    He will ride ahead.

Do Ludo or Urgrim have any sort of reaction to what's going on? Sorta waiting on them.

Apologies for vanishing a little longer than expected - work was tougher than I thought, and I had to prepare for another job interview - but I got the job! I'm going to be working at Rebellion in Oxford, as a junior designer on the next Sniper Elite game. As such, just a heads up that I might be vanishing a bit more in future, since I need to do things like move out and rent a house and suchlike. When I can predict these absences I will let you know.

Thanks! I just went through the interview process - they were hiring for Evil Genius originally but I have a fair bit of FPS design experience so they kind of shuffled me sideways. I think it helped that I occasionally blog about the game design stuff I do, so I was able to show that I can talk articulately about my process and how I make decisions. Also they have their own bespoke engine, so me having limited experience in UE4 didn't matter.

(More relevantly, I discovered that Rebellion own both 2000AD and Cubicle 7, designers of the new WHFRP).

Started drafting an update for both groups, thought I'd better let this conversation between Sieghard and Ludo play out to an agreement first, but then realised I could probably do the Adelbert bit anyway without messing up the timing. Sorry for keeping you waiting RossN.

TheSummoner, Thragka hasn't been online since Sunday. Unless he suddenly shows up, I'd suggest it's Ludo or no-one. I can autopilot Urgrim to come along with the infantry, but I'm very reluctant to transport a PC to the forefront of a high-stakes confrontation on autopilot.

If Sieghard wants Ludo to stay behind, I think that will need a roll.

Speaking of, remind me how healing works at this stage? Ludo gained one wound from healing the night he spent in the hospital - can I assume he dropped in for another test the next day? So he's at 1-2 wounds depending on that roll?

Sorry, I'm here now. I know I've been spotty, I'll endeavour to keep a closer eye on the game.

EDIT: And congrats to LeSwordfish! Hope your move goes easier than mine and, say, hypothetically, you don't discover on the final morning of the tenancy when you go to hand back your old keys that your ex-flatmate has buggered off without doing any of the final work in the flat that was agreed to be their responsibility, and that you don't then discover that the oven is full of corrosive cleaning liquid which has apparently been just left out for days, and has dripped through the oven door and got all over the floor, and the fridge is still full of old food, and so on. Some bizarre occurrence like that would be downright irritating.

I'm tempted to say no since he made the choice to discharge himself... but Heal checks aren't hard to come by and haven't been played out as taking a long time before. If he didn't stop by the hospital he could certainly have got one off Adelbert. I forgot to answer this question when I first posted though so I'm gonna have to double post with the roll, which I realised as I was typing this sentence, i am smart man

Urgrim doesn't really have a response to Ludo: his body language indicates he's clearly not happy about this, but he doesn't feel he knows him well enough yet to tell him off. But if Sieghard leaves Ludo behind, Urgrim will go with Sieghard.

That said, Urgrim's fully armed and armoured so I don't know enough about horses to say whether it can carry two adults in mail and assorted weaponry.

I fell down a bit of a google hole about how many people a horse can carry, and I think it's kind of in the area where it really wouldn't be a good idea (for the horse or for the riders), it wouldn't be outright impossible either. I am not a horse expert either but I reckon a little dramatic licence can probably be allowed, considering that Ludo is very small.

That being said the castle has more than one horse, so if Ludo can find another rider (or if he wants to make an untrained Ride test himself) he won't need Sieghard and might get a less precarious ride.

take belehir's horse and leave them in your dust ludo

I don't think Ludo's the issue, though, it's Urgrim, who's nearly as heavy as Sieghard and probably denser (though, I suppose, presumably of similar cross section and so likely putting less pressure on the horse's spine).

Can I use the Lore of Verena from the core book rather than one of the paths from Tome of Salvation? It seems to offer a nice balance rather than forcing me into a specialisation.

According to the rulebook dwarfs are typically about 15-30lbs lighter than humans, and according to Doctor Google the limit for the weight a horse can should carry is about 20% of its own. Again according to google a medieval warhorse might weigh about 1400 lbs at the upper end of the spectrum (IIRC Sieghard nicked his horse from the Red Company? Can't remember if it has a name but it's a warhorse on the sheet), If you take Sieghard's weight of 155lbs, assume Urgrim is something like 140 and Ludo is no more than 100, and that between you you've probably got no more than 50lbs of gear then you're at about 30% of its bodyweight. The study I googled said at 20% horses were showing no ill effects whereas at 25% they were breathing heavily and sore, so I assume 30% is in the same regime - horse is having a bad time but it's not going to just collapse under the weight. For a human it would be like running with a ~25kg backpack on.

Happy belated birthday! Isn't the rulebook lore the same as one of the ToS paths? I thought that was always the case.

Never named it, but yes, it's a Red Company warhorse. As for riding double, Sieghard and Viggo did it on Magnus after Rivermouth and he was a smaller horse.

Edit: and yeah, one of the ToS lists is identical to the core rules list for divine and arcane spells. Happy birthday, RossN

Magnus was a draught horse wasn't he? Bigger than a warhorse, that's why he was called Magnus.

In any case riding double is certainly fine, it's only riding triple that I think is in question.

I'll give Thragka a chance to respond before posting since he can actually understand what the vampire is saying, but about how large is this chest? If we could get to it, would it be feasible to try to make a run for it, or would it slow us too much?

    (1d100)[72] - Sieghard's terror roll

Edit: forced to retreat. Given he's not being aggressive yet, I'll save my rerolls for the moment.
