Reply All: for offbeat tech news, but more generally how technology affects our lives. Their super tech support section is especially good.
Myths and Legends: Good ol' fashioned storytelling, revised for an audience with more modern tastes. It's a great way to learn mythos from many different cultures.

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
Hello Internet and Cortex, for the CGP Grey. Also the Accidental tech podcast for tech. However, I haven't listened to them since my phone broke a few months ago.

Hello From the Magic Tavern, fantasy improv goodness.
Improvised Star Trek, sci fi improv goodness.
Last Podcast on the Left: true crime and paranormal recap podcast with one of the guys from Adult Swim's Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell really funny and disturbing!
The Thomas Jefferson Hour: Chitaqua performance from humanities scholar Clay Jenkinson (he appears in a lot of Ken Burn's documentaries) Answers questions about modern society in character as Thomas Jefferson. Pretty neat.
History of Rome is an oldie but goodie
It Could Happen Here, a political podcast by former Cracked columnist Robert Evans
The Best Show by Tom Sharpling, he as a writer on Monk as well as the voice of Steven Universe's father Greg. Solid Radio DJ banter.
How did this get made? a bunch of comedians take the wizz out of bad movies.
My History can Beat up your Politics, a political podcast that takes a nod at historical precedent.
and finally no podcast list can be complete without mentioning...
Welcome to Night Vale, a community news podcast about the Twin Peaks/Sunnydale esque desert town of Night Vale.Saying that X isn't overpowered because it can be countered in contrived manner Y does not prove that it isn't overpowered. You've proved that it has weaknesses. Congratulations. The state of being overpowered, however, is not an absence of weaknesses but a surplus of strength beyond what would be commiserate with your weaknesses.

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
I have kind of fallen off the bandwagon a bit with podcasts recently as my life has grown more busy, but I still keep up with Hello Internet and The Unmade Podcast. HI has already been mentioned, basically just youtubers CGP Grey and Brady Haran talking about all kinds of things. They are usually great fun to listen to.
The Unmade Podcast also features Brady Haran. The premise is that it's a podcast which discusses ideas for other podcasts, which is very meta and often quite silly. Sometimes they also produce an episode of one of the ideas, which can be quite fun as well.
I used to follow a number of Actual Play podcasts, but I've found it tricky to keep up. I did mange to finish the entire first arc of The Adventure Zone, which I would also wholeheartedly recommend. For something that starts off just being a (perhaps too) goofy, casual AP podcast, it evolves into something that is truly epic in scope, with tons of memorable characters and some genuinely heartfelt moments - while at the same time retaining its goofiness and often being laugh out loud-funny.
I also semi-follow The Glass Cannon Podcast (an enjoyable long-running Pathfinder 1.0 AP) and its various spin-offs, but it's become very difficult to keep up with everything they do. At the moment I just try to follow Androids and Aliens (their Starfinder show), leaving the others a bit on the backburner.Last edited by Corlindale; 2019-08-30 at 09:49 AM.

Criminale is quite interesting as the episodes aren't too long. I tried Hardcore History for quite some time but my mind always wanders off and I lose track of what I was listening to :(

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
My main one is Megadumbcast, a short, daily podcast reading every page of various Palladium RPG rulebooks and lovingly picking apart the nonsensical rules and errors.
Plus a couple of advice column podcasts (I'm especially fond of Slate's Dear Prudence), and a couple of different podcasts who go through lists of political and/or religious figures, in order, talking about them and rating them on various tongue-in-cheek criteria. One of them rates all the Roman Emperors, for example.
Also the Good Place podcast, although it's paused for now.(Avatar by Cuthalion, who is great.)

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
There's a definite political/religious lean to mine. Removing the more overt ones from the list leaves:
- The History of China
- Ancient Warfare Podcast
- Jianhu Hustle
- Behind the Bastards
- 99% Invisible
- Philosophers in Space
- Fear the Boot
It's a long list, so there's a bit of a backlog on some of them.Last edited by Knaight; 2019-10-03 at 03:43 AM.
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.

I haven't watched for a few months, but I like watching the weekly Ciovacco Capital YouTube video on their CCM model of investing. He basically takes charts of the current stock market and compares them to charts from the past. It is fun stuff.

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
I haven't really looked into them. When podcasts first started being a thing, none of them had closed captioning, so I didn't really pay any attention to them. I have a hearing loss (not total; hearing aids help a lot, but I still miss a bunch), so particularly when the audio quality wasn't terrific they weren't very accessible to me. Have they generally gotten any better about captions recently?

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
Have you asked your audiologist about a Compilot? I have one, and it helps me hear my podcasts when I run (and I have near-total hearing loss). If you just want captioning, some podcasts on YouTube will have that.
As for which podcasts I listen to, I mostly listen to Limited Resources, a MtG Podcast about limited formats, and Dies to Removal, another more general MtG podcast. I also like This American Life, but I'm not sure if bringing it up violates the forum rules so I won't discuss it here.I'm a Lawful Good Human Wizard at 1st level

Castle Super Beast. Pat Boisvin & Woolie Madden of the defunct Super Best Friends LP channel talk videogames and recent events in their lives. it's kinda like having two gamer friends talking smack in the background as you do stuff.

Re: What podcasts do you listen to?
Absolute favorite at the moment is Creature Club, a cast about all the D&D creatures in the monster manual and how to use them in your game. It’s honestly just really funny/informative to listen to, and I get great ideas for my games. Oh, it’s also just funny to hear a bunch of Irish guys goofing off
