung to. Instead, the 'Dominion shall be governed from this ship: The New Dawn. From these decks shall the 'Dominion grow to thrive and prosper, as we tour the sectors ensuring all are equally respected. No more shall Talvox claim mastery of the 'Dominion's fate; we all share in the glory of our new order.

Today, this dominion encompasses a multitude of races of intelligent life. These races are equals in my eyes, and should have equal standing within our government. For this reason, the 'Dominion is no longer to be led solely by the Dasari. Starfleet Academy shall be open to all 'Dominion inhabitants, and the Assembly of Squadron Leaders, our new governing body, shall have no discrimination on the basis of race. All are welcome within the 'Dominion, and within Starfleet. Actions & words matter above all; birth is a lottery over which infants have no control. Furthermore, all those called 'Slave' by their Overseers are hereby freed from servitude. Wherever you hail from within the 'Dominion, and whoever you may be; none shall be placed below their equals without just cause, and those born into bondage have no just cause behind their shackles. Every inhabitant of this 'Dominion is equal before my eyes, and in the view of the Way. Thus I say to all enslaved within this dominion: you are free.

The 'Dominion will no longer be presided over by the Master of the Order of the Dawn. The Advisory Council has ceased to exist. Henceforth, this dominion shall be ruled by myself, as the Custodian of the Dawn. By my actions & words I have proven a devotion to this 'Dominion unsurpassed by any, and will lead us all to glory until my death. The Commanders of each sector will aid me in administrating the 'Dominion, and the Assembly of Squadron Leaders will form the governing arm of a reformed Home Fleet. Starfleet will persist, in the form of those Squadrons equipped for inter-sector engagements. These few will only grow in number as the 'Dominion embraces more systems with open arms; we come in peace, to safeguard and serve.

The coming months will see this new order put in place throughout the 'Dominion. Be not dismayed at the Scouring, nor the War. Think of the future. Lift your hearts and minds towards the New Dawn ahead. In unity, we find only strength.

    'Scour the Bridge'.
Mindful of the threat of effective command, 'Dominion strike squads lead daring strafing runs targeting the bridge of the opposing flagship, in a bid to cripple their command structure (chance of leader loss for enemies increased by 4)

    Spoiler: Active Units
    Show

Master's Force; The personal guard force of the standing Master. Remains within home territory 'cept in times of war, where they join the Master's grand fleet. Part of the Dawnguard wing, and commanded by Jack Ackar Silver, former Officer of the Dawnguard.

Stalwart Shield; Refitted with the last major reserves of metal available to the fledgling Aurelian Order, the 'Shield is one of the Wardens' heavier squadrons, comprised of bulky, ponderously slow heavy cruisers. Using tractor beams to remain anchored in formation during battle, these armoured beasts are formidable weapons platforms. Heavily damaged in the attack on Hallion, the Shield were rapidly repaired by the Aurelian Order and sent back into the field as a bulwark. Commanded by Dravus Jorian Lotheric, aging Officer of the Wardens. (NEEDS TRANSFER)

Redskull Squadron; Where Ravager Squadron fought for the 'Dominion forces during the Dreider wars, and thus emerged a heroic and vaunted unit, the Redskulls were the Dreider forces' most effective strike unit, often operating alone from forward bases to conduct lightning assaults on key command positions behind 'Dominion lines. The unit was composed of the most veteran pilots fighting for the Dreider, and were integral to the Dreider ability to continue to prosecute the wars. In one of the last actions of the Third Dreider War, their commanding officer of the time, Farus Velkor Ghorakka, could see the tide of the war had well and truly turned, and rather than obey orders to fight on until destroyed, he took the squadron and surrendered, refusing to fight against his former brethren. The 'Dominion airforce chose to incorporate the Redskulls into their ranks, on the condition they were never deployed against Dreider dissidents. Newly equipped with GLD, the squadron is composed of hardened veterans, and fights loosely in wings of three, each pilot trusting his companions beyond doubt, and is the most innovative fighter squadron in the Felhounds, in stark contrast to the tight, squadron wide formations once employed by Ravager Squadron, and most other squadrons within the Felhounds. Commanded by Bren Velkor Ghor, second son of House Velkor.

1st Brigade, PsiCorps; PsiCorps is the newest wing within Starfleet, composed of Mindbreaker Eris from Eriador in U7. Eschewing starships, the Eris of the squadron possess forms largely biological in nature, living bio-craft fed and powered by energy extracted from ley line nexus on Eriador. These Eris have been trained for decades for combat, possessing frightening psionic power. Commanded by Gladien Xareia Bladed-One, founder of House Xareia.

Blackheart Brigade; The Dreadfleet has never needed to operate outside 'Dominion subspace - until now. The successes in the Great Crusade have driven Marius to authorise the GLD-conversion of the Blackheart Brigade, the 'Dominion's secondary terror unit. Deployed to suppress dissidents and unrest, and used to house prisoners of all types, Blackheart follows primary invasion forces to ensure loyalty or displacement of the native, occupied population. Commanded by Xixis Malus Ilhith, first son of House Malus. (NEEDS TRANSFER)

Furion Squadron; Freed from the shadow cast by Ravager Squadron, Furion has emerged as the most aggressive unit in Starfleet. The lead squadron of the Felhounds, Furion is composed of young, hungry hotshots, and while this often leads to arguments and tensions between pilots, their individual skill is a force to be reckoned with. The kings of the simulators during academy training, Furion pilots are eager to join the Great Crusade, and test their skills in proper combat. Commanded by Gaius Marten Lodbrox, nephew of former Master Aurelius, Officer of the Felhounds.

    Spoiler: Inactive/Lost Units
    Show

Grey Bulwark; The first squadron of 'the Line' equipped with GLD, the 'Bulwark is one of the oldest continuously operational squadrons in Starfleet, known for their complex, interlocking defensive formations, and possessing the fastest cruisers among the Wardens' forces. Dispatched to aid the Rothuun traditionalist claimant during their leadership squabbles, in line with Marius' policy of conservative containment.

    Ravager Squadron
; The oldest and most decorated squadron in Starfleet, Ravager's Squadron Leaders were the most commonly elected to the position of Officer & Master. Such storied names as Aurelius, first Master of the Interstellar Era, back to Axton himself, led the Ravagers to glory on the battlefield. Lost with all hands on the Great Foray, the Ravagers banners remain on display in the Academy, a relic of the days the 'Dominion stood above all others.

Crimson Heart; Marius' personal flotilla of light cruisers, the only vessels to return from the Great Foray, credited with establishing the roots of vassalage within the neighbouring system of the pencilpushers. Lost in transit to defend their valiant allies in the SPR, the fate of the Crimson Heart remains unknown.

First Flight; The first squadron into space, First Flight scoured the stars in the days before the GLD was gifted to the 'Dominion, tirelessly mapping the Talvox system and surrounding sector, establishing peaceable relations with lesser races and remaining a beacon of hope that advanced life remained beyond our knowledge. Lost in battle against unknown foes during the Great Foray, First Flight remains a symbol of all exploration may gain for our great 'Dominion.

Shatter Squadron: The teeming mass of corvettes, crewed by the most inexperienced of Starfleet's recruits, is the breeding ground for competent non-nobility to rise to prominence. Unfortunately, this inexperience led Shatter to catastrophe as a routine navigation task delegated to a fresh-faced ensign went horribly awry, shooting the squadron into the heart of an exoplanet on their inaugural jump as part of the Great Foray.

The incompetent, corrupt Meritocracy left behind several unfinished projects, including the randomly discovered alien ship, which has been collecting dust in a hangar, with only the most necessary repairs carried out. But this national treasure will not be ignored by the Council! With much pomp, the ship is towed into the orbit of Bespéartha, so that every citizen can see the incredible glory and power of the National Front. A team of top xenoarchitects extrapolates the design of the ship's missing systems, and restoration begins in earnest. Soon, the ship is restored to its former capacities - mainly transmuting and transporting matter, suggesting that the ship was likely designed for civilian use. The mechanics who worked on the project lovingly polish the Mysterium, agreeing that it was the 'finest chunk of metal' they've ever seen. Finally, along with a supporting fleet, the ship is sent to Elabana to help manage the logistics of the quickly growing country.

Illuminated only by starlight, a large pale billboard was erected by a couple of workers in the front of a quiet scrapyard, joining thousands of its brethren that have already been deployed to the planet. Like all the others, it depicted a humanoid shaking appendages with a drone, then turning to smile at the viewers: "Bigger. Stronger. Safer. Petition your local government to join the Djinye National Front now!" As the speaker repeated his message in countless other languages, the words echoed endlessly in the piles of bent pipes and broken machines. One of the workers turned to the other, nodded, and they moved on...
    4. [Diplomacy]Increase reputation with CPC 0>1 2d6+4 (vs 10) 10
Although the Djinye were not as disturbed by the imminent Revolution as some other Maturated races, some preparations were still due. In particular, it could not hurt to befriend what was now the most powerful military organization in the galaxy (barring possibly the Star League Charter, but that was already taken care of). The charismatic King Zirkon makes a trip toward the nearest base in T8, assuring the Core Patrol Corps that the DNF "really has their back, king's word" and that it "absolutely will assist with the Same, if they appear within our operational range, no question there".

The Church of Iteus, Round Twelve
    Pontiff Malicha

    Spoiler
    Show
I feel all of them. All the children, frightened in the depths.

The product of Iteus' seed, sown so diligently through the ages. A Church of deception, a Church of conception.

    And I, only I, ascended.

A yellow cube opens the mind, the blue opens the others. The children will be saved. Their birthright will be secured.

Malicha, come to me. Look upon my glory, and hear my command.

The children go hungry, and shall feast on the fools.

    Actions
    1. [Philosophy] Under direct order from Altea, Potiff Malicha executes a plan to more thoroughly integrate nearby sectors into the Church's control. The first portion of the project is focused on the recently-indexed S17, the details of which are still unavailable to the public. What is known, however, is that the Church of Rust no longer holds any sway over the region. (Convert S17 to Iteusism; Roll: 16; SUCCESS)
    2. [Philosophy] Continuing the previous project, T14 is the next to be brought under Church influence, however there is far more transparency in this instance. Knowledge parasites are being peddled as a sacrament, spreading like wildfire through the population. It is inferable that this process also occurred in S17, but whatever reason the Church could have for hurting its market monopoly is still highly unclear. (Convert T14 to Iteusism; Roll: 14; SUCCESS)
    3. [Philosophy] In similar fashion as S17 and T14, sector U15 is brought firmly into the Church's fold. It is noted that all of these independent regions came before allied territory in need of conversion, such as the recently lost and adjacent T18, but nobody within the Church questions Altea's designs. Many, however, are incredibly nervous about the proliferation of the knowledge parasites and worry that some secrets meant to be kept hidden may surface independent of the Church's control... (Convert U15 to Iteusism; Roll: 15; SUCCESS)
    4. [Intrigue] [Int 5] Upon the Rothuun's request, the Church dedicates a significant portion of its resources to a precision strike against the Commandant to liberate Urthuun Aneb Two-gun. This move is surprisingly lacking in the Church's usual subtlety... (Rescue Aneb Two-Gun; Roll is weird because I applied a -2 to my roll when the Commandant should have had a +2 instead; effectively, if the Commandant's bonus is instead deducted from my roll, I rolled an 8; If the -2 is to be disregarded and the Commandant gets his bonus, I rolled a 10 instead; yes this is highly convoluted)
    5. [Intrigue] (Secret) ...so perhaps its main focus lies elsewhere?

