Default RC's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time OOC

RC's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
A game for up to 6 players starting at level 3

"In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule... Long have I served as the guardian spirit...

I am known as the Deku Tree...

The children of the forest, the Kokiri, live here with me...

Navi... Navi, where art thou? Come hither....

Oh, Navi the fairy... Listen to my words, the words of the Deku Tree... Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm... Malevolent forces even now are mustering to attack our land of Hyrule...

For so long, the Kokiri Forest, the source of life, has stood as a barrier, deterring outsiders and maintaining the order of the world... But...before this tremendous evil power, even my power is as nothing.

It seems the time has come for the children of fate to begin their journey... The youths whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth...

Navi...go now! Find our young friends and guide them to me... I do not have much time left. Fly, Navi, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world, depends upon thee!"

    Spoiler: Big 16
    Show

What game system are you running?
    D&D 3.5

What is the setting for the game?
The game takes place in Kokiri Forest, a tame-ish region of The Lost Woods in The Kingdom of Hyrule.

You are all members of the Kokiri, a race of diminutive forest dwellers who have the appearance of Hylian children who never grow up. Their age is unrelated to physical appearance; everyone looks about twelve. Time moves strangely in the woods anyway, so age is pretty meaningless. Kokiri never leave the forest, as to do so they would die.

The Kokiri live side by side with the fairies who are their friends, protectors, and teachers. Fairies appear as 3" balls of glowing light with diaphonous wings, or tiny humanoids on close inspection.

Kokiri Forest is watched over by The Great Deku Tree. For as long as your people have stories The Great Deku Tree has always protected your people, using his magic to provide for you and turn away outsiders from his glade near the village.

    He summons you now.

How many players are you looking for?
    5-6 players.

    What is the gaming medium?
Play by post on this forum. Aim for several IC posts a week. This may be a long campaign, so please be in it for the long haul.

    What is the characters' status?
Level 3. Leveling is by checkpoint.

How much gold will the characters begin with?
    Wealth by level. 2700 Rupees.

    Forest shop:
    900 Rupee max per item.
Items with significant wood or leather components cost 75% their usual price.
Items with significant metal components cost 200% their usual price.

    Allowable starting classes?
Any non-home-brewed from an allowable source.

    Allowable races?
    All players are Kokiri.
Kokiri are as per human, except small.
You get a +2 campaign bonus to all saves.

Fairies are NOT a racial feature of Kokiri, but they may be taken via the "Fairy Companion" feat as below. Fairies are also an option as a familiar, in which case the familiar bonus is a +1 morale bonus to saves.

    Spoiler: Fairy Companion
    Show

This feat may be taken at first level. A member of the Kokiri tribe may be accompanied by a Fairy Companion. The stats of a Fairy are given below. A fairy companion has a number of hit dice equal to that of its master. A fairy companion gains skill points, attribute improvements and feats as normal.

    Fairy (Fine Fey)
    Hit dice: 1d6 (4hp)
    Initiative: +8
    Speed: Fly 60ft (perfect)
    Armour Class: 23 (+8 size, +4 Dex, +1def), touch 23, flat footed 19
    Base Attack/Grapple: +0/-20
    Attacks: Unarmed Strike +4 (-4)
Full Attack: Unarmed Strike +4 (-4)
    Space/Reach: 0.5ft / 0ft
    Special Attacks: -
    Special Qualities: Low Light Vision
    Saves: FORT+0, REF+8, WILL+4
    Attributes: Str2, Dex19, Con10, Int14, Wis15, Cha12
    Skills: Hide+0*, Move Silently+8, Spot+6, Listen+6, Sense Motive+6, Knowledge(Nature)+6, 2x Knowledge (Any)+6
Feats: Weapon Finesse(b), Lightning Relieves, Improved Initiative

*Fairies have a -16 racial modifier on hide checks due to their obvious glow. Fairies may shift between corporeal and incorporeal forms as a standard action.

