    Exclamation New Campaign (Japanese inspired)

So i have been building a world for my friend and his Cousins to play in based on japan and its mythologies. but i am stuck on house maps, Lord house maps, and game maps that i can use in case (or i guess when) my players inevitably get into a brawl with one of the locals. is there anyone out there who is willing to help build feudal japan house/manor/palace maps? and if so would you be willing to help me??

Depending on where the setting sits on the "is like Japan" vs "inspired by sort of Asian things" scale, you could make up some semi-arbitrary but strictly followed rules about the way houses are designed/furnished. Some branches of Hinduism have certain rules about how hallways should look to not let any demons inside, the Chinese have feng shui. I actually don't know if there are Japanese ideas similar to this, but to me it wouldn't feel out of place. (Of course, most times and places have some sort of rules about how stuff looks, lots of churches share design elements as well. As do lots of high-rise apartment buildings, for that matter.)

The reason I'm suggesting this is that strict enough rules basically do half of your design job on any specific building for you. Sure, you still need to draw/photoshop something, but you'll know how it has to look. And if the players start catching on to how similar your buildings are, the lore actually increases immersion.

In addition, see if you have any friends who can lend you books from other editions of L5R. Most of the 1e "Way of" and 2e "Secrets of" series have maps of castles in there that could be helpful.