Default Re: [Empire 5] IC Thread

    Wardens of World’s End
    Chief Deputy Warden Echo Umberto

    Actions:

[PHIL] (Philosophy 5): Organize KISS Assembly in N18 "The Source Table"
A grand circular table is carved and hammered into a usable shape from the wreckage of Antich Heaventreader's fighter ship. Commandeered from the Squall, now newly consecrated as Heaventreader in light of the Battle of Hearth, the singular wing of the ship was found floating through Warden space the day after all signs of life were confirmed gone. Scorched with energy damage from the battle itself the table was embossed with a black and orange laquer image of the Source upon its perimeter and a sword in its center piercing a Same drone with shadowy flames wreathing its blade. Starry nights fill the void around it, each one specially marked with an indicator for those who fell in the battle against the Same, and a single empty chair is left to signify the former Chief Deputy Warden's place if he ever returns from The Source. The only being allowed to sit in the chair is the Guardian Kazu from Droccen space, the lumbering metal giant unnervingly quiet and recalcitrant to interaction after the battle, and only repeating the final message his master had imparted on him: "No one's ever really gone."

[PHIL] Set KISS LC 10 Bonus to Increased Dice Size for Tactical Maneuvering
The Knights In Service to the Source were warriors of faith and fervor, their strange magical ways granted them an unpredictable edge on the battlefield, and those followers of Flame who crusaded against the Same were some of the most grizzled and experienced fighters in the galaxy. As prone to impassioned full frontal charges as they were subtle and strange machinations the Source-bound Acolytes possessed a varied and inscrutable edge in the field of war. Capable of dodging incoming fire without looking, expressing physical prowess far beyond whatever base species the follower would normally exhibit, and wielding an array of magical tools ranging from subtle mind manipulation to full-blown pyrokinesis and telekinesis made battling the Knights In Service to the Source a daunting challenge indeed. This was best exhibited by the newest member of the Masters of Flame who moved with the Core Patrol, Echo Umberto, a Wyvern of Celes who while lacking in proper martial training possessed a dizzying array of befuddling emotional manipulation, memory alteration, and empathic communication that made him capable of round-about communication with Celenian forces long enough to evade their Animal Control dispatched to the Soul of Man embassy.

[PHIL] Convert Isporly (P8) to KISS 16 Success!
Shocked by the death of Antich Heaventreader, Grand Lady Kaya of Dynastinarea appoints a Master of Flame a one Duke Conterlo recently empowered by the Source to head to Alysian space and cement the bonds between the Assembly of Alysia and the Wardens of World's End. Peacefully but shrewdly ruling over her homeworld with Eladia by her side the Grand Lady still judges the Masters of the Source with a level of suspicion but even her cold and calculating Wizzetrix heart melts at the news of her associates untimely yet heroic death. A small garden is erected on the desert world and the fruits of it are given as a gift to the Wardens in their time of distress and included with Duke Conterlo as he goes to his ostensible distant relatives in the far northern reaches beyond Knights Vacio space. A few Sparks are recruited along the way, many scrappy Paguis given impromptu swords along the way, and Duke Conterlo's trip is temporarily postponed by a week long shenanigan involving several Twisted Wands, a runaway cart, bandits, and a less than reputable Isporlian merchant navigating the labyrinthian tunnels of Isporly.

[PHIL] Convert P10 to KISS 10 Failure!
Fire Lord Vix-Tal, bereaved by the death of a man he only ever referred to as "Boy" or "That Whelp" and "Heygetoutofmyroomyoutinyf*ckingtwink" leaves to go on a Galactic Bender throughout the stars and lands in Alysian space in a realm where Cannabliss is abundant. Fully guided by his emotions he weeps, sings, dances, fights, and carouses with the locals alongside the other Eradicator Hopefuls from the Fiery Freedom of Cricalores where the Same were easily crushed and dashed to pieces in a spectacular fashion. His guilt and shame for not being able to defend his home rings true throughout his journey and he heaps as much pleasure as he does pain upon himself throughout the course of his journey (With the egging on cries of his Hopeful companions).

[INT] Raid CLS's TP 3 of Clone Knights in Hollow (R-12) 10 Success!
The Goda of Cricalores, Bongo Chyett was greatly inspired by the display of rowdy showmanship and raw martial skill on display from SPACE KING during the Galactic Expo and quickly travels to Knights Vacio space with a coterie of fellow Flame Hunters and sycophants in tow. She quickly throws her lot in with the various fighting pits and gladiatorial shows in Knights space, the Flame Hunters exhibiting their remarkable marksmanship and mercenary ethos in the process, and extolling the grand nearly outlandish stories of their time in Cricalores fighting and hiding from the Deathly Metal Threat. The Same. Winning many different forms of currency and material wealth the illustrious and provocative Goda decrees "I want one!" when watching a platoon of Clone Knights marching in a bristling muscularly sweaty fashion and quickly plans a heist to acquire some from Celestia Enterprises distribution routes. Pistols locked and loaded, jaw harps twanged, and the dawn at just the right light she rides with her Flame Hunters with Warden backed magical augurs to simulate one of her famous grav-train heists back in Cricalores.

    [INT] Secret Action 15
This isn't the action you're looking for.

    Non-Actions:
    Vassalize to the Rose League
Return 1 Unit of Eradicator Hopefuls to the Rose League
Spend 1 Favor with the CPC on Stabilizing Hearth (N18)
Help the Svaatyr as best the Wardens can.

    News and Rumors:
    - A wyvern from Celenian space is found outside the Warden Embassy created by the recently deceased Antich Heaventreader; The Soul of Man. It's intense screeching is impossible to decipher at first, but through mystic channels and controlled movements it conveys its cooperative and intelligent nature to the rapidly inspired and curious Celenian scientists observing. Wardens from Hearth are dispatched to promptly get to the bottom of this creatures true nature, outfitting it with an armored environmental suit retrofitted from Vilari technology, and a translator loosely based off of a "borrowed" Ninurtine prototype for their universal translator technology. The Fire Lord senses in the bat-like creature a powerful Spark and soon takes him underwing, ignoring the given name the Wyvern screeches of "AAAAIIIIEEEYAAAAAOOOOOOO", and instead dubbing him Echo Umberto. Echo Umberto serves loyally and shrewdly during the time of the fall of Hearth and in the coming time is nominated by the Fire Lord as Chief Deputy Warden. The vote is contentious amongst the other representatives but the Fire Lord's assent breaks the tie and the outsider is gifted with the hat and badge signifying his rank as representative of all the Wardens.

    - A vigil is held to commemorate those who fell and those who were grievously injured in the Battle of Hearth and the Fiery Freedom of Cricalores. Representatives closely associated with or positively regarded by the Wardens, which includes most every government in Axiom, are invited to Hearth for this memorial, and special precautions are taken in advance for it.

    - Morale tanked by the Pyrrhic "victory" against the Same two Master's of Flame, Jo-Go and Kamin begin to travel amongst the Core Patrol Corps numbers to stir passionate oration and engage in a series of bombastic shenanigans to alleviate the mood.

-Several Jotun sparks begin to exhibit strange behaviors. Spouting calculations and instructions not only for the maintenance of the grand tunnels they travel through but for something else. Something strange and never before seen. The nature of the device is hard to fully comprehend due to the disparate scattering of information amongst the Jotun sparks but it is on the surface level seemingly related.

    - Sensors are primed and readied for further Same attack as the Core Patrol focuses itself in this period of readjustment and reconstruction on ensuring that clear communication is maintained and caution is expressed in all manners. Masters of Shadow throughout Warden space perform several rituals and ceremonies in keeping with the ebb and flow of the Source to ensure that no foul play is afoot, no further incursions shall arrive, and no Same shall escape the Core without swift decisive RETRIBUTION. Reports are handed and checked in private, cracks in security sealed, and several veterans of the Battle of Hearth are interviewed and assessed afterwards.

    - Mysterious things happen in Warden space.

    - Core Patrol Corps trading cards are used as magical tools in and around Hearth.

Formally request support from the other members of the Star League, the reformed Dawnstar Dominion, the Dipanan Collected Nations, and any other powers with an interest in preventing the Galaxy from being cut apart and rearranged again, in whatever ways may be rendered.
Spoiler: List of Demands for the UPT
    Show

    • Transcendence Division Head Brezz Y'ett will be presented to account for their crimes at trial, as will any other officials and personnel involved in the perpetration of crimes against the sapients of Axiom, as determined by an independent investigation and the proceedings of the trial.
    • Command of the existing armed forces of the Unified Public Trust will be turned over to the Rothuun Galactic Holdings, to aid in Core containment, in recompense for reckless destruction, mass murder, and endangerment of the galaxy.
    • Administration and security in the region identified as D32, colloquially known as 'The Dreamscape', will be given to the Federated Churches of Origin's End, to ensure the safety and security of the region, the Federated Churches, and to aid in ensuring that future officials of the Unified Public Trust do not attempt such reckless destructive tendencies again.
    • The Unified Public Trust, in recompense for their theft of divine relics, are required to render to the Federated Churches of Origin's End a functioning instance of Caller technology within the next Ten Galactic Years.

