Antimagic field question

hey so quick question about antimagic field, since it's centred on the caster is the person concentrating on the spell affected in the same way that creatures in the area are affected? Basically just is the person casting the spell also affected by the antimagic effects.

I was just thinking that would cause it to not be super useful since a caster uses magical effects heavily. That said completely denying others of magical effects is a good enough trade now that I think about it more.

Definitely better for clerics who have ok martial abilities to fall back on. It also a huge defensive buff in some events.