Fairies appear as floating balls of light with diaphonous wings (or as humanoids on close inspection) that glow about as brightly as a candle. Only their death can extinguish the glow, though they can try to hide it. Entering an object also obscures the glow.

How should players generate their starting stats?
    Attributes 36pt buy.

Hit Points: Max at level 1. Thereafter half rounded up.

Bonus feat: An extra bonus feat is granted at first level.

    Flaws: No flaws.

Traits: Up to 1 trait permitted.

BaB/Saves: Fractional or regular per player preference. Just be consistent.

For the purpose of bonus languages, you all speak Hylian (common).

    Other languages spoken in Hyrule:
    Deku Scrub
    Draconic
    Fairy
    Gerudo
    Goron
    Moblin
    Sheikah (Ancient Hylian)
    Zora

Instead of Druidic pick Fairy, Deku Scrub or Sheikah. Fairy is associated with Spirits, Deku Scrub with Forest Creatures, and Sheikah with the ancients.

    Deities:

The major deities are The Three Goddesses:
    Din, Goddess of Power
    Nauru, Goddess of Wisdom
    Farore, Goddess of Courage

There are a couple of manifest spirits, like the Great Deku Tree
There are other more minor deities, more like major spirits, but they wouldn't be general knowledge to the Kokiri.

    Alignment restrictions?
Player characters must not be evil or cowardly.

    Multiclassing?
    Yes, without penalty.

    How do dice rolls work?
    Using the forum dice roller.

    Variant Rules?
A few house rules will be in effect as detailed below. The initiative fix is to try and keep PbP going smoothly. Sword and board, archery, improvised weapons and riding all get a few goodies as they're thematic to the campaign. Then there are some feat tax reductions.

If anything you have planned is in conflict with any of the changes below, we should be able to come to an arrangement.

    Spoiler: Initiative
    Show
Enemies will go by group initiative. Players may post in any order, but actions will be adjudicated in player initiative order.

    Spoiler: Feats
    Show

Power Attack: One handed and Two handed weapons both get +2 to damage for each point of BaB sacrificed.

Deadly Aim: This feat is Power Attack for Ranged Weapons. +2 to damage for each point of BaB sacrificed for any ranged weapon.

Weapon Focus: Combines Weapon Focus (BaB+1), Weapon Specialisation (BaB+4), Greater Weapon Focus (BaB+8), Greater Weapon Specialisation (BaB+12). Linked to BaB, not fighter level.

Two Weapon Fighting: You get an extra attack with your off hand each time you are granted an additional iterative attack due to BaB. This replaced improved and greater two weapon fighting.

Point Blank Shot is no-longer a prerequisite feat.

Mounted Combat is no longer a prerequisite feat.

    Spoiler: Shields
    Show
    Available Shields:
    Bucklers (1AC), per srd.
Shield (3AC), and grants Cover and Evasion as an immediate action against one attack against the bearer. Stats otherwise as per a heavy shield in the srd.
Tower Shield (5AC) and grants total cover (including improved evasion) against one attack against the bearer. Stats otherwise as per a tower shield in the srd.

Shield AC applies to touch AC.

An inappropriately sized shield counts as a shield of a different type (heavier or lighter). A shield lighter than a buckler or heavier than a tower shield cannot be used in combat.

The Animated Enhancement may not be taken.

    Spoiler: Improvised Weapons
    Show
You only count as non-proficient with an improvised weapon if it isn't similar to a weapon you have proficiency with. E.g. A chair leg is similar to a small club so you may use it without penalty, but a complete chair would be too weird.

How will player selection be made?
I will select players on the quality of their submitted characters.

I am looking for a physical description, and a good feel for the character's personality. Decent character art is a definite plus. Background should be kept short; you haven't done anything of note and your skills are amateur.

This will not be first come first served. I will select what I consider to be the best applications.

What is the style of gameplay?
A large proportion of the game will be dungeon crawl, so combat heavy with some puzzles and NPC interaction.

    Allowable sourcebooks?
Any official 3.5 sourcebook. Spell Compendium takes precedence over earlier spell versions. No Homebrew.