Use Embassy to send 1 Unit to Dipanan Collected Nations (Sunbreams)
Support Svaatyr research into Otherways 'n stuff

    Spoiler: News and Rumours
    Show

    • The Federated Churches have been exploring the Black Spire for some time now, ever since finding a way into the vast depths of the strange structure. The advancements that are sure to come from this endeavour are sure to be incredible, but the true nature of the tower still eludes them.
    • DreamDivers and Sunbream - More to come.
    • Comments upon the Dominion - More to come.
    • Star League insights - More to come
    • Words of Reverence - More to come
    • With a newly exposed border with the Unified Public Trust, and the clear potential value of such a passage in terms of economic, theological, and scientific opportunities, the Federated Churches puts forward a clear statement of intent. The Unified Public Trust's previous, current, and likely future behavior constitutes a grave breach of the principles of the Star League Charter, the ideals of the Federated Churches, and common decorum, as well as a threat to the safety of the galaxy at large. The Federated Churches of Origin's End presents a list of demands to the government of the UPT. If these demands are not met, the Federated Churches will be required by standing legal and moral obligations to use military force.
    • The rampant military expansionism - or perhaps more honestly, the direction of rampant military expansionism - exhibited by the Ninurtine Empire, concerns some Speakers in the FCO. If territorial concerns and buffer space were the Ninurtines' aim, Could they at least not make such blatantly imperialistic maneuvers along the border of the Federated Churches? As members of the Star League Charter, the Churches have sworn to uphold the rights of lesser powers and even unMaturated species and civilizations to self-governance - as such, until further negotiations can be made on the subject, any attempts to use direct military force in the conquest of native peoples in stellar regions neighboring the Federated Churches' borders will force intervention on the behalf of the natives. Emperor Durgoradesh is notified, politely, of these facts, and likewise politely asked if they would be amenable to discussion of recognition of territorial protections and recognitions in the space between the two stellar powers' borders and the Galactic Rim.
    • The Celenians' input on matters concerning the Federated Churches and the Ninurtine Empire is appreciated but unnecessary. The Churches would vastly prefer a diplomatic solution to the concerns they voice, and intend to seek one with the Ninurtines if at all possible.

Military: Hire a unit: Core patrol hopefuls-Not everyone is awesome enough to be in core patrol, far from it. However the path to badassery has many forks, not long after the fall of Hearth Knight Marianne opens an academy outside of the core patrol base. Here Core patrol hopefuls learn the basics of martial arts, firearms training, and basic space horse riding.

Diplomacy Brain station P14 (4/5) The fall of Hearth has sent shock waves across knight space. Tales of the sames devastation has spread among the millions of refugees that have fled to the region. Another race of genetically altered humans being forced from home resonant with even the most ardent of xenophobes within the community. SPACE KING uses his fabulous wealth in order to commission the building of a new citadel on top of the already existing brain station in region P14. In the meantime, Hearth refugees are settled in the Tamia, Equnius, and Pirati citadels.

Diplomacy Brain station P14 (5/5) The completion of project Brain station heralds the beginning o,f a new type of citadel. One not predicated on the exploitation of a native society, but founded on researching the mysterious brain that lies in the sectors core. The citadel is equipped with the standard luxuries the Knights Vacio equip to every citadel. Servants, TV from across Axiom, free foods, fast 40 G internet, free healthcare, and exercise classes galore, after a few months the Hearthites soon begin to assimilate to new home.

    News and Rumors
    • In the wider realm of Knight Space subject peoples are far more receptive of to the path of Shadow and Flame than their Knight overlords. The Pagui specifically find the powers of the source to be incredibly easy to blend with their traditional beliefs.
    • Prince Hotokie arrives back from Vilari boarding school. Good news, hes got some good old fashion book learning under his belt. Bad news he's a NEERRDDDD, always pestering SPACE KING about how cool star league is. There is literally a same AI mounted on the wall and its all current events this, star league that.
    • SPACE KING and Hotokie engage in some father son SPACE HUMANITARIANISM during the construction of project Brain station. SPACE KING puts on elaborate shows of fitness and martial skill to entertain the masses while Hotokie puts those vlogging skills to good use, making an especially popular series about Citadel life hacks.
    • Rumor has it that Knight Louis has been journeying across the regions adjacent to the core in order to find ideas for special edition Core Patrol Trading cards. The most recent release, the ultra rare black border memorial Antich card attracted crowds in the hundreds of thousands. Even Space prince Hotokie was spotted camping out with some friends ahead of the premiere date.

1 [PHILOSOPHY 10] Sacrifice 6 Spiral Dancer LCs to Efficiency claiming a directing interest in the Revolution and convert E31 Spiral Dancer Assembly to Nine Lights

The galaxy was a flat circle. Three dimensional hexagonal sectors marked it into chunks the Callers had demarcated long long ago. The Callers had possessed such power as to imbue the artificial minds they created to serve their will with the means to warp and reorder the stars themselves along these mystical lines. Now the Symbraum would do the same. The Svaatyr had spoken with Efficiency Ground and learned of the AI called Efficiency that folded, cut, and rearranged the galaxy to its whims. The Theocracy had discovered Efficiency intended to spin Axiom again and was merely waiting to gather the energy to execute its stellar jumbling. Energy, matter, space, and time; all malleable exchangeable variables to those with the knowledge to manipulate them in the great tapestry of reality’s primal forces. From their time under the guidance of the Spiral Dancers of the Kamasati followed now with their Svaatyr partnership following the guiding principles of the Nine Lights knowledge had always been the most valued currency of the Symbraum. Now knowledge would allow the Symbraum to refold and reshape the arrangement of the stars themselves to better suit their ends while the fools who fell in behind deceitful “shepherds” from Star League, Core Patrol, and the League of Roses seeking to corral and control the status quo to maintain their dominance would be left scrambling once more in the wake of the Second Revolution!

2 [PHILOSOPHY] Convert Norduin Starfield (U21) from Church of Rust to the Nine Lights

Brez Y’ett himself departs through the wormhole citing the exploration of space-time elasticity to be a matter worthy of his personal attendance, not to mention his political machinations at hand. The wizened Symbraum mind, sharpened by what pieces of time knowledge he could from the teachings of Zrvesiiv-Zel Voolr, The Light of Eternity, shows no hesitation in setting course for the other side of the Wormhole. Of course, the other side of the wormhole was filled with Rass who had just attempted to declare war on UPT governance. Seeking sanctuary beyond Federated Church space within the Ninurtine Empire Brez ventured to the Norduin Starfield. Here 'the eight' as the local species were called are introduced to the Nine with Brez and his most devout followers offering fonts of mystical aid. The stations were obvious targets of conversion to gain local political power and influence in the region but Brez gets his start in the region among the rockworlders. Ignored by the ministries of the Onliest Hats and preferences of the Church of Rust given the station dwellers propensity for creation and the rockworlder’s penchant for consuming they were left un-ministered to. The Nine Lights offered guiding values to the rockworlders consumerist lives and Brez‘s charisma imbues these guidelines with a visceral appeal.

3 [DIPLOMACY] Cede regions (D30, D32, E27, E29) to NUT losing GP status & pledge vassalage to NUT for the duration of the Ninurtine Imperial Trial of UPT

After his tour through the Norduin Starfield concludes the Transcendence Head Brez Y’ett surrenders himself to the imperial authority of the Ninurtines. The Federated Churches’ demands were self aggrandizing, self serving, and delivered through what should have been an avenue for peaceful and fruitful exchange of ideas and culture. In spite of their warmongering under the banner of Star League, claiming some self derived right to avenge followers of the One to whom the Church of Rust owed no allegiance prior to their destruction, UPT feels it is appropriate the matters of its mob-ruled indictment of guilt is worth being examined on a galactic stage but not one so biased as the Federated Churches or their cronny allies in Star League. UPT will seek justice from the Ninurtine imperial court, surrendering control of the wormhole and nearby staging hours to ensure UPT compliance with legal order. While the Ninurtine laws were not UPT’s laws nor Star League’s laws they were a strict mandate that organized a respectable and lawful galactic power. Confident in the Ninurtine Empire’s willingness to back up their legitimacy as a civilization capable of resolving lawfully the matters now submitted to them by Brez’s surrender UPT expresses a desire that FCO will agree not to pursue war against UPT or the Ninurtines and to acquiesce to a lawful settlement of the claims being made against UPT’s government made by a neutral third party.

    4 [DIPLOMACY] Claim F26 (2/2)

From out of the shadows UPT’s claim on the nearby sector F26 is revealed to the public when final agreements are drawn up and signed between UPT and the local leadership. Accusations of manipulation or infiltration were sure to follow as was common by UPT’s many jealous galactic competitors but these cries of foul play would do nothing to halt the peaceful incorporation of the region into Symbraum hegemony.

5 [MILITARY] Defend the Xaldarian Expanse (E31) from FCO aggression with 4 Units under Homeworld Security Commission Head Lanj P'tiv (1)

While it was hoped the Ninurtines as chosen legal defender of UPT's sovereign rights would be able to press their fleet on the neck of Rass until the salvagers pulled back it paid to be prepared in case the Federated Churches broke the line and tried to capture the capital. The FCO had decried the entire existence of the Symbraum by condemning the existence of UPT and their attacks intended to punish and stunt the growth of a race of star travelers they found intimidating were threats against the continued growth experienced by the Symbraum species over the past six hundred years. From a prey species beneath the sea of Xaldar to benders of spacetime unparalleled by all but the gods themselves in the span of six centuries. The FCO could not be allowed to crush what had been and was being built by the Symbraum's expansion into the stars and realms beyond.

    6 [INTRIGUE]

Not all that occurs within UPT is known to those who seek to listen in.

    [GENERALS]

    [RUMORS]
    • That the FCO were to be the vehicle by which vengeance for a defunct organization of space nuns was to be carried out when the Rass had never shown the slightest interest in the monastic order prior to declaring war on UPT for a decade old attack against an SoS monastery is considered an absurdity. Star League's self appointment as judge, jury, and executioner of galactic righteousness is called into question sharply by UPT's attempt at submission to the Ninurtines. Would Star League reveal its mad dog imperialist nature hidden just beneath the surface and declare war on the Ninurtines for "harboring a terrorist" or would they be willing to concede to a judgment rendered by a neutral third party? While arguments were expected to be made against Ninurtine judgment due simply to the Symbraum's choice of them, nevermind Star League had never even considered the choice of independent prosecutor prior to UPT demand for one, it was hoped that Star League's supposed reputation as a lawful and good natured organization intended to promote peaceful resolution over war would not prove to be as thin a lie as FCO's declaration made it seem to be and they would acquiesce to some form of independent judge incorporating the Ninurtines who were required to be invlved in order to halt the greedy warmongering Rass.
    • For those with wisdom to embrace change over stasis UPT offers the rights to petition Transcendence Division for suggestions for galactic rearrangement. It is unknown how much control the Symbraum may yet exert on the Second Revolution but it would surely be more than that exerted by any Maturated in the First. Those willing to rise to their right as successors to the Callers are invited to join in this journey of cosmic manipulation.
    • The FCO believes the government embodied by UPT is corrupt and demands names of those responsible for the actions taken against the secret-hoarders of the Core but fails to realize UPT was a collective identity shared by the Symbraum throughout their region of dominated space. While representatives were politicians in a sense and its directives policy in another the immediacy and intimacy of mind linking by the Symbraum made separating individuals from their political representation difficult to say the least. From UPT perspective FCO appears to be declaring an intent to purge Symbraum and if not genocide then to severely impede their development through the foisting of utterly alien ethical codes upon the highly successful Symbraum not out of some real moral duty but out of fear of what they did not understand. UPT remains hopeful the Ninurtine Emperor and his court will prove capable of navigating the arbitration of UPT's so-called "guilt" for taking action against a now-defunct order of crusty Grays a decade ago.
    • With the psychic plague afflicting the Kamasati many within former pantheon territory are relieved by the ascension promised to the remaining Spiral Dancers by Brez's ministers. That ascension involved contact with one of the ancient Caller demons shackled to the mortal coil and capable of great disruption concerns a few but most are too relieved at having direction to question it. Minds across former Kamasati space and Symbraum space reach out and touch the psionic signal identified to them as Effeciency and then, in a flash, their mortal coils are empties of psionic energy. Over one million Spiral Dancers have their minds suddenly flare bright throughout the psychic web and then go dark like a flame took to the webbing where once they were connected. Their minds are far from wasted however as the already powerful chronomancer Brez grows exceptionally more potent in his psionic potentiality.

