Aleash

Aleash mounts Lucky and starts to head out of town. His greatsword is secured to the side of the mount where he can reach it easily at need. His crossbow is resting on the pommel of his saddle.

Shauni, you may sleep wherever you feel comfortable.

Shauni

"Thanks!" says Shauni, as she clambers into the wagon. Plus, I'm a little strapped for cash, I can't afford a horse anyway.

Crog
I mount my horse, Great Axe ready to slice anything in two, and begins to follow Aleash while shouting, "YAY CROG HAVE FUN TIME WITH FRIENDS!"

Jason

Jason sits back in the wagon, leaning his back against one of its sides, with his shortbow rested across his knees and his quiver of arrows placed to the side of him. He tilts his hat slightly, to block out some of the sun's rays. "Lets get this show on the road then."

The journey to find the lost expedition has begun. The sound of the wagons wheels on the soft earth encompasses most of the noise you hear for the first couple of miles. Travel during the morning passes without incedent. Do you break for lunch?

Aleash

Aleash rides out ahead of the group. At times, he lets Lucky gallop enjoying the feel of the wind on his face. Other times he will cautiously examine a copse of trees. If he sees nothing for about 4 hours, he will ride back to the rest of the group to tell them that the way ahead is clear.

When he returns to the group, he is gnawing on a piece of cured beef.

Crog
Crog will range ahead as well but will stay within view of Aleash. Does he see anything? Spot check 1d20 +1 =14. when he gets back he'll say, "We Need Decide Leader Of Group. Fight To See Who Strongest?"

Sandstrider scratches his chin. "Perhaps a vote would be better."

Guicho

Throughout much of the trip, Guicho spends his time getting used to being on horseback. His current task doesn't demand many difficult maneuvers, he simply stays with the wagon, getting a feel for Bones' attitude. He's relatively quiet, spending much of his time in thought, but adding a comment or two to whatever conversation may be going on in the wagon.

"You don't have to be stronger then everyone else to lead them. It's usually a matter of knowing what needs to be done and keeping people on the task. Besides, fightings not really something I'd want to do for fun," He runs his left hand over his right shoulder. "It really hurts." The hand moves down to one of the saddle bags, disappearing from view, but returning with a white waterskin. "The vote sounds good, should we take a break to decide or should we do it on the road?"

Shauni

Shauni sticks her head out of the wagon, having heard the conversation. "Did somebody say vote for the leader?! Cool! Democracy is fun! It's getting to be about noon, maybe Guicho is right about stopping."

The wind picks up. Otherwise nothing out of the norm takes place at this time.

[Katasi]

Sandstrider shrugs "We can stop if you guys want to."

Aleash

There is a small pocket of trees 10 minutes ahead. That may be a good spot to stop for a mid day break.

Responding to Crog
I don't know that we should use fighting to resolve issues within the group, it sets a bad precedent. If you would like we could engage in some friendly wrestling when we stop for the evening. Takes a good look at Crog Or maybe Sandstrider would like to engage you in wrestling. This last is said with a smile and chuckle as he glances from the Orc to the half giant.

"A fight for leadership is a big no no in my opinion, it just shows who is the toughest, not who would be the best to lead us all..." He thinks about this a little, most of them had suggested a vote, but none had yet volunteered themselves. "Well, if its a vote we all want, does anyone want to be voted for?"

The small pocket of trees are made up of deciduous trees. A small pond is off to the left of the trees. There is a small hill with a cave on the other side of the pond.

Guicho

"I've always been more comfortable being a deckhand rather then a captain. Alot less worrying to be had that way." Upon getting off his horse Guicho takes a few seconds to get the blood flowing into his legs again, That'll take some getting used to. before digging through one of the saddle bags for a meal. "Anyway, from what I've seen so far I'd nominate Aleash. You seem to have a way with words."

I chose Bones after Guicho's train of thought. He would have ended up as nothing, but skin and Bones if he hadn't gone back for the feed, still might if he forgets to give it to him. Nothing to do with borninbones, nope, nothing at all.

Sandstrider gives a small laugh at Aleash's comment about wrestling. But stays silent for the rest of the conversation.

"But Me BORED From All This No Fighting! Me NEED Fight To Keep Calm. Oh And Wrestling Sandy Sound Goody. But In Case Democratic Desicion, Me Not Know What That Is." Crog shouts with some very exagerated movements. "Beside, All Orc Decide Leader By Virtue In Battle. And Me Know Fight Smarts!"

Have patience my friend. I know sometimes waiting can be tough, but from what the old man has said, I am sure that we will have ample opportunity to fight.

I thank you for the vote of confidence. I make no claims to leadership skills, most of my talking has been to get myself out of trouble. chuckles If it is the will of the group, I will accept the responsibility. I will not however force myself on the group if there are those who oppose my leadership.

Neither Aleash or I are actively looking for the leadership post. In this group he would probably the best choice as the "face" for the group, but I am no tactician.

Aleash will not argue with Shauni's claim to leadership. Simply respond If you wish it, I will not argue.He will then continue eating and ensure that Lucky can either graze or is fed. Once that is done, he is prepared to leave.

"Crog Want In. Me Tactition Of Kind. Me know how win fights..." he trails off and looks at the ground with an angry look. "Me only lost once."

Shauni

Shauni shakes her head slowly."I understand, Crog, but tactics is more than 'Hitting Them With Heavy Stuff Before They Hit You With Heavier Stuff'. It takes smarts. Cunning. And...er...expertise." She takes a lump of cheese out of her Haversack, as well as the meat and a loaf of bread. She cuts a hunk of the cheese with her knife and eats it.

"Crog do more than hit stuff with heavy stuff." you can hear him whisper, "Me kill things because me out thought them. Me not as stupid as me seem." His tone is so low and his head so close to Shauni that, other than Shauni, it would take a well trained ear to hear him. ((The speaking is efectively an attempt to intmidate 1d20+6=19))

His interest in the selection of a leader exhausted, and ready to continue, Aleash decides it is time for him to move out.

While you continue this debate, I will try and find us a good location to make camp for the night.
He looks up at the sky.
Hopefully our luck with the weather holds out for a while longer.

If there is no objection, Aleash will mount Lucky and continue on searching for a big rock. He will come back to check on the group after about 1/2 an hour.

Vs. Intimidate

Shauni throws her arms in the air as she says, "Fine! Fine! Back off!" After stepping away from Crog, she says, That's what I'm talking about! You can't solve every problem by threatening it!

Sandstrider mournfully wishes that he was a better rider and had a mount so he wasn't stuck with the orc and the girl. He sighs and says "While you two are working this out, why don't you take care of the animals? They might as well be fed now as well."

I get off my horse and put some feed into his mouth bag ((not a full thing just a little)). When we stop for the night I get off groom him, give him some water and give him the rest of his feed ((the rest of that one item)). I set up my tent but set up my bedroll outside. I then chop down a nearby tree and start a fire with it ((survival check 1d20+8= 16)) If I suceed I then sit on the ground near it. If I don't, I keep going until I do. "Ok, me a little calmer from insult earlier. Now we need to pick leader in FAIR way that all agree on. Who would like to be leader?" he asks as he raises his own hand and looks at Shauni.

The clouds look more threatening then the orc. After about a half an hour, it begins to sprinkle.

Shauni

Shauni pats Bones' nose as she feeds him. On hearing Crog's statement, she says, "Okay. Sorry I suggested that you were stupid before. We should pick a leader in a fairer way." When It starts to rain, she grabs together her foodstuffs, and says "What should be do about the fire?"

((She's eaten half the block of cheese by now.))