Welcome to the OOC! Feel free to introduce yourselves and finalise any details.

We've ended up with a swordsage, barbarian, spirit shaman, bard, and a rogue, which seems like a good mix.

I'll get the IC thread up soon.

Woot! Thanks for the opportunity, RCG! Do we pick colors? If so, I’m partial to this for communication.

    Weaver
    Vital Statistics: CG Kokiri Male
    Build: Rogue 3
    Role: Skillmonkey/TWFer

    Spoiler: Description
    Show

Weaver is one of the smaller Kokiri. He yearns to be taller, but since he doesn’t remember ever being a different size, it seems unlikely to happen. Standing a few acorns shy of a goji bush,Weaver doesn’t weigh more than a sack of Deku Seeds. His deep brown eyes peer out from a mop of unkempt hair, usually under a green hat. His face is typically smudged from his latest mischief, but his clothes always seem clean. When he grins, it’s usually because he’s up to no good, but it’s infectious none-the-less.

Recently, he seems to have a stash of acquisitions that nobody knows where he got them ... and if asked, Weaver will reply that he ‘found’ them.

    Spoiler: Personality
    Show

Weaver's imagination and desire for adventure make up for what his normal, boring life would decree. Life as a Kokiri is rarely exciting, and Weaver is always daydreaming of something more. This usually presents itself through stories and tales that he tries to convince the more gullible of his Kokiri kin. Otherwise, he is trailing behind those who seem to have found excitement in their lives, tryin to live vicariously through their exploits ... which often become his own in later conversations.

Because he is a smaller Kokiri, others have nicknamed him Wee, but he hates it. He is willing to go through great lengths to prove himself to others, which can mean getting in over his head. Taking up dares he has little chance of success at ... making up stories to feel like a part of the group ...

But it is that spark of unrestrained determination that marks him as someone special, and someone destined for anything but a normal life.

    Spoiler: Background
    Show

Weaver paused for a moment, looking to the entrance of the tree hollow where the group hunkered down. It was late, with the moon already rising beyond the canopy of the forest, and most Kokiri were already in bed. However, the four small forest children huddled inside were bright-eyed as they listened intently, entranced as Weaver whispered his secrets.

"So like I was saying, the Great Deku Tree was overrun by Moblins ..."

    "What's a moblin?"

"You know what they are ... savage, blue things with sharp teeth. Anyway, the Deku Tree sent for a group of us to help stop the little monsters. Most of the others were busy fighting a fire -"

    "What fire?"

"Hunh? The ... the fire! You know, when moblins attack they always start fires."

    "They do?"

"Yes, they do. Now - "

    "Why?"

    "Why what?"

    "Why do they start fires?"

    "What? I-I don't know. Because it ... ah ... causes a distraction? Yeah, that's it. A distraction!"

    "A distraction for what?"

"What do you mean for what?"

"Well if the moblins were already attacking the Great Deku Tree, why would they need a distraction?"

Weaver rubbed his eyes for a moment, thinking furious, then smiled and opened them with a triumphant finger point. "Because, dummy, they wanted to distract everyone who would have gone to help the Great Deku Tree!

Now, during the battle, Risu was killed -"

"I just saw Risu this morning!"

    "I didn't say Risu. I said ... Risa."

    "Her, too! They're twins!"

"No, you misheard, Rysu. Yes, Rysu was slain by the moblins!"

    "What is a mob-"

"I told you want a mobllin is! Savage! Blue! Teeth! Anyway, I got there and had to save the Deku Tree -"

"Wait, you saved the Deku Tree?"

"Yes, me. Well, and some others. But, yes, yeah ... mostly me."

    "When did this happen again?"

"Five summers ago, like I told you!"

    "I don't remember any of this ..."

"Well, ah ... there was ... a ... spell! Yes, that's right! A spell to make you all forget. But ... because I was saving the Great Deku Tree ... I was ... immune!"