    The Dipanan Collected Nations

    Actions

    1. [Diplomacy ] Finish pressing claim on K27 The details of the agreement between the Dipanan Collected Nations, the ex-CmC mercenaries, and the Sunbream Confederacy (who insisted on becoming a signatory at the last minute) have been concluded, and the respective powers begin the lengthy process of ratifying and implementing them.
    2. [Diplomacy] Raise reputation with the CmC, Roll 15 though Collector Butrana’s term had thus far been plagued by military necessities and negotiations with unscrupulous mercenaries, the Collector was determined not to have her tenure in office remembered only as a time of harsh necessity and corrupt backroom deals. To this end, she makes several overtures with the Cosmic Couriers, hoping to secure better rates for Dipanan shipping.
    3. [Military] Recon Region M17 using 7 Units, Admiral Nirali Butrana, and Capital Ship Hulls. Roll 22.
    4. [Military] Raise a Unit If the Sunbreams are to be a sovereign power, they maintain that they require a miliatry of their own. The issue comes to a head when the Collected Nations threaten to cut off mercenary contracts if the Confederacy creates its own independent military, but they ultimately balk when it appears the sunbreams are unwilling to back down, instead merely issuing a memorandum hoping for continued peaceful relations with the Sunbream Confederacy.
    Spoiler: Unit Details
    Show
20 Sunbreams, armed with military surplus railguns and missile launchers purchased from the Republic of Celes.

    News and Rumors

Admiral Nirali Butrana is very glad to finally be seeing active duty service, even only as a scouting mission. So far, the position of Admiral had been exclusively paper pushing, and she missed out on the military’s only real action for her promotion during the Kryptid war.

A motion to ban the Dreamdivers church of the FCO from Dipanan space over concerns that they are contributing to sunbream discontent is only narrowly defeated in the collected council after the representative from Shelohu reminds the council of the churches’ membership in the Star League.

Collector Siri Butrana struggles to maintain a coherent leadership of the council, which is increasingly divided over the questions of Sunbream autonomy. The conflicts even reach into the military, where many a junior officer loudly states their opinion that any sunbreams who have made statements against the DCN should be stripped of their weapons and placed in the front of the formation for fighting the same. Admiral Butrana begrudgingly reminds her officers that cooperation with the submarines remains an unfortunate necessity for their battles against the same, but personally wishes the council had shown more foresight and coughed up the necessary funding for less problematic auxiliaries.

Curiosity as to what the human who visited the Vilari homeworld found continues unabated among the humans of Shelohu colony.

    Sunbream Confederacy N&R
The FCO ship Breathless Wake gives a series of seminars above the spacific demonstrating the existence of spirits, disembodied intelligences inhabiting large concentrations of bodiless organs, such as the Dipanans’ organ farms. According to wake, these spirits are very real, and the “nations” the Dipanans are always alluding to, as well as the “churches” the undead FCO ships obey are two different varieties of them.

The dipanans are apparently divided as to whether the sunbream confederacy should be free or whether their only opportunity in the galaxy should be becoming slave-soldiers for Dipanan overlords. Nugrul uum Aysun urges that Sunbreams both within and outside of the confederacy continue to stand up for their sovereignty while they are still free to do so.

The Galaxy seems on the brink of war over the fate of a single UPT organ parasite, and even more ridiculous, there are talks of a multinational inspection of this supposedly defective organ. Surely a bad organ is a medical defect that does not require half the galaxy to come together to treat.

    The Undying Empire
Her Excellency, Jeniza Razahk, Regent of Amanyk and High Protector

    Actions:
    Rolls.
1: [Intrigue] Investigate as to the current location of the Library of Truth.
The Library of Truth, a priceless relic and rightful treasure of Amanyk, is, as far as the Imperial Inquisition knows, in the hands of the Eradicators. This is, however, equivalent to saying it's at the bottom of the sea. Searching the entire ocean or, more accurately, the entire galaxy would be futile and so agents are dispatched to track down leads as to where the Eradicators keep their stolen loot.

2: [Intrigue] Uncover a Caller Fragment.
Though many clamour for the recovery of the Library of Peace from the treacherous thieves of Celestial Enterprises, the time is not quite right for such an attempt. Instead, the records stored within the many archives of Amanyk are scoured to ascertain the locations of lost treasure hoards known to exist throughout the galaxy.

    3: [Military] Raise one unit.
The hypocrisy of the Kronin who pursue conquest against those weaker than them despite their denunciation of Amanyk's righteous defence and retributive strike against the treacherous Brewers of Antillon spurs further military investment on the part of the Undying Empire. After considerable effort the recovered wrecks of the battlecruisers lost to their duplicity are restored to functionality.

    4: [Military] Raise one unit.
The dark magics of the Void Disciples are utilised in a grand ritual and a fleet of dark vessels is called forth from the darkness to aid the Undying Empire. It is fitting that the warlocks have crewed these ships with immortal spirits from the depths of the cosmos.

    5: [Military] Raise one unit.
These contrast considerably with the brilliant white of the *Cadmium plated ships of Cadmos that have doubled in number since imperial investment has driven a considerable expansion in Cadmosan industry.

    6: [Military] Raise one unit.
The military power of Amanyk nears its theoretical limit as small squadrons of ships deployed by the Kzatan and the Rakanak are inducted into the Imperial Navy. Never again would opportunistic vultures and cowards threaten Amanyk for this was the time of the Undying Empire.

    2. [Economy] Iskanemchetna: A Korima Story (2/2)
Korima is one of the most famous names in Axiom. An intergalactic superstar, a hostage, a galaxy-tripper, and one of the "most powerful" governing figures in the Commonwealth, her story (available now on parchment, VL, and direct-to-memory) sells unprecedented billions of copies, with some sources claiming over a trillion sales. All that money will surely be put to good use....

Gain +1 to one Buyout roll/round for the duration of Korima’s tenure as Governor of CWZ.

    3. [Intrigue] Raid J24 Solar Sapphires TP 1 (owned by the CmC): 10
With news of another Revolution impending, and the possibility that they may not be untouched as they were last time, the Families begin a scramble to seize what they can before the stars change. Vatelst spies move into Vilari space to seize Courier assets nearby. Korima's influence is suspected, as no one is sure what the Department of Complex Housing would use solar sapphires for.

    4. [Intrigue] Steal Universal Translators tech from the Ndoda: 13
Iskanem agents focus on more high-value items - universal translators. Simultaneously, a new, wildly successful thriller recording the adventures of a group of ragtag agents fighting an underground war in Ndoda space appears across the electromagnetic spectrum: War in the Stars, touted as the first-ever VL to include gamma radiation. A bit of historical research quickly disproves this claim, but it is uncontestedly the first to do so intentionally.

The below happens between Galactic Dates 217522.0.0.81 - 2175024.0.0.80
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
    Good luck!
    Rules Alerts and Changes!
    • Clarified who rolls Tactical Doctrines (note: It’s not players)
    • Organizations have a limit on the number of Friends, Allies, and Rank 4 members they can have (Rank 4 reputations have individual titles befitting the singular status). This limit is being reviewed by the GM Team for the larger player base size that we have, but Rank 4 will remain “only one” per Organization. Rank 2 (Friends) and Rank 3 (Allies) may increase in size, but the specific size increase is not yet determined. At the very least, the rules will have increased clarity for what to do if you want to oust someone who is at a higher rank than you! (Currently, you pick a target, and a roll off occurs!)

News of the effective annihilation of the Kamasati by some manner of plague is a grim specter when the Emperor goes to next visit the Raja and crush a cup together, and bringing news of the Same coreward - and especially the pyrrhic victory at Hearth - proves too sobering even for the strongest of the Raja's drinks. The two men soon shake hands in agreement that they and their kingdoms should henceforth be friends, and the Raj joins as a member of the League of Roses, committing to outfit a fleet of their own in solidarity with the Gelean Armada. (GLR successfully presses a claim on N4, 2/2 and gains 1 Unit of Platinum Ogres!)

(NDA successfully presses a claim on D20, 1/2.)

(DNF successfully presses a claim on Z2, 1/2.)

(FCO successfully presses a claim on W19, 1/2.)

After a chance encounter at the Galactic Expo, an informal agreement was made and a group of agents soon found themselves stationed on Kwizik to assist the Ndoda in establishing a Secretariat of their own. Though not especially renowned for it as the Symbraum, Kamasati, or even the Geleans themselves are, the Ndoda are a nascent psychic race and their abilities are well-suited to the techniques pioneered by the Gelean Secretariat: Emotional senses, telepathy, and more esoteric capabilities can be trained to razor focus and used to root out agitators, infiltrators, and other threats to the peace. (GLR shares CI Empath Agents (2d8 on Stabilization) with NDA!)

(RTH shares CI Requires Verification (2d8 on Resist Convert) with DCC!)

(UPT surrenders regions D30, D32, E27 and E29 and pledges vassalage to NUT losing their Galactic Power status! UPT has 4 rounds to re-establish their Galactic Power before it is permanently lost!)

(CEL completes a CPC base in Jotunheim (P24) gaining 1 Favor and 1 Rep going from Rep 1 to 2!)

(VSL completes a CPC base in Tel-Yun Accord (K23) gaining 1 Favor and 1 Rep going from Rep 1 to 2!)

