I first recall playing Pong at a pizza parlor, circa 1975 or 1976, on a game machine that was about half of the size of a pinball machine. I think it would have taken two of us to lift that thing up and move it.

Those interests do sound like a nice break from the forum’s usual off-topics. I’m curious if you have any recommendations of indie rock from the early 2000s; I’ve been looking to expand my tastes in rock for a bit.

Weeeeeeeell, that depends on what you like. Smoky? Anything from Lagavulin is good; I really like the new 8-year 100-year anniversary style they've been producing. Sweet? The Nikka Coffey Malt is my favorite to sip like it was dessert, so buttery and creamy. You like the sweetness and notes of sherry-aged scotches? I like Dalmore and Aberlour. Prefer bourbon to single-malt? Garrison Brothers is my gold standard.

Many thanks for the recommendations! In terms of whiskey, I’m not really sure yet what I like; I guess I’m mostly looking to experiment and move past the (very cheap) stuff that I’ve tried to date. So, I guess I’ll have to let you know what works.

Well, I wouldn't drop a lot of money on bottles until you know what you like; I would, however, recommend going to a whiskey bar and trying an assortment along the lines I suggested, or, if you have a whiskey bar of sufficient quality, ask the bartender or proprietor for a flight recommendation.

In the 80s computer game "Mercenary: Escape from Targ" one of the best craft you could fly was a wedge of cheese...I have no idea why. This was also the game that had a quest to fetch the "Essential 12939 supply" (hint: it looks different when you look at it backwards, which was easy to do because all the 3D objects in the game could be looked through).

So you know: you can "make" quotes "by" someone by doing [/QUOTE=Schroeswald] / put in for texture [/QUOTE]. By putting that into the parameters of a quote

If you don't include those numbers that come right after the normal quote parameters, it just lacks a link to go to that thread.