A chuckle came from behind him, and Weaver spun around. A taller Kokiri stood shaking his head. "I told you guys he'd be here."

"Oh, uh, hey Paku ... oh, and um Tika ... and Peechee ... it's all the gang!"

"What are you doing in here, Wee? You know you're not supposed to be keeping everyone up, spinning yarns."

"Oh, I wasn't spinning yarns ... more of a ... um, history lesson. Yes, that's it. History!"

    "What are you talking about?"

"He said he saved the Great Deku Tree."
    "Yes from moblins!"
    "Savage, blue things with teeth!"
    "And there was a fire!"
    "But everyone else was busy!"
    "So he did it himself!"

The group of taller Kokiri looked at Weaver. "Darnit, wee, you weren't even spinning yarns - you're just lying!"

"Hey, it was my story! You weren't there! Well, you were, kinda, but you were busy."

"Come on, Wee, you know the Great Deku Tree doesn't like it when we lie ..."

    "Oh come on, Wee ..."

"Don't call me Wee! My name's Weaver!"

"Sure, sure, Wee. Whatever you say. Get to bed before we tell the Deku Tree on you again. Same goes for everyone else - scoot!"

Weaver looked down sullenly, rubbing his toe in the dirt. "Fine, fine. We'll go in a minute."

He waited for a moment, after the group left, then shook his head, leaning in close to the others. "See what I told you? That spell really messed things up. Now I'm the only one who remembers anything about the Battle of the Hreat Deku Tree! Anyway ... I'll tell you guys more later. Peechee was right about one thing ... we should all get some sleep."

With that, Weaver snuck off to find his bed. Sliding under the covers, he sighed as he stared at the ceiling. If the Great Deku Tree had been attacked, he could’ve been a hero. Didn’t all the legends start with someone nobody considered a hero? Didn’t every great story have to have a beginning, no matter how small?

So, checking my sheet again it seems I missed to save one time. Now I have to go shopping again (only the weapons and so are on my sheet -_- )

And @starbin: Zippo will be Wee's flanking buddy! We both benefit from it. I'm in the center, drawing aggro (as far as possible) and you are coming from the, ya, flank?

    Vikka the Kokiri Swordsage
    Vital Statistics: CG Female Kokiri
    Build: Swordsage 3
    Role: Finesse DPS and Scout

    Spoiler: Description
    Show

"Zolaaaaa! How am I supposed to be all sneaky sneak like the Sheikah when you're all sparkle, tingle "Hey LISTEN!'-Vikka to her fairy companion Zola

Vikka is a relatively tall kokiri maiden, much to her brother's chagrin, with flowing copper hair and a semi permanent grin that only highlights the mischievous gleam in her deep emerald eyes. Though you wouldn't be able to tell her height from just looking as she has began developing an unconscious stoop from her constant skulking. Her garb is fairly typical of the region, though she has modified it somewhat for greater mobility, or what she thinks is such. Her hair style is in pig tails since it is relatively easy to style, keeps her hair out of her face, and most importantly looks WAY cool when she sprints all quickity quick through the village. Physically she is quite well muscled, which can be contributed for her constant need to be moving or doing something active.

    Spoiler: Personality
    Show
The most simple and effective way to describe Vikka is 'Organized Chaos'. To anyone else Vikka's motives and actions are a jumbled mess of logic but in actuality everythingVikka does is well intentioned and carefully thought out. For example, say one of the villagers is feeling incredibly down, Vikka is the type of person to plan and execute a series of actions that will carefully tip toe around angering others just to make the person laugh. Of course she completely lacks the means to explain her thought process to others and generally falls back on a childish vernacular when trying to speak. Overall she has roughly an 80% successrate and the other kokiri tolerate her since in the grand scheme of things she improves the lives of those around her.

