    Default sacred fist homebrew help

    Ive been working on a 1/3 caster monk using the cleric spell list. so far it seems be working ok but i'm having trouble with a good lv 17th ability.

    3rd lv- pretty much the same as eldritch knight just using cleric spell list. also they gain a form of flexible casting where they can turn ki into spell slots 1st lv=3 ki, 2nd lv=5 ki, and so on.

    6th lv- can now use flurry of blows after casting a spell as an action

    11th lv- add martial art die to healing spells once per round.

    17th lv-???? at a lose
    what is the point of living if you can't deadlift?

    You could take a look at this Monastic Tradition: Way of the Exorcist

    It's PWYW on DMsGuild.com

    By default it doesn't have any healing since Ki recovers on a short rest and that might have been too much by mid level, however this was XGE so the life transfer spell could probably be added to the list with no real balance issue.

    I'd be inclined to suggest moving that 11th level ability to the 17th slot... don't know why, just a gut feeling.

    Third-caster Monk, you say?

    As it stands, giving the Monk a ki-based Flexible Casting-esque ability is very strong. You'd have to nerf the rest of the subclass's features to compensate.

    I like it.

    I agree on the flexible casting but the spells are more support/healing focused so sure they may end up being able to use one of the free school spell picks to get spirits guardian it would cost them over half of there total ki to make a single 3rd lv slot. I may nudge the cost higher if needed. Need to see it in play to really tell.

    I could knock up the healing buff to 17th lv but now I have a hole at 11.

    You could add maybe a ranged stabilization feature?
