Default d&d themed name for my one eared black kitten

I love object names (like pixel or tofu) and i love gothy/fancy pants names for cats and I think I want to do a fun nod to d&d for this kitten that I recently adopted. Anyone have any suggestions for me? For some reason I just can't come up with anything fun, my brain is helpfully making suggestions like "character sheet" or "dice" which just don't sound great to me. (No offense if you named your cat Character Sheet)

He also was born with only one ear, so if anyone has any name suggestions there, I'm all ears... so far I've come up with Vincent and Mick..

What was the name of Vecna's cat familiar? Use that.

    Destroyer of Worlds

I would always call my dog "Molly T. Puppy" her middle name was The.

I now have Toto The Warrior Poodle . . . Warrior Poodling is a hard business.

I also have Olive The Other Puppy . . .who would laugh and call him names.

    Black.

I like Vecna, but it just kind of misses the mark as a reference. I also can't find a good pun suggesting a black dragon/hydra combination. And I don't know of any ninja's or thieves with a scar on their ear or something.

Tough one, there's enough here that there should be a reference, but I don't know it. Does D&D have a version of the cowardly lion? Or a beastmaster with a black panther?

Displacer Beast? Maybe a bit long winded, but they're most often shown as basically panthers with tentacles.
Not quite D&D themed, but how about Wasitora, the Cat Dragon Queen from Magic: The Gathering.

If you're willing to go deep on the references, the PrC "Foe Hunter" is misspelled "Toe Hunter" at one point, and I've always thought that would be a great name for a cat.

There's always Drzzt's panther Guenhwyvar... no, too hard to pronounce.

    I got it: Catti-brie !

In practice, he'll probably end up effectively named some combination of Fuzzball, Fluffbutt, Fuzzbutt, Cat, Caaaaaaat, and other such miscellany. This tends to give a lot of leeway for longer, harder to pronounce names, especially if they shorten well.

On the other hand, Vecna is missing part of his face, and the name does have a nice ring to it for a cat. A nice ring to the name is a lot more important than a clever reference, for all that the difference is mitigated at least a little bit by the presence of the name Caaaaaaaat.

Plus, once you get to know the cat's personality a bit you might have more to go with than a missing ear and a coat color. Otherwise your cat might end up like a cat I knew by the name of Van Helsing - black cat, had some scars, looked badass - and the actual name of The Lump, compliments of that fitting his activity cycle and profound wimpitude. This added info could help pick a more fitting name.
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.

I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that.

The only one-eared cat I can recall from fantasy is Greebo... but he was grey rather than black, if that matters.

    D&D names... Werepanther? Tabaxi?

We called our black cat Bezekira, the name of the creature listed as Hellcat in the MM. She went ended up going by Pus (Norw. for 'kitty').

The Displacer Beast is based off a A.E. van Vogt creature called Couerl, so that's a possibility.

There isn't a lot of point to naming an animal until you have a good idea of who it is. I've known a lot of cowardly cats named Tiger, for instance.

Also, All Hail Greebo! May he use someone else as a scratching post!

Apparently, there was a certain Vagdru One-Ear in the Neverwinter game. He was an orc with one ear who owned a tavern.