The Cosmic Couriers, while a vast organization, must still pick and choose who their closest allies are. The Harmony, for all their secular actions, still continue to remain staunch supporters of the Couriers. The Grymlan, erratic as they seem, are often the most generous and helpful to those they consider friends. Yet, newer allies seek to become closer to the Couriers… And the Cosmic Couriers can only have the elite of the elite be their Ally.
(EAA successfully raises their reputation with the Cosmic Couriers from 2 to 3.)
(DCN successfully raises their reputation with the Cosmic Couriers from 2 to 3.)
(Friendship Fight! Only (3) Allies of CmC can exist. HMY, OwO, EAA, and DCN must either vie to become the one and only Cosmic Prime Member (rank 4 with CmC) or discredit one of the other four. Raising Reputation is a Diplomacy roll, like normal, with a TN of 16, and the highest roll wins Rank 4; ties result in rolling again. Discrediting an existing CmC Ally is a non-action this round, and results in a Diplomacy roll-off between yourself and your chosen target. The loser of the roll-off cannot issue further discrediting challenges, will end up at Rank 2, if no one else rises up to Rank 4, and also cannot roll to become the Cosmic Prime Member themselves. Winning the roll-off will allow attempts to rise to Rank 4, with a +1 to the roll. Losing the discrediting roll in this manner may happen only once per round, but you can win more than once! As the existing Allies prior to this round, either HMY and OwO may make their selection of who to challenge first.)

(DNF successfully raises their reputation with the Core Patrol Corps from 0 to 1.)

(KRO successfully creates a claim on D12.)

(TFT successfully creates a claim on K31.)

(SYN completes The Paragon Project in S21 5/5! The regions grants its owner +1 on unit cap!)

(OwO completes BrightLight in N32 5/5! The regions grants its owner +1 to attacks in adjacent regions once per round!)

(KNV completes Brain Station In P14 5/5! The region grants its owner +1 to Investigations.)

KBC accepts the Mist Source's request, allowing the strange gestalt to more easily spread beyond it's previous planetary confinement; the process is slow, but it begins to spread and within a couple galactic years the solar system is covered in Mist... except for a very distinct orb of free space around the primary star. It seems the Mist Source has a limit for how much heat it can currently tolerate. Still, grateful to the Kombuch, not only does the Mist Source make some of it's Verdant Mist available for collection, the gestalt conscioussness is more receptive to acquiesing to their requests.
(KBC gains a claim on region H4 for as long as Consolidator Disco Webcap is in charge. H4's Resource changes from Blister Leaves [Great] to Verdant Mist [Minor].)

    (EAA successfully claims R6, 2/2.)

The Mysterium is now running and able to have it's functions and manufacturing accessed! Though the DNF scientistics label it as just a (very advanced) civilian vessel, the Djinye of the National Front still struggle to wake the sleeping AI that seems to have full access to the Mysterium's capabilities... suggesting that there is more that this ship can do!
(DNF finishes repairing the Manufacturing Ship, "Mysterium". This ship can have an existing owned TP Resource assigned to it for an Economy action to create any other Resource for the round. DNF tasks the still asleep AI to producing more Saline Alloys (+1 Buyouts for TPs in Z4). DNF can spend a combination of (2) Philosophy Actions or Intrigue Actions to try and bring the sleeping AI back online.)

    Ideology!

The Wormhole is a major discovery, and one that the Federated Church of Origin’s End decides to investigate further. Connections between the Wormhole and the Otherways Pathways that the civilization of Sanctum once touted as their primary science are made, and further connections are being made between that and the mysterious Beyond. Through careful inquiries made to the Revered Ones of FCO, additional details are discovered that bring more questions… Chief among them is what is the relationship between Damnos, the Most Wise, being incredibly lively for almost a whole hour of activity, followed by observations that the Wormhole seems to have permanently stabilized! With a stable link of such magnitude now inscribed upon the galaxy the Otherways appear stronger in their ability to connect vast distances.
(P10 used; FCO stabilizes the Wormhole, ensuring that regions V18 and D32 are forever linked! Additional avenues of Investigation are available to FCO, such as Otherways, Wormholes, and their relationship to each other and to the Beyond!)

Brez Y’ett of UPT was not just the leader of UPT but far more obviously of importance to the powerful psion was his role as a thought and spiritual leader among both the declining Spiral Dancer community as well as the swelling Nine Lights theological diaspora. That the fall of the Spiral Dancers and rise of the Nine Lights tracked Brez’s own movements was seen by critics as signs of his opportunism and fanatics as evidence of his divine guidance. Having looked upon the minds of many gods UPT leadership was now prepared to enact their own level of divine intervention upon the galaxy. Nine Lights had revealed secrets of the Revolution to the secret keepers of UPT and now Brez utilized his position as apparent savior to both ideologies to coax the desperate followers of the Pantheons into melding their psionic energies into one great big sacrifice to the Caller AI known as Efficiency. This ritual conducted by UPT under Brez is massive spanning solar systems and star sectors from the Gelean Republic to the very heart of Symbraum space itself. Millions of lives touch the psychic web laid out for them by Brez and millions cry out when the flaming appetite of Efficiency swallows their web in one fiery gulp. The majority survive the initial shock but are utterly stripped of their psionic abilities. Some, especially among the Kamasati, do not survive just this and many more survive little longer so dependent as they had become upon psionics. Symbraum likewise are considered blinded and crippled irreparably by this action. Still, most live but no longer able to touch the minds of others or manipulate the world with a thought. Some will surely go mad without it but most, it is hoped, will move on though with the stars themselves set to realign it may prove impossible to forget. (P10 used; UPT transforms the Spiral Dancer Organized Ideology into fuel for Efficiency and the next Revolution which is expected to occur at the end of Round 13! Spiral Dancer LCs become Open and Spiral Dancer disbands as an organized ideology. The Assembly in E31 becomes Nine Lights following its founder Brez Y’ett. UPT is able to execute influence over the next Revolution capable of “calling” placement for four Stellar Powers! “Calling” may only use a single descriptor such as “Western galaxy”, “Core adjacent”, or “Next to _Other Stellar Power_”. “Core regions” containing Same versions cannot be moved. )

    Terror!

(ANE Successfully Purges The One LC in C7! LC is now Open! C7 is in Unrest!)

The whims of SPACE KING cannot be denied and when he wants to kidnap clone knights because they look cool he does exactly that! Hatching a cunning plan to take one unit of Clone Knights he accidently takes over an entire trade post instead and soon clone knights are being shipped to WWE space. CLS is informed that SPACE KING in the name of the WARDENS has taken their Clone Knights trading post by force!
(WWE Raids CLS Hollow (R12) TP3 [Clone Knights])

Celestia Enterprises is working very diligently to create a secure and safe location for their most important galactic items. Already, there is discussion of charging admission to view said items, including - but not limited to - the Library of Peace. For good reason, CLS is paranoid about losing the Caller Fragment to thieves, and requests the help of their Liege in setting up a security network. Even with the help of the Syndrome, however, no one expected what records later show was multiple teams of people, from various stellar powers. In what will surely be denied by all parties, there is a rather comical dance of theft after recovery after theft after theft. When it all shakes out, though, the Library of Peace was stolen!
(The Library of Peace was stolen from CLS! The perpetrators are unknown! Two other teams are identified as having ties with ITS and maybe GLR? While ITS seemed to work independently, the GLR (?) team seemed to be aiding the thieves that managed to get away! The GLR (?) team also manages to escape, but there are a number of points of evidence that make people think the Geleans are involved… though none are confirmed!)

(ANE Successfully Raids I5 TP2 of Tiny Cats from the CMC)

Lacking in their usual subtlety, no one expected the Church of Iteus to just… walk up and take Aneb Two-Gun from his cell. The Commandant, busily listening to CEL refuse to help, and offering a few choice words in return, is far from his prisoner and the four Miracle Men that should have been watching Aneb are fascinated by some Knowledge Parasites that they somehow managed to obtain. As gifts. That they then used. Without suspecting ulterior motives. It was a terrible plan, and relied entirely on stupidity to succeed. The rumor is that CWZ and CLS both want to make a movie out of it. The Commandant, upon learning about it, goes into apoplectic shock, and no one knows if he recovers from the shame.
(ITS rescues Aneb Two-Gun for the RGH. Anyone who wishes may spend an Investigation action to find out the fate of the Commandant and his loyal Miracle Men, but it is unlikely that this Military 8 General will be available to fight for anyone. Possible, but unlikely.)

Efficiency Ground has been definitively located! K33 is home to a strange solar mass, that appears to be engineered rather than the result of any cosmic explosions or deific force of creation. Through the probe sent by the Etherites - with aid from the Star League - everyone quickly learns several things:
    • First, there are factions within Efficiency Ground that disagree - or at least don’t fully agree - with their Leader.
    • Second, their Leader is very likely a Caller AI like Guardian, and goes by the name Efficiency.
    • Third, the being known as Wrath is placing a call for aid! He’s managed to sequester a large amount of energy from the Beyond and can bring in a Coalition of Stellar Powers to help combat the faction within Efficiency Ground - the Followers - who want to continue to allow Efficiency to “have its fun”. A Revolution, Wrath warns, is imminent; the more Stellar Powers come to help combat the large force of Followers, the more likely a third such Revolution can be completely stopped. With enough Military might, and a successful battle, Wrath hopes to be able to cut Efficiency off from the Beyond, and place the majority of itself back into Axiom; there is a small tether of some arcane force that he is certain can be pulled upon to - like a cosmic tug of war rope - that can bring the Caller AI out into the open moments after the energy for a Revolution is expended. It might have been possible to do before a Revolution, but Wrath reports that the Followers and Efficiency received a large influx of energy from somewhere and are now ahead of schedule!
    • Fourth, through various rhymes, the Jester, Wrath’s comical counter part, mentions that the Neutral faction in Efficiency Ground could be swayed by diplomatic appeals and proof of the Maturated being wronged by the first Revolution; alternatively, if someone has a connection to another Caller AI that can actively communicate with Efficiency, the Leader of Efficiency Ground may be easier to deal with!
    • Fifth: Woe, the other Herald, explains more about Empathetic Chi; apparently it's an emotional energy, and is one of the primary ways that the race that lives within Efficiency Ground communicates. This emotional energy can be influenced by other sciences and faiths, if manipulated in the right manner...
    • Sixth, some Stellar Powers seem to have had some kind of forewarning and information that Wrath is frankly shocked that they didn’t share.