Her peers will say the most annoying aspect of her character is her deep seeded obsession with the Sheikah. They are just utterly baffled that Vikka does everything in her power to learn more about them and emulate it. Most of the time you cannot get her attention but simply mention the Sheikah and she instantly becomes silent and attentive. It weirds people out that she constantly creeps and stalks whoever she wants but to her it comes from an unparalleled focus at tasks she seems important. The sole reason she idolizes the tribe is that one time as a child she listened to a story about how they were the protectors of the royal family and after contemplating the story she realized there was no one to protect her people. So she vowed from that day forward that she would learn all she could to become the protector of her village, without the others knowing because she didn't want to worry them.

    Spoiler: Background
    Show
Vikka, for as long as she could remember she had lived in the village, honestly she couldn't put a label on how long that had been but it didn't bother her much . She quickly realized she wasn't very good at interacting with others so she kept to herself as often as she could though she would always gather with the other for story time. She loved stories more than anything, in particular any references to other people. This was especially so when it came to the Sheikah, they were her favorite, because they helped people from the shadows. The others thought she was weird for it but she didn't mind and soon it became her obsession. When she couldn't learn any more from the village elders she sought after the Great Deku tree, as he was the wisest being in the forest. This of course made Mido quite irrate since he kept saying the forest was dangerous but Vikka ignored bossy Mido as she knew how to handle herself.

Over time she learned more about the Sheikah from the Great Deku tree and began to emulate their training for herself. She saw the burden the Great Deku Tree carried on its own and thought it wasn't fair. She looked at her peer's capricious lifestyle and grew worried. So she decided to help out with the defense of the village and in order to do that she would regularly venture out into the entrance areas of the Lost Woods. The Great Deku Tree saw her efforts and chided her for going alone, stating that it was dangerous. It insisted that Vikka at least be accompanied by a fairy companion of her own and thus Vikka was introduced to Zola. Zola acted like a scolding nursemaid but the fairy had good intentions and was very knowledgeable about Hyrulian history. She was an excellent source of information about the Sheikah and aided Vikka in her training in the way of the shadow. It didn't take long for them to become friends, though it was certainly an odd relationship.

    Thanks for having me!

Xenia is basically going to focus on nature-themed blasting and BFC rather than mixing it up in melee. That said, she can also act as a secondary healer to back up Nippi. If we're allowed to fiddle with our purchases, maybe I can hold off on buying the chronocharm and have her pick up a wand of lesser vigor to help supplement the healing so it's not all on Nippi.

Done. I can't imagine more healing will ever hurt. (Unless your undead.)

    Spoiler: Introduction
    Show
Xenia’s vision blurred, went white. She blinked rapidly, struggling to get the stars out of her eyes. When it cleared, she was slumped back against the stump of the deku tree she had been standing on just a moment ago.

“Hello! Hey!” The familiar voice called. Xenia’s eyes tracked right until they caught the ghostly outline of Mab. “Hey!” Mab called again, her bright voice sounding oddly muffled. “Are you alright? I think you almost had it this time!”

Mab’s shining form danced forward, hovering near the old signpost that she had been practicing on. One side of it was charred a deep black, as though struck by lightning. The sign itself had been blown off entirely, and was lying half a dozen feet away. Xenia forced herself up and stumbled forward, willing her legs to support her. The world wobbled worryingly, but she ignored it, planting one foot after the other.

“Did you hear the bang?” Mab said excitedly, dancing on top of the splintered signpost. “There was real thunder! Listen, I think you really did it this time, Xenia.”

“It would be nice to keep my eyes open long enough to see it happen myself,” Xenia sighed. “The girl I see - the one in my dreams, the one I always see with you - she doesn’t fall down every time she calls the storm. She—”

“Xenia!” Xenia whipped around, seeing Luzo running up the hill, his bright fairy dancing swirls in the dappled sunlight just behind him. “Xenia… who are you talking to?”

“No one,” Xenia said quickly, feeling her cheeks grow warm. “Just, um, myself.” Beside her, Mab shimmered, flicking her wings in the way that Xenia knew meant she was annoyed.

“Just tell him,” Mab said. “Is the fact that you can see me really more embarrassing than the whole Forest thinking that you talk to yourself?”

