That's exactly how comic books do it. In fact, Evil Deadpool was constructed by someone patch working all of Deadpool's dismembered parts together over the course of a year.

I dunno, that seems to mostly be her personal philosophy. As Durkon points out, Thor's happiness is not mutually exclusive with her happiness. As seen by Minrah.

I was being facetious with my early post, but... this was discussed extensively last thread. We've never seen Sabine assume a form that doesn't match her normal hair and skin tone, even when it would be advantageous to her (i.e. impersonating the blacksmith who sends Roy on the Starmetal quest, who is a pale-skinned redhead in reality). Rich is consistent with these kinds of things, even as far back as the earliest books. To stop using that standard now just for a last-minute plot twist would be all kinds of cheap.

Roy had never seen the blacksmith before, so I fail to see how it would have been advantageous to change her skin color. And while I do think she's able to, I also think that the skin color is the author giving a subtle hint that it may be Sabine. I certainly wouldn't call it a plot-twist if that changed, though.

    1) Roy had already met Sabine.
    2) Any number of people who new the blacksmith could enter, or have told Roy that "the local blacksmith is the ginger dwarf who lives two blocks from here".

I garee that the consistant skin tone is Rich giving us hints that it's Sabine, but why wouldn't she change if she could? She bothered to change her height and gender, why not go all the way?

And breaking an established pattern without justifying it is bad storytelling.

Also, IIRC, she was impersonating a dwarf blacksmith, where the regular one appeared to be human. This is important as dwarves are better smiths than humans, so that was what convinced Roy that his sword was starmetal

The actual hand is not, but the actual body of Tenrin isn't either. From Roy's mom's word about appearing as your idealized self: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0494.html, it is my impression that based on Tenrin's believe alone it is possible he sees himself as someone holding a representation of Sigdi's hand (arm).

I could imagine them meeting in Valhalla and then and only then Sigdi is finally united with her missing body part which Tenrin has been holding all this time, forced to be able to only drink with one hand at a time!

It sure would have felt unsatisfying to see Durkon pop the Regenerate spell and have it done within two panels. Now that was a satisfying way to having it being delayed while at the same time having the subject being at least touched upon.

It would remain and decompose the usual way, just like it already was. Effects like resurrection wouldn't work on it (regenerate/regeneration wouldn't apply if the creature wasn't alive, so the member is necessarily not part of the creature's body when it died), so there's little incentive for rules tracking the bio-paraphernalia.

Being bad storytelling is enough to damn the possibility in my eyes, considering this is Rich we're talking about, and he's not a bad storyteller in the slightest. I have enough faith in him to not pull a cheap twist like that, especially this late in the story where it wouldn't really accomplish much in the first place.

I feel like everyone's missing the point with this talk about how Sigdi is stuck in her ways and how soul crushing dwarven culture must be.

It's not that she doesn't want the arm back. It's that she wants to make sure Durkon is obligated to return alive.