(There are 12 total units within Efficiency Ground! 2 Units of Free Thinkers listen to Wrath, 4 Units are part of the Neutral Faction, and 6 Units of Followers listen to the Caller AI, Efficiency (Military 12).
A Second Revolution comes soon! It cannot be stopped, but with enough help, a third can be prevented! Wrath, one of the previous Heralds of the last Revolution, has a way to transport anyone who spends a Military WAR Action to K33 during Round 13. Those whom have K33 within their Improbable Zone will only suffer (2) Distance Loss Rolls. Those whom have K33 within their Hard Zone will only suffer (1) Distance Loss Roll. Techs that reduce Distance Loss Rolls can apply. All other Zones of Influence in relation to K33 suffer (0) Distance Loss Rolls. Because of the rushed nature of this cooperated assault, Size and Coalition Losses will occur as normal.
Wrath will lead the battle, with his 9 Military Score and (2) Units of Free Thinkers! In addition to winning the combat, at least 10 Free Thinker ally Units must survive the battle for Efficiency to be cut off from the Beyond and stop the Revolution. If only 5 or more ally Units survive, Efficiency will be pulled from the Beyond, but still have a connection to it; a third Revolution will be possible, but will take time, and Efficiency may be spoken with during that time to perhaps convince it to stop completely. With less than 5 ally Units alive after the battle, even if the battle is won, Efficiency will retain full control of its connection to the Beyond, and alternative methods of stopping a third Revolution must be found…
This round, a Diplomacy or Intrigue action may be taken to try to convince the Neutral Faction to join on one side or another. For every action taken that successfully meets or exceeds a TN 14, a Neutral Faction unit will join the side designated by the rolling player. In the event that there are more than (4) rolls, the highest rolls win in the event of conflicting sides. Using Intrigue instead of Diplomacy must also show evidence of the previous Revolution causes some kind of harm to Axiom’s Maturated races.
Using a Philosophy action, with a maximum Zone of Influence penalty of -4, at a TN of 12, can manipulate the bonus to your chosen side's Tactical Maneuvering roll! Each successful roll adds +1 to the Tactical Maneuvering roll. The Followers Tactical Doctrine is Efficient Design which increases the total combat roll by 50% of the total number of Units (rounded down). The Free Thinkers Tactical Doctrine is Triple Checked Orders which reduces (1) Coalition Loss for every member of the Coalition.
Wrath, for all his planning, cannot tell which Maturated race is coming to help and which is coming to hinder his plans! A Military Action may be spent to join the conflict… but for the Followers! There may even be rewards, should the battle end with the Followers victory! Surely, this act of allegiance to the Caller AI will have no lasting consequences amongst your fellow Maturated...)

The CWZ scramble to get resources in order to be prepared for the next revolution and swarm a CmC trade post by force. The CmC are caught off guard and evacuate the Solar Sapphire mine abandoning it for use by the CWZ. They nevertheless express their disapproval of the Commonwealth’s brutish methods of resource acquisition and are footed the bill for Courier repairs related to their eviction from the Gardens. (CWZ Raids Gardens of Leira (J24) Solar Sapphires TP1 from CmC! CWZ loses 1 CmC Rep!)

(CWZ steals Universal Translator from NDA)

With the fleet the Dipanans had amassed to recon into sector M17 most within Core Patrol expected a routine mission. Sally forth, push the Same back from the fleet, scan the system in full, and return home. However that is not what appears to happen but rather the fleet departed in good order but approximately four months after departure only the Sunbream sub ships returned to the Umbral Augury in Hearth. The Sunbreams claim their compatriots, including Admiral Nirali Butrana, were lost in a Same attack just before they could slip away by GLD. The Sunbreams are hurried, quickly refueling and departing leading some Patrolmen to wonder what had spooked them so. Certainly v0.15 held a special place in any good Patrolman’s heart after their attack on Hearth but nothing had indicated it was dangerous enough to incapacitate an entire GLD fleet led by a battle tested and savvy Admiral.
Core Patrol dispatches a small flotilla who discover the majority of the Collected Nations fleet adrift but still crewed. Slugs pierce the engine and communication compartments but most of the Dipanans register as alive and once brought on board claim to have been betrayed by the Sunbreams en route home! While Core Patrol isn’t sure it has a place getting involved in disputes between Sunbream and Dipanan the lost ships were mostly salvageable and could help serve the fight against the Same if one were inclined to fix them for Core Patrol.
(DCN loses 4 Units on the return from Reconning M17! Any Stellar Power with CPC Rep 1+ may complete a 2-action Economy/Military project to restore the Dipanan fleet giving CPC 3 units at the end of the round and granting +2 Favors from the CPC!)

(EAA successfully invades O3. O3 is in Unrest.)

With many followers of the gods of Spiral Dancers being slain in a mysterious burst of light, the EAA finds there is even less resistance to their conquest of the region of O5 then they expected. However, the cowed populace is already unhappy about the - at the time - inexplicable deaths, and the added capitulation of their former government brought by the Eternal Assembly now taking control, the region is in serious discontent.
(EAA successfully invades O5. O5 is Unstable!)

The Svaatyr Theocracy had known about the Same group that patrolled their borders for quite some time and were certain that they could deal a devastating blow to the forces occupying this core region. When the SVA breach the core region the Same are immediately aware of the new presence in the region and the timing could not have been worse; a Same v0.08 fleet ready to attack had just finished development and was in the perfect location to intercept the SVA interlopers. By the time the SVA noticed the Same attack one fleet was doomed; rushed by Same drones eager to collect new materials to build more units. A retreat was ordered however the sheer force of the Same units overwhelmed another SVA fleet before they escaped to safety. With a quarter of their fleet destroyed the SVA had lost their first invasion of the Core.

The Kombuch knew that the locals would defend themselves when invaded what they did not know was the damage that could be done when ones weapon is powered by a black hole. The KBC arrived to the system and had boarded the first space station when the BlackHole Guard jumped into action. Recognising that the KBC had not come here for trade but for conquest the fleets were rallied and the commander was pulled away from his brooding spot. When the BKH hit the KBC the destruction nay the annihilation was immense and two of the KBC fleets went down in the warning volley. The KBC were given the choice retreat now and live or continue the fight and perish. Commander Engels knew that this was a fight they were ill prepared to fight for and accepted the offer of retreat heading back to their home star. What the BKH did not notice however was that the KBC fleets that got destroyed strange pollen had made its way into the ventilation systems of several stations. In the two years since the attack it appears some of the inhabitants of system H2 have become sympathetic towards the KBC and are petitioning their government to allow the KBC to govern their people. One doctor discovered that the strange pollen left behind in the battle has altered the minds of these people and is ready to publish these findings!
(KBC fails to invade H2! {CHOICE} KBC can attempt to assassinate the doctor with an intrigue action (TN14) and will gain a claim on the region however on a failed attempt the BKH will gain a unit and the tactical doctrine bonus will be forfeit. OR KBC can let the doctor publish its findings and use their tactical doctrine like normal. If the KBC attacks in round 13 and win the battle a 1 or lower on the leader loss roll for KBH means the Blackhole commander joins KBC instead of death!)

    Discovery!

Ninurtine investigators travel halfway across the galaxy to Kombuch space in the hopes of impressing the Cosmic Couriers with their seeking of the truth regarding the missing Relay. Unfortunately affairs back in Ninurtine space erupting out of the UPT situation leave the investigators underfunded and under supported in a very alien land. The Kombuch were pleasant hosts but their customs were strange, nearly impregnable to the Ninurtine sent to conduct the investigation, and their pursuits ultimately prove fruitless. There is one unintended side effect however when a shootout erupts between Ninurtine and unidentified assailants during the course of the investigation. The Ninurtines are expelled off planet by KBC authorities where they’re contacted by someone claiming to represent the Eradicators. This representative explains the Ninurtines had stumbled into a private Eradicator contracted crew looking into the Relay’s disappearance and while they had been no more successful than the Ninurtines they were impressed with the imperial’s skills in a firefight. Having both failed to find any solid leads the Eradicators offer a merger of their efforts which was now pending the Emperor’s approval to go-ahead or reject. Given the Eradicator attacks on Courier shipping the Couriers do not look kindly on this deal in spite of the competence it potentially brought to the table. (NUT attempts to investigate J4 but discovers no clear leads! {CHOICE} NUT may accept cooperation with ANE gaining one Favor with ANE and prompting ANE to investigate the Relay’s disappearance in Round 13 but NUT will lose 1 CmC Rep OR NUT can reject the ANE’s offer losing 1 ANE Rep and continue their own investigation which, if successful in Round 13, will grant 2 CmC Rep.)

The Undying Empire seeks out additional information on what happened to the Library of Truth. While they don’t find the exact location of the Fragment, they do discover that the Eradicators no longer have it and it wasn’t by their choice...
(CBS discovers that the Library of Truth is missing! Someone seems to have stolen it from ANE!)

Lyrae investigation teams look into the prospect of Anti-Luminary League (ALL) being within the capital of the Lyraen Stellar Domain. No evidence shows that ALL is within U23 at this time, but it does seem to indicate that their primary HQ is some kind of massive spaceship with barely enough GLD to move between stars. And it was in U23 during the time of the assassination. Many people continue to keep an eye out for ALL’s appearance, but with little external support, they seem quiet for now...
(LSD investigates ALL in the Lyrae Capital Sector of U23 and finds out that the HQ of ALL seems to be a massive spaceship that moves slowly between sectors!)

After 5 months of hard searching Etherite explorers find and a frigid oceanic world filled to the brim with rare metals. Upon closer inspection the primary reason the planet isn’t covered in ice is due to extremely high salt and ammonia concentrations in the water and atmosphere. The few inhabitants of this planet are from other sectors of Axiom and eek out a living filtering the metals they desire from the ocean. Despite the chaos of the incoming prospectors, the planet is actually a beacon of order in a chaotic cosmos. This is due to an elite group of mounties, rough rider who patrol the seas, politely helping those in need. (ETL expedition I31 which contains a [Great] resource of [Mounties], an Open LC, and 2 units of Prospectors! There is also a partially completed GP Cesium filter mine 2/5)

Ndoda explorers searching or new resources to exploit soon find a tidally locked world orbiting a blue giant. Occupying glitzy cities in the eternal oceans of the night side lies a civilization divided into two races. One, the Aene, are a tall gracile people who congregate in the floating cities and are masters of artifice. Beneath them lie the Mulocks, fish men whom style themselves masters of the battlefield. Several generations of warfare have led to great advances in communication technology to coordinate defensive maneuvers among the Aene cities. (NDA expedition E23 which contains a [Great] resource of [Broadcasting equipment], an Open LC, and 3 units of Mulocks! There is also a partially completed GP Aene communication satellite 3/5)

Kronin fleets bravely explore a core region inhabited by a Same AI labeled v0.16. As the Kronin ships navigate the barren sector they come across a frightening anomaly. Sodites, a group sentient bottles of soda, are fighting desperately to survive against an onslaught of 1 billion same drones. As their planets fall one by one to the mechanical menace the remaining Sodites gather at a terrestrial planet surrounded by what they call a “light barrier.” As more Sodite planets fizzle out, the remaining civilians become more desperate, bombarding the Kronin ships with calls for aid. In the midst of the panic, one brave group of Sodites mounts a last stand in order to ensure the safety of their brethren. (KRO expedition I13 which contains a [Minor] resource of [Resource category: Hard metal], an Open LC, and 1 unit of Sodites and 2 units of v0.16! There is also a partially completed GP Sodite Light Barrier 3/5)

Lyrean diplomats and scientists search into unknown space. Of the many worlds in the sector, one in particular has piqued Lyrean interests. A gas giant filled with floating cities, hosting a steampunk society. The city states of the planet fight each other mercilessly via fleets of airships. One method used to get the edge over their rivals via the use of Jax pills, power drugs that grant the user enhanced strength, speed, and endurance. (LSD surveys V30 which contains a [Good] resource of [jax pills], an openLC, and 1 units Hydes!)