“I wasn’t talking to anyone,” Xenia said again, ignoring Mab. “I was just… playing. By myself. Why?”

“Did you hear the thunder?” Luzo asked. “I would have sworn the sky was about to open up, the way it rumbled! But the sun’s as bright as ever.” He frowned. “Didn’t you hear it?”

“Oh, um, yeah,” Xenia said. “That was something, wasn’t it? Thunder in the middle of a sunny day like this.” Her fingers twitched, anxious to try to channel the storm again. Next to her, Mab stuck out her tongue. She scowled and tried to brush her away. “Stop,” she muttered under her breath.

Luzo frowned. “You’re weird,” he said. “It’s no wonder you don’t have a fairy, Xenia…”

    Spoiler: Background
    Show

As long as Xenia can remember, she’s dreamed of her.

She looks a lot like Xenia. She has the same eyes that Xenia sees when she looks into the reflective surface of the pond, the same scattering of freckles that always appear when Xenia spends too much time outside the shade, the same knobby knees and elbows. More, she has the same mark, that berry-purple mark that Xenia has running down her left cheek, about the size of a Deku nut.

Sometimes Xenia dreams of her in familiar places: many of the same little nooks and haunts that Xenia herself has discovered within the Kokiri Forest. But the forest itself, somehow, is different. The trees seem younger, the light brighter, the scrubs and vines somehow wilder. It doesn’t bother the little Kokiri that Xenia dreams of. She scampers through the Kokiri Forest as though it was made for her, never flinching even when the most vicious Deku Babas spring out at her.

And then sometimes, when Xenia dreams, she is somewhere new. Somewhere different. In some of her dreams, the little Kokiri girl with the mark on her cheek doesn’t even seem to be in the Forest at all. Those are the dreams that scare poor Xenia, that make her wake up gasping for air. But the Kokiri girl in her dreams, she is never scared. She knows how to ride the winds, how to channel lightning and thunder. Xenia has tried to channel the storms like the girl from her dreams. Sometimes it even works—but every time she calls down thunder she loses control, her vision blurring and her mind fogging over. Still, she tries.

And Mab helps. Mab… what a strange little thing, straight out of her dreams! She sees Mab when she sleeps, too, always dancing with that same Kokiri girl she dreams of. In her dreams Mab is real, is as solid and bright as any other fairy. But when she is awake, Mab seems almost spectral, sometimes shimmering in and out of existence. Mab doesn’t remember the little Kokiri girl that Xenia dreams of. Mab doesn’t seem to remember much, though sometimes when she talks of the Forest, it’s almost like she’s speaking of a different place.

The other Kokiri, they can’t see Mab. They make fun of Xenia, for talking to a fairy that only she can see. But real or not, Mab is her closest friend…

Just Dimers to check in before we get started. I've sent a PM.

I've been a little busy these last couple of days, but if we don't get started tomorrow I've got some time to myself on Thursday.

Whilst I'm trying to find some time to get the IC up, why don't you sort out your relationships with each other. You should all be familiar with each other, if not friends up until this point.

A few NPCs you might know:
Mido - male, bossy, thinks of himself as the village mayor.
Saria - female, friendly, kind, loves music.
Fado - female, friendly in a morbid sort of way.

    Feel free to suggest others.

Xenia likely stands out a bit, both because of the mark on her face and because she’s that weird Kokiri girl that always seems to talk to herself. That said, she’s easily embarrassed when people catch her at it, and so she spends a lot of time in the forest and away from the village. Of the NPCs, Saria seems like the one she’s most likely to run into on any kind of regular basis.

Zippo feels like some sort of big brother. Often you don't like him, but always, you can relay on him.

He's neither the smartest, nor the charismatic or wisest, but knows that a single kokiri is much weaker than one out of a group. Often he animates his brothers and/or sisters to train with him sling-shooting, melee fighting, or something else physical.