Formican diplomats journey into previously unexplored core space. What they find is a sector dominated by the same known as v0.02. As the drones source the sectors solar systems in search of more worlds to deconstruct there is another race that follows them. Known as the Followers, these diminutive cyborgs follow the same drones using incredibly stealthy craft feeding on the various “leftovers” the same leave behind. (MFM surveys I15 which contains a [Minor] resource of [Resource category: electronics ], an open LC, and 2 units of v0.02!)

Vessels from the Dipanan collected nations boldly explored same space home to the AI known as v0.15. As the same drones scramble out of the way of the oncoming armada, the Dipanan collective find naught but desolation in v0.15’s wake. The sector seems nearly uniform in its vacancy until a scouting ship receives a signal from from what at first appears to be a black hole. Closer inspection reveals this not to be a black hole but an artificial event horizon used by the locals to avoid detection. Bad news is their planet is slowly dying as the event horizon is maintained by siphoning the energy of planets molten core. It soon becomes clear that the anomalous signal was in fact, a desperate plea for help. (DCN expedition M17 which contains a [Great] resource of [Resource category: Hard Metal], an Open LC, and 4 units of v0.15! There is also a partially completed GP Break the event horizon 3/5)

Diplomats are sent on a polite inquiry into sector X22, and find a bustling, decadent, planet of efficient bureaucracy. With so many observed methods of requests and filing systems, the Ninturines are surprised that they are shown quickly to the Supreme Leader who is seemingly pleased to discover that there are more worlds for him to rule over. He ever so politely gives the Ninturines time to contact their capital to see to what degree of vassalage the Empire will submit to: complete and total, or just paying for the privilege of calling themselves a vassal of the Supreme Leader. Not to make a fuss on a diplomatic voyage, the Ninturine ambassadors thank the Supreme Leader for his time, and leave. While deciding how to phrase the message of the “polite offer”, they are cautiously approached by a member of The Loophole; a rebellion against the Supreme Leader and all his bureaucracy. The Loophole’s leader, a woman who goes by Justice, states she has the military might to defeat the Supreme Leader, but needs additional funding. (NUT Inquests into X22 which contains a [Good] Resource of Undefined, 1 Unit of Bureaucratic Oathsworn, and 2 Units of The Loophole Rebels {CHOICE} NUT may spend a Diplomacy Action to become a vassal to X22, effectively claiming the region; a new ruler The Supreme Leader must be rolled immediately, and no previous bonuses apply to the Leader Rolls. All NUT regions go into Unrest. U23 goes into Unstable. X22 becomes the new NUT capital. OR NUT may spend an Economy action to provide funds for the Loophole, gaining a +2 to Establishing a Claim on the region. Spending an additional Military action to aid the Loophole in their fight against the Supreme Leader will instead provide NUT with a Claim on the region, should the Loophole be victorious. Loophole leader Justice must lead the battle.)

With aid from the Star League, the Etherites send a careful probe into what they suspect is the primary region of Efficiency Ground. They are, in fact, correct! They find a gigantic land mass that seems to be a large - mostly flat - square with a hole in the middle for the local star; almost like someone unfolded an already large planet - or several planets - into a perfect square. The land mass holds many metallic buildings, and all four corners seem to be the best defended areas, as they immediately launch a multitude of ships as soon as the probe is detected… which is only a few minutes after it’s arrival in the sector. The probe gathers appropriate information, but otherwise makes no aggressive motions, so though it is eventually surrounded by an armada, it is able to do it’s job. It broadcasts information about the Etherites, and updates Efficiency Ground on the state of the galaxy. In return, Efficiency Ground sends back the current state of things here… Which isn’t good. There’s factions within Efficiency Ground, it seems. The next Revolution is about to happen... (ETH probes K33, which contains a [Great] resource of Parasitic Alloys, 5 Units of Efficient Defenders, and is the location of Efficiency Ground! {CHOICE} See the Terror Section!)

The Knight Vacio take no risks exploring the region with alleged Same presence. Sending four units to explore the region reports come in of Same units swarming the sector and stripping planets of their natural resources. When preparing to return to KNV space the fleet notices one planet that remains untouched by the Same swarm. The reason as to why this planet remains untouched is unknown at this point but SPACE KING can use this advantage when attacking Same 0.04!
KNV Recons O13 [Precious Mineral, 3 Units, Same 0.04 Mil 10 General, NO FIGHT from Recon The KNV a +1 to the next round’s Conquest action against the region!]

Tezh probes come across a series of space stations orbiting a brown dwarf. The native populace seems to consist of 9 foot tall two headed giants dedicated to producing the most valuable spice in the universe...Melange. While its exact properties are unknown, this nearly extinct race has shown a shocking willingness to commit extreme violence in order to control its production. Palace intrigue, betrayals, and revenge killings are fairly commonplace.(TZH survey B8, which contains a [minor] resource of Melange, 3 Units of Giant defenders, and an open LC

Tezh diplomats venture into unknown space only to find a fairly verdant and otherwise untouched world. The natives appear to be a group of stone age hunter gatherers, leaving much of the planets biosphere and mineral wealth intact. Local stories tell of a group of rabbits that come from beneath the ground and enslave the locals. The diplomats pass this off as a myth, until dozens are kidnapped by rabbit tanks in the middle of the night.(TZH survey C9, which contains a [Good] resource of undefined, 2 Units of Wabbit tanks, and an open LC

A Core Patrol pioneers boldy venture into same space to gather information on the enigmatic v0.01. Legend has it that v0.01 is the original same, of course that’s what all the versions say when offered a fancy drink. Months of exploration and chasing off drones yields information about the last unspoilt system in the sector. A series of worlds inhabited by small dog like creatures, known as the borrowers, apparently once a great space faring empire, the borrowers are now restricted to fighting for their lives versus the same after their homeworld got shunted into the core via mysterious means. Recently the Borrowing Same drone components in order to build a massive orbital defense laser. (CPC expedition I17 which contains a [Great] resource of [Undefined], an Open LC, and 3 units of v0.15! There is also a partially completed GP Orbital laser 2/5)

CORE PATROL emissaries voyage across the space of v0.20. In the midst of the all consuming emptiness they find a world under siege by an endless sea of same drones. Unfortunately the core patrol arrive just in time to see the planets inhabitants exterminated by the unending same. But, something miraculous happens, the tide reverses as the planets time itself rewinds. By all appearances the planet is trapped in a time loop that resets once the same exterminate the planets populace to the last. The Ninurtine Empire
    Round 13

    News and Rumours
    • Reports of the Supreme Leader's offer are quickly put before the Council. While vassalage is dismissed out of hand, a merger on the terms discussed is put forward to the Council as a viable option, should the Supreme Leader be considered a viable sovereign.
    • Interviews are held with each member of the diplomatic crew to get a sense of the Supreme Leader's qualities and calibre. After careful consideration, including a suggestion that the Droccen Empress be consulted, it is decided to decline. To take up the offer would result in an unacceptable deterioration of law and order within the Empire's current territories.
    • Members of the Imperial diplomatic corps are given a limited mandate to deal with the Loophole, to the extent at least of determining what their aims are, their integrity, and whether they can fulfil their promise. While overthrow of a government is not a step to be taken lightly, if it is justifiable the Empire may cooperate.
    • Although a faction of the Imperial government, known as the "pragmatists", argue for the benefits of a deal with the Eradicators, the general consensus is that the Eradicators present far too great a threat to the wellbeing of the galaxy to be accommodated. As self-appointed guarantor of Axiom's security, the Empire cannot be seen to cooperate with them even on a project nominally for the common good. Their offer is declined as politely as possible.
    • In the excitement of the UPT surrender, few newssheets report the activities of a young, radical political party. Those which do speak of the charisma of its leader, who talks of reordering Imperial government and ending the dominance of the Malak provinces.
    • As more resources are diverted to the courier investigation, a message from a somewhat aggrieved Ayaka Plakidia arrives, complaining of the underresourcing of her search for Caranus. The Censor-General promises funds will be forthcoming shortly.
    • Following the loyalty of the Tabine Knights in the recent crisis, the Amurrin Sector is officially made an Imperial province. With the former titles of Tyko and Shogun considered inappropriate, the new title of Kanpaku is created for its first native leader under Imperial rule, Sakura Drusilla.
    • Terror on Martu! A bomb is set off outside the Imperial governor's residence. Although no culprit is identified, notices are posted demanding self-determination for the Twr colony.

    Grymlan Combine

    Round 13
    Regions: N30, N32
    High Coordinator Flash Starshine

    Diplomacy: 6
    Military: 6
    Economy: 6
    Philosophy: 8
    Intrigue: 5

    Actions
    • [Military] Invade O31 with Flash Starshine (6) along with 3 units and using HEAT Engines (Diluted Dark Matter), Energy Conversion Weaponry (Voidstone), using High-Intensity Max-Entropy Think-Planning Tactical Doctrine along with Explodium FU-32 Prototype Overcharged Hyperweave Far-Caster's bonus. (2d10+12): The Combine moves to liberate the region of O31 from the clutches of Annul. The organization is a known dangerous entity that is as opportunistic, maybe more so, than the Rothuun and the Wardens, and is responsible for many acts of violence across the Galaxy. Representing a threat to Combine interests, and other friendly Star-Powers, Flash takes it upon himself to see that this threat is ended.
    • [Military] Secure undefended M31 region with 1 unit above techs and tact doctrine if needed (2d10+6): With the threat of another Revolution revealed to be on the horizon, Flash sends Darkship Fleet Flashybang to secure the region for the Combine. While the Grymlan would have preferred to approach the fungal entity diplomatically, such efforts would likely have proven to be too slow and, if the previous revolution was anything to go by, at least now the Combine has a chance to ask for forgiveness rather than completely miss the opportunity to integrate the region.
    • [Intrigue] Special 5 Destroy ANE base in O31: The first target of the new Explodium FU-32 Prototype Overcharged Hyperweave Far-Caster is the Annul base in O31. A sensor probe sent into the system relays the location to the Far-caster, which times its first salvo to arrive just as the Grymlan and Lopurna Darkships arrive in system. The base erupts in a cataclysmic blossom of fire and fury as high-yield kinetic-arc warheads slam into its hull shortly after winking into existence upon leaving FTL.
    • [Philosophy] Special 5 Organize PRaWN Hub Assembly in N30 - As the demands on the OwO hub have increased, the combine has allocated resources to construct a new Super Hub as a combination of a space station and data analysis laboratories. Dubbed Priority Research and Workshop Networking Hubs, the assembly has enhanced computing and data manipulation capabilities to handle high intensity research and analysis. Along with the enhanced capabilities is a much strengthened physical and digital defensive systems.
    • [Intrigue] Grymlan Wormhole Study Project (2/5 +1 from Nyx): Thankful for the assistance from Nyx, the Grymlans push forwards in their research, seeking to see how the Rass stabilization altered the Wormhole and any particle emissions coming from it