Nippi is easy-go-lucky, nonjudgemental and ... um ... to put a positive spin on it, "plan-free". He totally accepts Mido's self-importance as valid, loves to hear Vikka enthuse about the Sheikah, doesn't question Weaver's stories ... His ranks in Sense Motive aren't because he scrutinizes lies. They just mean he understands why his friends have these quirks (and how that makes them just like him). And anyway, he likes to listen. Of all the wonderful things about the forest, he loves sounds the most. He has a great time turning nature sounds and his friends' voices into instrumental tunes.

Puppy Koli adores Xenia and seeks her out at every opportunity to beg for bellyrubs and skritches. Sometimes when Nippi takes her out in the woods to hunt, she'll follow Xenia's scent instead. And by "sometimes", I mean "three outta four".

I think Zippo is the PC that most impresses Nippi, but I'm not sure that the feeling is mutual. Does the reliable, serious, tough warrior respect this ungrounded musician whose best trick is making poofs of fire?

    How can you tell?
    1) Zippo loves the ancient stories of the chosen one, which can turn into a wolf, is the best sword-fighter ever and is the only one able to defeat the BBEG “G.“
Other stories, songs, myths etc are very welcome, too.

    2) making poofs of fire is very good to scare siblings on boring days

    3) as long as someone is honest and trustworthy, he doesn't care if ungrounded is another characteristic aspect

Um ... how do you feel about, say, revisionist history? Or ‘alternative perspectives?’ Or subtle (ish) exaggerations?

Lots of people will know Weaver. The more naive of the Kokiri will find his m fascinating... perhaps even amazing. However, the more savvy you are, the more full of crap he appears to be. I’ll let everyone else decide their place on the spectrum. Weaver likes anyone who listens to his stories and doesn’t call him out. For those compelled to point out his ‘inaccuracies’ Weaver is standoffish... until he can find a way to impress them.

Now, everything he says is not a lie ... but there are certainly times he shouldn’t be taken at face value. At his core, he just wants to be liked.

Exclamation Re: RC's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time OOC

Maybe I was a bit misunderstood. What I wanted to say is, as long as Weaver is reliable/dependable (that's what google translater says) its all fine!

Say, Zippo is moving house at Saturday 10:00am. Weaver said he will help but writes at 9:58am a whatsapp and tells he is so sick so he couldn't help but in the evening at the bar, he's drinking again -> Zippo doesn't like.

You don't have to be a saint, just keep your word. You don't have to give it to him, but when, he counts on you and don't want to get disappointed

Hope I could make it clear this time

No worries ... Weaver’s primarily a yarn spinner. He’ll be by your side when you fight the dragon, but when you ask how he stop the dragon he told you he helped defeat, he may be light on real solutions

Vikka is the opposite, quiet and reliable. She will be behind the scenes hamstringing said dragon, unseen, and won't take credit.

As far as her relationships, she knows everyone in the village, their faces, their habits, their routines. Sounds creepy but it allows her to slink around better so she doesn't have to interact. If approached she will be more than willing to help to the point where she will be a doormat. Probably has a bit of a crush on Weaver and doesn't mind when he flakes out. She takes great pleasure in messing with Mido because he is a bossy Billy. She probably listens from the shadows when Nippi sings or tells stories but would not approach him even if her life depended on it. As far as Xenia is concerned, Vikka feels a kinship with her since Xenia is also kind of awkward around others. Vikka would be a more of a mother hen around Zippo since he seems the type to dive head first into a situation without thoroughly, to Vikka's standards anyway, gauging the threat level.

Edit: Also Starbin, don't forget the +2 bonus to saves that we all get!

    I love free bonuses!

PS - I think Weaver would look up to Vikka - she’s the kind of sneak thief he hopes to be one day. Also, I think he’ll be more bluster for things he hasn’t done and less braggart for accomplishments ... we’ll see how it feels in RP.

I also post from mobile a lot, so if you all don't find it too untoward, I'll probably keep it simple and just use bold for Xenia's speech and italics for Mab's.

That's fine by me. Nobody is under any obligation to use any sort of formatting for their character's speech. And nobody else can hear Mab anyway, so there's that.