    News and Rumors
    • As the Combine discovers the price that the UPT paid for their stake in the upcoming Revolution. Gruff Arclight, High Techie of OwO, condemns the actions of the UPT for the destruction wrought upon the Kasmattii and violating the tenants of OwO in regards to preserving species as each species unique experience unlocks paths through which knowledge might be gained.
    • The Sunbream's occupation of Dipanan space came as a sudden surprise for the Combine who had heard little of the event through the embassy between them. With their forces spread thin in light of the ANE attack and upcoming revolution, and uncertain if an attack is needed, the Combine offers sanctuary for any Dipanan refugees who would flee their Sunbream overlords.
    • Flash Starshine announces a new outreach initiative. Feeling that recent hostilities between Star Powers have been allowed to bubble up uncontrollably and further egged on by certain individuals, the leader of the Combine has come to the conclusion that "Y'all need OwO." Barring that, he has offered to allow immigration to and from Star Powers who would accept Grymlans among their population, with the hope that the fluffy Grymlans' wisdom would rub off on the more excitable species of the galaxy.
    • With the threat of the Revolution on the Horizon, the Star Knights, the Combine + Lyrean band, travels to Celestia to make use of Celestia Enterprises' broadcasting hubs to host the concert of the century. Mixing the band's onstage performance along with a collage of satellite feeds from all over the galaxy, the band hopes to capture the magic of the revolution in action, while ringing in the new ordering of the galaxy on a positive note for those who might find such changes troubling.

      Corporations of the Combine

The government of the Grymlan Combine consists of several corporations that both coordinate with, and against, each other in deciding how the efforts of the Grymlan people are applied. The Corporations are patrons and financial backers to research, production, and distribution groups typically within a certain field of Grymlan life and their internal structure represents the same general structure of the Combine at large.

As such, Leadership among the Grymlans is based on election, with canidates chosen both on their stance with the indivdual corperation and the needs of the Grymlan people as a whole. Unsurprisingly, corruption is not uncommon among Grymlans leaders. Corruption is expected by the general populace as long as it has reasonable limits. Leaders are expected to have their own personal projects they're working on as long as they meet the needs of the Grymlan people. Given the inquisitive nature of Grymlans as a whole, an the high profile nature of the leadership, Grymlan politicians tend to have Cat and Mouse games between themselves that the populace tends to keep abreast of as a form of entertainment. Should such a leader be deemed insufficent, whether by incompetence, corruption, or changing needs of the people, they can be voted out of their position by the Corporations under them (though the state in which they are voted out might dictate the terms of their severance).

      Some Corporations of the Combine.
      • Foodstuff Solutions: Headed by Abrigal Dirtpaw, Foodstuff Solutions represents many agricultural interests in the Combine. Their farms provide food to feed the Grymlan people as well as providing other materials to the other Corporations. Their labs work to improve existing crops while at the same time they are always on the look out for new potential products to grow and experiment with.
      • Max Zappyzap Projections: Lead by Dhaka Sparkthrower, Max Zappyzap Projections is the closest thing the Grymlans have to a security Corporation. In prior years they were an arms manufacturer who designed energy casters for Grymlan ships to protect them against space debris. They also did research into high energy release weapons that largely went unused (I mean of course you gotta set one off just to make sure it works, we didn't need that asteroid anyways) but did result in research with Arclight Power that provided the primary fission reactors that provide power to the Grymlan's cities and ships. Nowadays they serve as one of the military minded corporations expanding the Grymlan's knowledge of tactics and equipment as they are exposed to new races.
      • Arclight Power: Lead by Dayton Voltzap, Arclight Power serves the Grymlan's ever-growing need for power. They are the formost researchers in high energy fields and often looking for new elements or ways to use them alongside Max Zappyzap Projections.
      • Fluffyshine Grooming: Headed by Celise Dyedye, Fluffyshine Grooming provides cosmetics and grooming supplies to the Grymlans. Proper grooming, especially of their tails, is considered a necessity by the Grymlan populace. In addition Grymlans enjoy expressing themselves in a wide array of colors both in clothing and hair dye. Fluffyshine Grooming is the leader in what is new and chic by melding technology with fashion.
      • Farseeker Enterprise: Lead by Trevan Longhaul, Farseeker Enterprise focuses not only on exploratory sensors and shipping, but they also serve the Grymlan Combine with transporting goods between population centers. While they were not the designers of the Darkship concept, they have been diligently improving it, focusing on the ships abilities to operate on long haul deployments and improving on thruster designs.
      • Infrastructure Craftmakers: Lead by Bruk Dynacraft, Infrastructure Craftmakers maintains the infrastructure of Grymlan life whether it be the heat resistant domes of Wratheye or the various space stations orbiting the Cloudysea expanse. They support endeavors to build faster, cheaper, and more adaptable among hostile environments.
      • Truthytruth Communications: Lead by Leelee Sweettounge, Truthytruth Communications deals with data and communications between the Grymlan people and works alongside OwO, and they also host many news and entertainment channels.
      • Feelgood Incorporated: Lead by Vera Tailsnug, Feelgood Incorperated serves the healthcare needs of the Grymlans. The work to constantly push the boundaries of medicine and scientific enhancement.
      • Fringe Science Go!: Headed by Wexel Weirdlight, Fringe Sceince Go! explores theoretical scientific fields such as magic and psionics. With the introduction of aliens with these abilities they have seen a resurgence as of late.
      • Advanced Integrated Dynamics: A recent addition to the Combine, CCI acts as a military corporation specializing in theoretical and prototype designs created from the incorporation, and abuse of, alien tech. Led by Leelee Buildfast.

    • Darkship Fleet Flashybang: three robust Bigzap cruisers along with a smaller fighter Zappycraft carrier and three smaller Fleetfeet corvette ships. While lacking the comfort amenities and most of the production capabilities of Darkship Shinystar, they make up with a considerable increase of mobility and overall speed.
    • Darkship Fleet Novabloom: To replace Darkship Shinystar, Grymlan engineers work on an updated Darkship Design that incorperates a greater number of smaller ships, each heavily armed with Deathbloom missile launchers and enhanced engines. Where previous iterations of darkship fleets focused on a slow, steady, approach to combat, Darkship Fleet NovaBloom represents the application of prototype explosive tech and changing ideas on approaches to naval doctrines.
    • Darkship Fleet Darks-Seer: Drawing upon the newly inducted Lopurna, Darkship Fleet Dark-Seer has several cruiser class ships created in a melding of Grymlan and Lopurna designs supported by Grymlan Zippyzap fighter craft. The The cruisers have several rapid fire zapcaster turrets dedicated to point defense and fighter denial systems, there are several crystaline emitter strips that run the lengths of the ship allowing the Lopurna crew to lash out with deadly psionic energy lances in lieu of the heavy zap cannons found on other Grymlan based warships.
    • Aetherweave Assault Corps: Those Lopurna trained to act as soldiers train their psionic abilities to enhance their physical capabilities, moving with preternatural grace, strength, and precision. As situations call for it, small communions can be levied to increase their capabilities such as against hardened targets or evading detection.

    Actions Rolls

    [Military 10] Tech: Engineered Monstrosities
    Slot: Warbeasts and Live Weaponry
Requires: War Beasts (and its required resource), Genetic Engineering resource (Genetic Engineers, Biotumblers, etc.)
    Effect: +2 to battle.

The Syndrome are skilled at genetic engineering. They take beasts of war to a higher level, fusing together creatures with potent traits to create horrific, but effective monstrosities more capable of tearing through enemy forces than simple trained animals.

[Military] Raise a unit of Resurrected Immortals

The people of R18 once had a powerful fleet, but in their long, frozen sleep it was deactivated. As their soldiers and engineers are thawed out, so are their ancient vessels, refitted and prepared for combat once more.

[Economy 5] Improve Resource Quantity of Refined Kadmium in T18 and take control of TP 3.
The demand for the precious and useful Kadmium only grows within the Protectorates. More refineries are constructed to take advantage of the valuable metal.

[Economy] Buyout T19 TP 2 for Takhaun (Success:15)
The Syndrome once again reach out to the Rothuun to forge stronger economic ties and obtain a source of animals to modify for battle.

[Intrigue] Investigate the facility at the center of the Stormwrack (Unknown:14)
The abandoned alien facility at the center of the Stormwrack has vexed researchers from across the Protectorates for nearly a decade. Now, led by a Paragon Alituran with the ability to channel the energy of the Storm, like a Void-Terror, a group of Krankot mech-knights and several researchers from across the Protectorates once again attempt to breach the station, in hopes of discovering its function and purpose, and maybe some clue to the nature of the Storm.

    [Intrigue] Secret Action (REDACTED:19)
Smiths and murderers speak the same prayers.

    Nonactions

Support Conversions of all owned LCs to the Church of Iteus.
Support buyouts by RMT, CLS and ITS against open TPs in Syndrome territory.
    Resist everything else.

    Celestia Enterprises Embassy:

    Spoiler: N&R
    Show
Two Strainladies have announced their intent to campaign for Overladyship. Violet-Pale-Feet claims to have discovered a way to modify a creature after it has been born, but is highly secretive about the details. Red-Golden-Eyes is perfecting a technique to allow organic life and industrial civilization to coexist symbiotically, using Alituran space stations and Krankot cities as testing grounds.

The race is on! Following the untimely demise around the new year of Overlady Yellow-Coat-Stripes, the two prospective Overladies waiting in the wings sweep in to attempt to take power.
    Contest rules:
At the war deadline this round, 2d6 will be rolled for each possible Overlady. The winner will become the new leader. Other nations can influence this vote.
If the Syndrome capital (S21) is in your Hard Zone or nearer, or if you are a vassal of the Syndrome Protectorates, you get 1 free vote. Otherwise, you can use a Philosophy or Intrigue action to gain 1 vote.
Votes add 1 point to the roll of either candidate. Please PM me your votes, on discord or the forum, in addition to placing them in your IC posts.

    The candidates:
    Violet-Pale-Feet: 1 votes. (RGH)
A secretive priestess of Iteus, Violet-Pale-Feet supports further experimentation in all disciplines, the investigation of unusual and suspicious events, and the active spread of Iteusism.

    Red-Golden-Eyes: 1 votes. (GLR)
A very public figure, Red-Golden-Eyes is one of the oldest politically active Strainladies at almost 30 years. She advocates for economic expansion, improvements in relations to Organizations, and the fight against the Same in the Core.
